We absolutely love our new TV! While there was a small pickup/delivery hiccup when we first purchased the TV, we were able to remedy the issue quickly. Mounting the TV was a little tricky, installing the mount itself was very easy with good instructions, but the TV was extremely heavy, so having my husband and I lift the TV to get it onto the mount was difficult and took several attempts. At the end of the day, the screen is huge, the mount is nearly flush to the wall and very nice looking, and the picture itself is magnificent. I am very picky, so I spent about 20 mins adjusting the screen and sound to my exact specifications and now I couldn't be happier. Home cinema mode is great for movies and I also love the game mode. Overall, well worth the investment!!

This TV is outstanding! Truly pristine picture. I've had several OLEDs from LG and Sony and this one takes the cake in my opinion. This is the first OLED where I have no problems at all watching with all the lights on. The G3 was a big step up in that regard and was close but it doesn't touch this. No connectivity issues with my Apple 4k or AVR; everything works flawlessly to this point. This is also the cleanest panel I've ever had (the 83s had issues in the past). Sound is average/about what you would expect but I don't really buy TVs for their sound. A top performer all around. Games, movies, regular TV all looks great to my eyes.

What Can I say, This LG G5 83 speaks for it self. What you see at the store show room is what you get at home. The onboard speakers are fair, but if you spend this much for a TV, you should definitely get one of the LG sound bar system. LG sound bar for better integration. Im not going to lie, its on board software is overwhelming but fun to learn if you're tech guy. Is it 100% perfect ... no, but you will get use to it because you will realize your old TV operation sucked.
Im retiring soon and this is how I want to go out.. MIND BLOWING STUFF. DONT cheap out on HDMI cables and install. Get the best for this beast.. Good luck with your purchase.

Absolutely love this TV! The picture quality is incredible, deep blacks, vibrant colors, and crystal clarity whether I’m watching movies or sports. The sound is surprisingly rich, and the sleek design looks beautiful on the wall. Setup was quick, and the smart interface is super intuitive. Easily one of the best TVs I’ve ever owned!

The guys that hung my TV were awesome, they were patient and held up my tv at dif3levels to help decide where to hang it. TV is great we dont have sound bar and it aounds good as is. We still have to play around with it because there are so many options. I am not very savy when it comes to TV settings, some shows/movies are clearer than others. The remote control could have been designed better, feel like its cheap for the tv. We had a sony bravia before this TV, Sony bravia picture was pretty perfect out of the box.

BEST TV I HAVE EVER OWNED! Picture is bright and crystal clear. Got the 83 inch G5 a few months back on a deal of the day. $4700 plus free installation. Couldn’t psss it up. Sure no TV is perfect but , if you can afford it you WILL NOT not be disappointed. Occasionally play my PS5 on this MONSTER. LOOKS AMAZING! Wife and I had it installed in our bedroom. Feels like a movie theater in there. lol.

Absolutely the best TV on the market right now, From an owner of the Sony A95l which is fantastic too, the LG just look and preform much better in all aspects, mount and set up was super easy, just love it!!!

Upgraded from my old 2016 Sony 75" to this LG G5 83" and honestly the picture is insane. First OLED I've ever owned and the difference is like night and day. Colors, blacks, sharpness… all crazy good. The 83" size is perfect too, way bigger impact than I expected.
Only thing dropping one star is the software. The UI is kind of buggy. I keep getting this “No Signal” message every time I turn the TV on, even when everything is connected and working fine. Can’t figure out how to stop it and it gets annoying.
Besides that, the TV itself is amazing. Super happy I went with the G5.
Just finally got it all together. The home Enterta

Customer service was not very knowledgeable and did not know too much. And wasted a lot of my time and had to figure it out all by myself.
Haven't been happy with LG in the past like their products for years, but customer service seems to be going downhill for me on most times and occasions.
And I think the t v lacks a little bit compared to my Sony x VR bravia 85 inch didn't know how to adjust anything have to read. Online manuals didn't come with one. That's normal But they couldn't help walk me through customer service. Don't know anything about their products. They are not very knowledgeable. They tell me there's too many models. They make these uses, and they don't even have remote access like my Sony. Sony gets online and connects to the TV and talks to you on the phone and explains exactly what everything is and what to do. Hopefully it holds up and less, and they get better with their customer service. And that this television lasts longer than my LG curved screen or my LG wireless headset. They were not very good with their warranties and very disrespectful, but I believe in second chances, God bless Merry Christmas. Good luck, everybody. There is no such thing

