My wife and I had a hard time making the decision to spend the money for a TV this size, but now that everything is installed and setup, we couldn't be happier. At first we purchase the 70" 4K 3D Sony TV, but the 3D was incorrectly advertised as passive 3D, when it was actually active 3D; the TV was beautiful, but we have plenty of kids that the active 3D glasses would get expensive replacing. The TV was exchanged for the LG TV, and wow! This TV actually comes with an HDMI cable... for the price paid for the system, this should be a standard. After setting up and turning this giant on, we were blown away with the quality of the picture. We went back and forth trying movies from our PC, in both regular and 3D format. The smart TV functions are easy to use and the software is very fast... not like our older smart TV. We have an older Yamaha sound bar, but the built in sound bars are very nice. If you do not already have a sound bar when making the purchase, then ask the rep about a wireless sub-woofer; this is the only other thing you will need. *** Setup*** We decided to mount the TV on the wall; this is a concrete wall and is able to support the weight of this beast (125 lbs.#. The sound bar speakers are angled from the front of the screen, so if you are planning to use a tilt mount, you will have to give the tilt mount a little extension plate/wood from the wall to allow the proper viewing angle. I mounted a solid wooden inch thick plank #painted black in the picture# and then mounted the SANUS TV mount onto that; this extends the monitor out enough #because of the speakers), so I can get the proper viewing angle for the 3D picture. This is a great TV and we are enjoying it every day... no buyer’s remorse!

Unlike the 3D gimmick, 4k is incredible. Yes, 3D is nice but lack of media makes it almost useless. 4k on a 79" screen is unbelievable. While there is still not a lot of 4k material, even 1080p HD upscales to a totally different and improved experience. Internal HK audio system fills the room. Takes a while to get used to the smart menus but after a while they too become second nature. My only warning involves mounting. Even with the recommended wall mount, exact positioning is difficult.

This is an expensive TV, but worth it. It has exceeded our expectations. A screen this size (79") shows the pixels badly if not 4k. Most of our sources are not 4k except for some Netflix shows, some Amazon Prime, and our Oppo BluRay has 4k output. The built in 4k rendering upscales very nicely, just as well as the Oppo does for BluRay. So even regular 1080p from our cable provider looks incredibly lifelike. The 4k on Netflix is so good, it is eerie. I have never seen TV this sharp. It caused us to watch 'House of Cards' all over again. It was like Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright were actually in the room with us. You see every hair, razor stubble, blade of grass, etc. You almost want it to be a little fuzzier !! 3D is acceptable. The glasses are passive unlike Sony and others, so they are easier to use. You need to have the TV tilt exactly right or you can get a little ghosting. This unit replaced a Sony, we like this one better for 3D, but that being said we don't like 3D in general. The only negative is that the handheld controller takes a little getting used to. Its more like a Nintendo Wii controller. I now have the hang of it, but any guests that use it will be completely baffled except for the power button. We actually control the device with a Yamaha AV amplifier, so we really don't need the controller much except for initial setup. Everyone who has seen this TV has been amazed at the sharpness, color, and depth. It has caused some of our friends to get into arguments,,,, invariably the husband wants to get one, and the spouse is groaning that they just got a new set last year. This is a 125# heavy unit. You will need to get a good mount (we used a Sanus) that can bolt onto some solid studs. Have an internet connection available so you can do firmware updates even if you don't plan to watch Netflix, Hulu, etc. If you want to watch Netflix in 4k, you may need to upgrade your Netflix plan, but worth it. Everyone in our home is thrilled with this TV. We were skeptical about the extra bucks for 4k, but it really was worth it.

Awesome picture. Best Buy came set everything up and we bought the easiest Harmony remote. User friendly, the best. Lg has the best picture we have ever purchased. Extremely happy with sales woman, geek squad!

