    Great phone, one troubling problem

I got this phone on launch day, and while I've been incredibly impressed with almost every facet of this phone, I've already had to exchange the unit for replacement (which explains the low star-rating). I'll address that later, but first here are my impressions after 1-week with the LG G3: Contract satisfied and due for an upgrade (from my Samsung GS3), I was considering the GS5 and HTC One (M8), and from my research I was leaning toward the One (M8) based on the solid design and attractive build, larger onboard memory, and boom sound speakers (speakers on GS3 were attrocious). When the G3 was released at a price-point $100 less than either of the other two I pulled the trigger. I was concerned about the size of the LG G3, but it's actually almost as easy to hold as my old GS3. True, reaching the top of the screen is a stretch one-handed, but for 80% of the time I don't even have to shift my grip - and I haven't even explored some of the "one-handed" keyboard and other settings. And it fits well in my back pocket and even the side pocket on some of my trousers. I know Samsung supposedly made improvements on their TouchWiz UI, but LG's Sense UI is SO MUCH of an improvement over my old GS3 I can't imagine the GS5 competing unless it is a complete software rebuild. Sense is clean, smooth, responsive, and there's not a lot of bloatware apps packed in. The finish brushed metal-esque finish is classy, and a nice compromise nearly as attractive as the metal One (M8) while being MUCH lighter plastic. And the back panel is removable allowing micro SD and battery - a HUGE plus if I need to swap/replace batteries. Speaking of the battery - the 3000 mAh unit has been more than adequate thus far. I would charge up in the evening, unplug before going to bed, use it moderately the next day, get home and then top it off in the evening before repeating the process. If I knew I may need heavy use in the evening I might want to top it off before leaving work, otherwise this has been giving me roughly twice the usable battery life I was seeing on my old GS3! The speaker also really impressed me - and sound was a big draw for the One (M8). It looks small, and is located on the rear of the LG G3, but is surprisingly loud and quite good quality. Again, a tremendous improvement from what I had with the Sammy GS3. BUT, and here's the kicker, my phone was overheating tremendously. With no apps open, and the phone not plugged in, it would overheat and shut itself off after <30 of driving on my regular route with Waze navigation running. The area had fair 3G/LTE coverage and my old GS3 never had any overheating issues while running navigation on this route. The problem was repeatable, in the AM and PM, and when I called Sprint they said they thought it was a defective phone so I exchanged it for a new one. I will update after checking whether the replacement exhibits the same overheating behavior...if it does I'll be exchanging it for a One (M8) and will update my review. Until then I cannot recommend this phone, despite all the fantastic features.

This phone is very user friendly. The picture clarity is amazing, being able to touch anywhere on the screen and take a picture allows me to never miss a moment of a memory being made.

I must admit, there was a learning curve when switching to the LG phone. Now I wouldn't change for anything. I love the big screen. The sound is great and it's really fast.

I am the type of person that will try it before I knock it. I've tried the iPhone and the LG G3, but there is no going back to iPhone now. I love my LG G3: it's sleek, compatible, high resolution camera, easily personalize it, and many more features that the iPhone doesn't have.

This was an upgrade for an LG Optimus G Pro. This LG G3 phone is a great value for all the specs and performance. It does everything an iPhone does for less than 50% of the price. Compared to Samsung, it is also around 30-40% less in price for the same specs.

Got the same phone my husband has. He likes his. I wanted a switch from my Samsung s4. Did not like the idea of non removeable battery. Got the LG 3G. Love it.

I was ready for a upgrade on my Sprint phone on Labor Day. And like most people I had narrowed down my selection to 2 possible phones. The HTC1 or the LG G3. I had received a email from Costco of a one day sale on both of these phones. Both were great prices. I wanted to physically see both phones before making my decision. Went to my local Best Buy Mobile Store in the mall. Talked with the sales men there. The LG G3 met all my requirements, great camera, removable battery, memory card upgradeable to 128GB. Best Buy also met the price of the Costco, 1 day sale. I walked out the door a happy woman.

These LG G3 phones offer great performance and one of the best values compared to iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S/Note phones. While it is 2015, there aren't that many new features in the G4 or any other current that make it worth the extra $350 over this phone.

Its weird to give control to me having the picture taken of me! Just close your open hand and the camera takes the pic for you. Just one of the things that I like about this phone. Lots of little additions that make this a fun phone. Web browsing and looking at email is easy with the big screen. Navigation is awesome with this... Jealous I have a smaller phone, may have to steal this from her...

Great phone, not the best microphone though. Your voice sounds muffled to others - great if given to mother-in-law however.

I was surprised by how slim and light this phone is. It is also very easy to switch between wifi and mobile data. It does seem to go through the battery pretty quickly if you're actually using it, although that may just be because this is my first smart phone.

The Display is fantastic. The device runs smooth most of the time. Cons the LTE chip disconnects from time to time. The keyboard is small and does not have a very accurate touch. The display sometimes does not register ur touch sometimes. Battery life. Well what battery life. Last about 4 hours heavy use.if u are. Lucky. I would recommend the M8 or Note 4. Or the next nexus for sure. When it runs right this is a great phone just make sure you do not pay. More than 49.99.
