    Excellent, powerful and fast smartphone

This is the best smartphone I've owned so far. It is fast and powerful, has a beautiful display, sports a surprisingly full-featured camera and has great sound, especially the speakerphone. Call quality is excellent, and people that I've talked to have had no complaints about hearing me. The camera is also rather good, featuring 13 megapixels in 4:3 and 10 megapixels in 16:9, a variety of settings and the ability to make adjustments for those who are knowledgeable about photography. Video playback is great and the sound is pretty good for a smartphone. I streamed a movie on the Netflix app and it performed flawlessly (I was using a Wi-Fi connection at the time). It handles Google's KitKat operating system well, and I have had no problems with the phone after it updated the software. Probably the best thing about the phone is the price. With the G3 coming out sometime this year (supposedly), the G2 is on clearance. According to what I've read, the G3 has only a few minor upgrades to hardware and functionality, so getting the G2 for free with a 2-year contract is a smart choice. Unless you have to have the latest and greatest, this is a powerful phone for a bargain price. Probably the only downside to the phone is the power and volume buttons on the back. Most phones have these buttons on the side and/or top, so those who have used smartphones over the years may find it difficult to get used to the buttons being on the back. Because the phone is of the larger variety, it does make it easier to reach them one-handed, but pressing the button you want can be a challenge, and there is not much that distinguishes the power button from the volume buttons. I've turned the screen off on a number of occasions when I wanted to change the volume. The buttons are bigger and easier to press than buttons on some phones. It is something that takes a little getting used to. Compared to everything else about the G2, the button placement is a minor issue. Overall, the G2 is an excellent, powerful phone for a bargain price.

Okay. I can't tell you whether I like this phone or hate it. I really have a bit of both. It has an amazing camera, one of the best I've seen other than the Note 3. It has a pretty big battery, which lasted almost a whole day with heavy usage. It is 5.2", and if they had shaved off that .2", it would've been the perfect hand size. The screen is beautiful. Being LCD, I didn't expect such vivid colors and tones, but I think they tried to overcompensate in some places to make up for it not being AMOLED. Still beautiful though. The back buttons drove me nuts. I thought I was going to get used to them after a few days, but I kept hitting the volume buttons instead of the power button. Verizon's version has a different type of buttons, so I'm not sure how the others feel in hand. I just know it got annoying. The tap to turn on feature was a life saver in that department though. One time the "knock-on" as they call it, happened while in my work pants pocket b/c the material was so thin. I ended up calling 2 people because of this... Overall, it could've been an amazing phone. Let's hope they fix these issues with the G3?

Of all the smartphones I have had, this is the easiest to use. From the moment you start using it, you know it. It is so responsive. After you have been using it, the phone will actually anticipate your wants. The battery is unbelievable. I am a heavy user, and at the end of the day, I will have used 1/2 to 3/4 of my battery. The camera is another great feature. Very clear, really good pictures.

After lugging around a Tracfone & Samsung Galaxy 5 Player for several years I decided to upgrade to a true single unit Smartphone. I also purchased a LG G2 for my wife (pink case). This phone is incredibly fast and easy to use. Phone voice quality is so much better than my old Tracfone. It's as good as a land line. Wireless connectivity is 2x better than my old Samsung Galaxy 5 Player. The features that come with the LG G2 like the knock-knock & slide-aside features make it so that I don't even need to consider a launcher app. The stock phone app is so good that I removed about 3 different Play Store apps that I had purchased to help make my old Android camera better. I was considering the Galaxy S4 but I went with the LG G2 for the faster processor and slightly better camera. I still use a full size DSLR for those photos that really matter but the video is the LG G2 is much better than the one in my DSLR.

Smartphones still amaze me: phone, camera, gps, wifi receiver, wifi hotspot, bluetooth, infrared transmitter, and almost all the functionality of a full size PC, all in a package that fits in my pocket. And this phone seems to deliver the best in class of all those components. If you are going to argue that there are better phones out there, we would be discussing tiny differences between the top contenders of the day. This model can stand up admirably to its current peers, surpassing them in many categories. The screen looks great, the processor is really zippy and smooth, the radios are strong, the interface is intuitive, the battery is long lasting, the camera takes great pictures and videos, and you can even use it to call people. Had this a month now, traded up from the original Droid Razr.

I couldn't be happier with my LG G2. I replaced my Thunderbolt, which replaced the BB Storm. I have the iPhone4, iPhone5, and Samsung S4 in the house. I was really thinking I'd go with an S4, but after checking the specs against the G2, and then playing with one at Best Buy, I just knew the G2 was the right one. The battery is amazing! No matter how much i use the phone, hours and hours of internet, video, calls and texts, and yet I have never been below 35% battery life at the end of the day, from 7am to 11pm. I often can go two whole days on one charge. Love it. The rest of the phone works great, runs smooth, and is super fast. I'm very satisfied, and cannot understand how the S4 outsells the G2. Battery, camera, screen size, and just the more solid feel of the phone, there is no comparison.

getting used to buttons on back. as soon as I bought a case it was easy and much more convenient then on the sides. picture is great. camera and camcorder is great. its fast, too! best deal for the price. only other problem is not as many case options because its still sort of new and doesn't sell near as many as samsung and iphone so its sort of limited. hope that changes. great phone

The best phone I've had to date and being a phone nerd, I've had multiple flagship Android/Apple phones per year. The camera is as good as any high end point and shoot I've ever used. The low light camera and anti-shake technology is fantastic. The battery life is incredible and will last a day even under heavy use, only to be rivaled by the Razr Maxx. This is hands down the best smartphone I've ever owned and I've recommended it to all my friends. Being a chronic phone flipper, this is the first one I've felt like I will keep for a while.