Excellent product at a good price at Best buy . USB 3 in the Tv supports 3 TB external Hard drive , Good size screen where you can't install a projector . Mirror screen for the laptop . Overall good tv to buy

This tv is awesome. It is clear, colors are beautiful and it does everything. It is 3D when you want it to be, it is a smart tv when you choose. We love it.

This replaced a 12 year old Pioneer RPTV that failed and was about the size and weight of a Smart car, so we had the room for it. Helpful sales staff and smooth as silk delivery. After two weeks with it, we still find ourselves amazed at everything about this set, color accuracy, picture detail and great sound. No need for a sound bar. The difference was dramatic compared to the other sets we saw in Magnolia. Upscaling, even Internet material at low rez was great. Blu ray playback was stunning as was the limited 4K material on the net. If you can afford it and have the room, buy it and don't look back. This is the best electronics purchase I've made in a long time.

We purchased this TV to be used in our executive conference room. Has worked wonderfully for our situation.

This televison has a tremendous picture. Easy to set up. Really enjoy 3D movies and blu ray DVDs.

Easy to set-up and connect to WI-FI. The Harmon Kardon speakers I think are great and look wonderful. No surround sound but I don't see that as a major set-back. Picture is unbelievable, sports, movies, games. Doesn't matter where you sit, it's still a unbelievable picture. No reason to go the theater anymore.

Excellent picture quality, 4k, great sound, 3D, smart tv apps, smart remote/mouse and it's79". What more do you need?

great TV quality for HD, but in the world of 4K, this picture is only average... only purchased because we bought heavily discounted, and wanted a new TV this large

I am very pleased with this TV. A great picture....and it fits well with furniture in the room....a side cabinet on each side, and a large, black TV bench. Great!!! My husband is very critical of TV pictures and ability to "hook up" several other components.....amplifier, sound system, blu-ray dvd, laser disk, etc., etc. He is happy with this TV!!!

The LG TV has the very best picture that I have ever seen and the sound from the TV speakers is awesome.

Biggest tv I have owned. Absolutely crystal clear 4k and 1080p. Movies are bright and super colorful.

Got it for a great price after price matching. The TV is great and so is the image quality. I think the Samsung interface is slightly better, even though LG makes it more vivid and fun when navigating the TV.

As I was looking to upgrade to a 4K TV this year I looked around and really fell in love with the LG 79" 4K TV. The size in the store looked great and the details in the 4K content loop look amazing. This TV comes with a bonus sound system build into 2 speakers on each side. Using my own system I wished there was an option for this, but at least playing games on my computer the audio will be great. The TV is HEAVY (135 lbs) Make sure you have a friend help if you set up. Something else to remember about this TV is that the TV base stand is 79" long and runs the whole size of the TV. Make sure you have a big enough TV Stand if your NOT mounting the TV. Unlike most others this stand is use to hold up the weight of the TV and speakers. The upscale is amazing! Watching a Pixtar movie like "UP" made my mouth drool. The difference between HD and UHD upscale is totally worth it. The details "pop" so much more, and everything looks AMAZING!. Older movies look OK, but I can't wait for true 4K content to hit the market soon. Spend the few extra $1000 for a bigger screen...it's totally worth the experience.

This TV is the best I've ever owned. I had an LG 47" LED TV which was great, but since I moved to a new place it was time to see what 4K was all about. I was in between the Samsung 78" and the LG 79". I went with the LG because I was sold on the picture and the brand. I'm glad I made this choice. The up-scaling from this TV is awesome!!!! Also, the 4K movies from Netflix are beyond anything I've visually experienced. This is the TV to invest in for your all of your viewing pleasure. In addition, the Geek Squad guys did an awesome job mounting the TV and setting up my blu-ray and sound bar. Furthermore, educating me on the remote control and all of the TV's features. In one month, I'm scheduled to have my TV calibrated to make my already awesome picture even better. Just get up and buy this TV today!!! Best Buy and Geek Squad... Thank you
