I bought Nexus 5x in ice blue during black friday sale, so it came at a very affordable price. The color is really soothing. The phone size is perfect and it obviously gives you pure android experience.
It is a completely unlocked phone and can be used with both GSM and CDMA operators. Overall a good purchase.

Overall, I'm liking my N5X. The camera alone has been worth the upgrade. Wanting to replace my Moto X (G2) with a Nexus, I also considered the 6P, but frankly it's just too big and, oddly enough, too premium with its materials: Glass and aluminum look nice but are super slippery, which means you have to slap an ugly old case on it. I wanted something more practical, with a unique enough design and color (the Ice, in my case) but not too flashy, and the N5X fit the bill. Here are my pros (+) and cons (-) so far:
+ Marshmallow. There are still some bugs, but it's fun to get to know the latest and greatest Android OS. And since it's a Nexus, I'll get the next upgrade first, which is a positive (despite the bugs).
+ Fingerprint sensor is so handy, pun intended.
+ I like the headphone jack at the bottom of the phone. At first I thought it would hate it, but I actually prefer it as I find it's less prone to getting tangled.
+ Camera is solid, especially in low light.
- The camera app, however, can be buggy and slow. And as others have said, the feature set is simplistic. That's fine by me since I rarely mess with the settings, but for power users that could be a problem.
+ The display is nice and sharp, even in bright daylight.
- On that note, the touchscreen is sometimes unresponsive, especially along the edges
- I miss the motion sensor on my Moto X, which displays the time with a wave of your hand. To remedy that, I installed the Wakeup Touch Nexus app, which does the job though not as elegantly.
- The ambient display is good, but not as good as Moto's Active Display mostly because it is too brief a flash and doesn't display enough times.
- Now on Tap isn't as useful as I'd hoped, so I'm not in the habit of using it yet.
- Why did Google take away the swipe-up gesture from the home button? I used that to fire up alternate launchers like App Swap, but now I have to choose between that and Now on Tap. They could've kept both and then I could have both Now on Tap and another launcher.

I purchased this phone on a recommendation from a friend. I needed an inexpensive phone that was bigger than my old phone and did not have all the bloatware that is usually found on Samsung (like my tablet has). I was going to but it from the google store, when I went to place my order the sale had ended and the price was now 50 bucks higher. I came here to best buy and placed my order (which was still at the sale price). I love this phone, it is lite and perfect for my use. I love the fact that it is fast for me and just very useful. Plus it had the new operating system. Personally reading a review that mentions "build quality" - to me comes off as snotty- let alone invalid (want better build quality - go and to a walk-in store... This phone is surprisingly durable. I am quite happy!!!!

Quick pro and con list...
Pros
-Solid but light, nice polycarbonate body, if you like the way the old Nokia smartphones felt you'll love this.
-Screen is really nice, especially in this price range
-Camera is shockingly good for this price range
-Decent amount of storage
-Zero carrier bloat, this is clean and pure Android the way Google intended
Cons
-This is an 'early adopter' device, you will get updates that have bugs, but with monthly updates that often address more than security, you won't live with them very long.
-This is an unlocked and 'unbranded' phone so your support is limited to Nexus discussion boards and calling Google, fine with me but if you aren't very technical this may be annoying.
If you want a fast, capable phone that is easy on the wallet and will see both Android N and O it's tough to go wrong here.

Feel Let Down, POOR Quality Images

I really, really wanted to love this phone. I feel let down. Very let down.
I went with the Nexus 5x over the 6p because LG make the 5x and I've never heard of who ever it is that makes the 6p.
There are several things that I don't like about this phone, but it's the image quality that moved me to write a review. It sucks. I mean it REALLY SUCKS. Don't be fooled by the 12.3 mp camera with HD settings if you want to use them. The aspect ratio of the images makes them worthless. Had I known the pictures and videos would be such low quality, I would have spent more to get something better.
The image quality really took me by surprise. I've had LG phones before and they all took wonderful, high quality pictures and videos. I just assumed it would be the same with the Nexus 5x. It's not at all the same quality, not even close!
As mentioned, there are a few things I don't like about this phone. If not for the image quality of pics and vids, I was okay living with them. But if I had it to do over again, I would definitely not buy this phone.
My other gripes.
*Power and Volume Buttons*
When I talk on the phone, or just handle it or have it in my purse, the power button and volume buttons invariably get adjusted. I've missed a lot of phone calls because of this. It can be addressed in the settings, but it's still a pain.
*Placement of the Fingerprint Reader*
It's literally right under the camera lens. If you like taking pictures with your phone, be prepared to clean the lens often because it will probably be covered in fingerprints.
*The Camera Lens*
The lens itself is prone to damage because it's not recessed into the camera at all. If you lay your phone on a table or where ever, the lens will be resting directly on that surface. It'll get scratched very easily. Get a phone case that will protect the lens. The case I bought from Best Buy is no good. Absolutely no protection for the lens. The lens will be scratched and covered in fingerprint smudges.
Spigen - Ultra Hybrid Case for Nexus 5X Cell Phones - Crystal Clear
*Built in Apps*
They suck. But those can be replaced.
The best thing I can say about this phone is that it charges very quickly and works well as a mobile hot spot. I'd rather have a phone that takes a little longer to charge but takes at least decent pictures

Great Overall Phone

I picked up the Nexus 5X as a replacement for my HTC One M8 and greatly prefer it to the One. I don't have any complaints about the Nexus except that that camera app can be a bit glitchy and the build quality could be better, but other than that this is a great phone and unless your coming from something like a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 or an Iphone 6S Plus you shouldn't have any problems with it.

The perfect phone

I have always been a fan of the Google Nexus phones and the Nexus 5x has exceeded my expectation. If you like larger screens I would definitely go with the Nexus 6p, but if you are concerned about the size then go with the 5x. My only complaint is that the battery doesn't last as long as the Nexus 6p, but the quick charge feature definitely makes up for that shortfall.

The phone looks cool though it is made up of cheap plastic. It has got all the nice features. The front and rear camera is good. Loads the applications faster. The display is stunning. But, the catch is, the battery does not hold charge for a long time. The worst battery I have ever seen. Even if you do not use your phone and all the notifications are disabled, the battery loses the charge quickly.

Best android experience i've had since HTC One M8

I switched back to iPhone 2 years ago and it was starting to get boring as it usually does. I decided to try android again. The best android experience I've ever had was with my HTC One M8. This phone is solid as a brick wall. I've dropped it 3 times already and not a scratch, no connection issues with the network, no lag. Excellent job, Google and LG. The battery life isn't stellar but it's worth it. This phone is awesome for it's price!