I chose this phone because of the price and the camera specs (and I like to take closeups of small insects), but I ended up being impressed with pretty much everything. I can't tell you if it easily scratches, since I put a screen protector on it and I carry it around as if it were alive, but I imagine it probably does. I have the Verizon version, and it's great, but my friend has the AT&T one and she's able to change the sound it makes depending on which person is texting her, just like you can with phone calls (also, can anyone see the difference between "green" and "lime green" for the notification light? doubt it). I haven't been disappointed with anything. The battery life isn't great, but it is at least three times better than that of my last smart phone, and if I don't do too much surfing and streaming, I can get away with charging once every other day.

this phone is awesome, I came from being an iphone 4s user to this and its night and day. I got tired of the same old scheme of apps and boring design of the apple interface, so being an adroid and an lg g2, it is so customizable to you liking from app placement, the look, the interface. The battery life is amazing. One full charge can last me for almost two days with surfing and heavy txting. The picture quality is amazing too, being the screen so big, bright and vibrant. The only negative about this is the sound quality. Now its not bad, but its no iphone or htc one, so if you want to listen music while working outside, the sound will be just ok not great...This phone is a great buy and you will be surprised how fast it is.

This phone is great! The battery life is the most amazing of any phone I've had and primarily why I chose it. The 13 megapixels was an added bonus ... that and the quad-core processor. You won't be disappointed!

I think they are being closed out, because I got mine for $199, and now they are $150. Either price is a big drop for the verizon version of these phones. It's lightning quick and the perfect size. The black is an instant fingerprint magnet, but a protective case is now on it, so this is a non issue. I use my phone sparingly, and I am getting 4 days out of one charge--with wifi and gps on. Again, though, I use my phone very little. The phone came unlocked, and Straight Talk just recently started selling the verizon 4G LTE sim card for their service. I put it in, and viola, it worked! (Straight talk website setup was a pain, though). Also, when I plugged it into my pc, I let it install the LG software, and then it upgraded to lollipop. This slowed it down just a fraction, but it still runs great, and it has the new GUI. I"m going to ge two more for my sisters, as they need new phones.

This phone is nearly perfect. It is the perfect size to fit comfortably in a pocket. LG has packed the largest screen in the most compact body possible. The G2 is very sleek looking and feels good in the hand. The 13MP camera with OIS takes beautiful photos and the built-in IR blaster turns your phone into a universal remote control. I especially like the ability to customize the phone such as the text message themes and the layout and color of the navigation buttons. The rear volume and power/lock buttons are surprisingly easy to get use to. The 'knock knock' feature give you the ability to turn the screen on just by tapping it twice which makes it quick and easy to check your notifications. As always Google's Android OS keeps getting better and better but where the G2 falls short is the additional 'skin' by LG. I would have preferred more of a stock version of Android. If I'm being picky, the back of the phone is a bit slick. It shows fingerprints quite easily and is sometimes difficult to grip. All in all this is the best phone I have had to this point.

As BBuy closes out this phone, it is an awesome deal at $199 or $150. No contract, keep discount, replacement phone, etc. The Lollipop update makes the phone smooth, updated, fresh, etc. Interface looks almost identical to the G3 and runs better due to having only a 1080P screen. I have a G3 and the G2 performs at or above speed wise. The Snapdragon 800 is still competitive with Galaxy S5, LG G3, etc. I've purchased 3 for family friends (one a month ago, 2 activated today). The month old one is running great. Make sure you do a factory reset after doing all 4-5 system updates and ending finally on Lollipop 5.0.2.

I researched for quite awhile as I do every 2 years and found this phone to exceed my expectations on paper. Then I started using the phone. It continues to exceed my expectations regarding the battery life and speed and functionality of this phone. The camera quality is superb and this speakers are better than most. Everything other phones can do, this one can do and some much better. Love it.

I've had this phone for over a month now and it is great. I'm a fairly heavy user, pandora/hulu for the commute and second screen use while on the home wifi, and can typically get two days of use out of a charge. I was originally hesitant of the buttons on the back and found the volume buttons difficult to adjust during a call. Favorite feature is the double tap screen to turn on and off. Overall this is an awesome phone for the price and I would highly recommend!

Best phone I've had yet. Phone is easy to use with one hand and the snapdragon processor works great. Only downfalls are just that the speaker is on one side of the phone so when streaming music on phone alone is not the best choice, and the main internet browser is chrome and doesnt work with adobe flash player. However those two things can easily be fixed with a set of earphone/external speraker and using a different browser that works with adobe.

This phone has the best battery life of any phone that I have owned. The call quality and overall build quality are excellent, and I have had no issues adjusting to the rear buttons. In fact, after having used them for a few weeks, I have come to prefer this configuration. The screen on this phone is also excellent, with good brightness and excellent viewing angles. The cameras performance is also excellent, with everything from gaming to intensive web-browsing being a virtually lag-free experience. The phone's weakest point is its camera, IMO, but this is really nitpicking. This is an excellent camera, it is just slightly slow to focus, and doesn't always handle low-light as well as some of its contemporaries. Having said that, as an overall product, I cannot think of a single phone that I would pick over this one. 9/10 overall!

For the most part, this is a great phone. The battery seems to last well enough. I use it all day for email, text, and phone. I usually have about 60-80% at the end of the day. I highly recommend getting the Otterbox or some other cover. These are delicate devices. My son's cracked by just being in his pocket. We hadn't bought the Geek Squad and it was one day after the 14 days you have with Best Buy, so I had to pay LG for the repair and send it to Texas. After reading other reviews around, it appears to be an issue. So do yourself a favor, get the Otterbox before you put it to use. Also get the insurance on Verizon.