Do not buy this TV from Best Buy. Summary is TV and Setup and Mounting were purchased from Best Buy. Best Buy used another party to fufill and ship the TV, and Geek Squad who they own to do the installation. Geek Squad unboxes and mounts the TV and discovers the display won't turn on. Shipping box was undamaged. Repeated calls to Best Buy including supervisor escalation yields no solution from Best Buy. They won't replace it, and they say it is out of a time window for the original shipper to replace it.
Hi, Rick. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG TV (OLED83G5WUA) model. We understand how important it is for your new TV to work flawlessly right out of the box, especially after investing in professional setup and installation. If the display isn’t powering on, we recommend checking that the power cord is securely connected to both the TV and a working outlet, and that the status light on the TV responds when pressing the power button. You can also try a soft reset by unplugging the TV for 60 seconds and plugging it back in. For additional setup guidance, feel free to visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-OLED83G5WUA.AUS. Clean Flush-Mounting Bright TV, Ideal for Gamers

This is a very good TV -- by most metrics it is 5 stars. But the webOS and "smart" features and spyware and all the other video AI messing with the image and brightness making it a "smart TV" dropped it a half-star since I found it hard to turn it all off and make it into a passthrough monitor. Honestly LG needs a button for that. And on software update, it turns a lot back on. I don't use any of the apps on it (I use an Apple TV) so can't speak to the quality of those. The privacy agreements to use them are worth reading carefully -- I didn't accept them and don't use those features.
Now the good: the picture is very bright and once you turn off the AI / powersaving features is clean and stable and shows the source (mostly) as it was meant to be. I wish there were more controls, like on my older C8, to dial this in, but alas. The game optimizations like 4K@120 and VRR are incredible on fast FPS games on nextgen consoles (XBox X e.g.) -- the game features are a main reason I upgraded from the C8 (HDMI 2.0) and chose the LG over the competition.
HDMI-CEC is a little worse on this one than my C8 as well -- it keeps trying to use ARC for no reason and changes my AVR input away from the source I want so I find I need to fight with it more than the C8. No controls to fix this either (It's "smart", remember?). I haven't tried external control yet, but that might allow me to set up automations to switch between picture modes depending on my AVR source since the TV just sees the one HDMI input and can't really tell, so I have to use the remote to switch picture mode manually more than I'd like. For example, DolbyVision I had to tune carefully in a certain picture mode to look good, but that tweaked setting looks way too bright (it burns!) in HDR or SD so I need to switch to another when I watch those sources.
The flush mount that comes with this TV is also a key buying point -- it looks like a portrait on the wall when you run a good screensaver. Getting rid of the TV stand has given us back 2 feet in our living room! We considered a movable VESA, but honestly that would have ruined the aesthetics of the included flush mount of this TV, a major selling point. Glad we didn't! One peeve here is the wire route is on the left edge of the larger TVs, not the middle, so the raceway is off-center from the TV on the wall -- not a big deal, but the asymmetry might bother some folks (you know who you are).
I can't speak much to the built-in sound since I only use it for like news and talk shows and use a home theater surround normally. It's totally fine for that.
Definitely a great TV you won't be disappointed in. And if you watch a lot of low-quality sources, perhaps the AI features will gain you some benefit.

Once you’ve seen Oled nothing else compares to it. LG is simply the best of them all when it comes to Oled. True blacks and all colors are 100% accurate. You get what you pay for. Not cheap but well worth it.

This TV is next level. The colors are vibrant and realistic, the blacks are deep, and WOW is this thing bright! The only thing I don’t like is how clunky the UI is. I feel like it should be a lot easier to change inputs.

I had a Sony 65 inch Oled and decided to replace it with a larger tv. After doing research I decided on the 83 inch LG G5 Oled. Wow! What a picture!!!!!! I am impressed by the quality of this tv. I noticed it is much brighter than my Sony which is great for daytime viewing. This tv may be a little more pricier than others I have looked at but I think it was well worth it. I added the LG soundbar system which greatly enhances the sound especially when playing 4K movies on my player.

Outstanding picture. Lives up to its numerous reviews. Definitely brighter than previous years. Recommend potential buyers compare this G5 LG with others of the same caliber and note the excellent differences.

Best TV I've ever seen or owned. The LG G5 83" television is super sharp, very bright for OLED screen technology and has unmatched contrast and black levels. Some movies I've watched previously had dark scenes where I missed most of the action and watching them on this TV was like a new movie. Highly recommended, but it is very expensive.
