This is better than our old Samsung unit. It's quieter and seems to be better built.

Doesn't dry well, breaks too frequently

I have had this dishwasher for 15 months. It doesn't dry glassware well even when using the separate dry cycle. The LG service tech told me that it was because the EPA banned heating elements in dishwashers to dry the dishes (don't know if it's true, it's just what he told me.)
It has displayed error code E1 twice. The first time was after 5 months of ownership and required a service call. It is displaying the same error code again now and requires another service call. With this error code, the pump will not stop running until the power is turned off at the circuit breaker. A dishwasher at any price, although more so when this expensive, should not be this unreliable.
When it runs, it is audible, but it is as quiet as I think anyone would ever need. It doesn't interfere with listening to the TV in the next room even with the door open between the rooms.

This machine has an electronic sensor. It picks up the fact that there is still moisture in the machine, and has an error message that there is a problem with draining and it STAYS ON until I turn off my circuit breaker. I had a repairman scheduled, but then when I turned the circuit breaker back on, the water dried up, and there was no longer an error message. I had to cancel the repairman because he could see nothing. Now I have been on the phone trying to get Geek Squad to schedule an appointment for 25 minutes and they have yet to figure out what to do. I am thinking that they may have to replace this dishwasher altogether.

Leaves soap residue

The dishwasher can not handle pods. It leaves a white soapy residue on all the dishes. Even using the dual steam option which is the heaviest cleaning option it leaves soapy white water spots on all the dishes. Very disappointed for $1000 dishwasher from Best Buy.

I bought this dishwasher three years ago thinking that if I spent more money on a 'good' dishwasher,, it would last longer. WRONG! The control panel had to be replaced at a cost of almost $400.
