We bought this washing machine a year and a half ago at our old house. We loved it so much that after we moved to tampa we bought a new one exactly the same model. It was highly rated with a consumer magazine. It washes great and very quietly.

Good machine for the average couple

We've had the machine for a couple months now and so far it's worked as expected. It's a good machine for a fair price for folks looking to upgrade their old top loader to a new front loader. The only issue so far was that no one at the store told us about possibly needing a water hammer arrester due to the way the new machines add water. So without water hammer arresters on the water lines to the machine, the pipes will rattle quite a bit and eventually be damaged due to the water hammer. My only other caution to potential buyers is that it's heavy, so access to the installation area should be fairly easy.

    Still Testing

Although we are still testing this out, we are not sure if we are satisfied or not. So far, the machine has leaked several times. In the soap dispenser, there are two levels: normal and maximum. I usually hit the normal mark, but it suds like crazy and leaks from the drain/overflow hole in the back. Not sure if I am operating it correctly or not, as the instructions only cover the bare minimum for operating the machine. I have also had leaking from the door (which I found needs to be cleaned around after every wash) and the soap dispenser drawer, in which the soap suds built up so much that bubbles were flowing out. As I said, I may not be operating it correctly (with correct settings, soil level, etc.), but this has been a pain to deal with. Furthermore, if you are not familiar with front load (which this is our first- and we are not), your clothes will not get very wet, which makes me wonder how they are really getting clean. They roll around in a small amount of water, just enough to moisten the clothes. Again, this makes me a little apprehensive about my clothes really being clean and sanitary. Again, still on the fence. We'll give it a while and see how it goes. If anyone can actually offer some words of advice, comfort, or assistance, I will greatly welcome them :)

This is my 1st front load washer, so it took a little getting used to. Read the manual- smart move. Good to go after that. GET THE PEDESTAL WHEN YOU GET THE WASHER! Our sales associate was very knowledgeable and we took his advice. We are so glad we did. Rising the washer sure saves your back.

I really like how the timer lets you know the amount of time left on your wash. I also really like the amount of options you have for different types of clothes. The washer is very quiet and my clothes/sheets have never felt cleaner. Overall, the washer is great. Great price! A note to those switching from a top load to a front load: I bought this washer online and my washer is located upstairs and requires a drain pan. Thus, no one told me I needed a different size drain pan until the washer was delivered and it couldn't be plugged in. The installation guys won't uninstall/install a drain pan, and I had to go to Home Depot to buy one that would fit (which I had to purchase online because it wasn't available in store), and was unable to get my washer installed until about a week or so later.

Every setting does its job! It cleans, steams, sanitizes, wrinkle care, static removal - you name it, it does it! I haven't found anything about it I don't like. The end of cycle signal has a nice jingle, not a huge fog horn. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Picked this up on sale just after Christmas. What a steal. I see them for at least $150 more each every time I see them. Works like a charm. Haven't tried the steam function yet.

I have had this washer for a couple of months. It was easy to learn the settings and how to change them. Being able to sanitize towels, socks, etc. is a great health benefit too. Still not used to the cycle noises-- it is nothing like my top loader. And I am thrilled.

We bought this as we needed a replacement for our old washer and wanted something to conserve water as we live in drought plagued TX. My wife likes the cleaning ability of the machine and we expect to see a savings on the electrical usage of the dryer as well because the machine does a superb job of removing the water. So far we really like it.

Awesome unit. Did not buy the matching dryer since my HE dryer that I have still works. After about a week of use, I noticed that I had to clean less the lint filter. Meaning my clothing is getting a lot less damaged while still being clean. Now I get to use about half the soap from our old top loader. Be aware when you set the child lock button it will only prevent changes in the setting while being operated NOT THE POWER BUTTON. This will only be an issue if you have kids and no pedestal. I didn't realized that front loaders require cleaning of a soap filter every other month. Other than that, our family is happy with this purchase.

I got this washer on sale for 599. I absolutely love this machine. I am able to wash 3 times the amount of laundry in one load than my old washer. It has a steam function as well as custom setting options. Over all, I'm very happy with this purchase.

A month into the process, this HE washer replaced a long-standing Kenmore that we had in place. This operates in a similar fashion with more features. Thus far, no issues and consistent with the ratings, seems that this will be a fine product.

Awesome washer/dryer It gets clothes cleaner - faster than my old Washer/dryer. You might have a bit of a size problem if you are trying to fit it into a small space. They look great, and they play this AWESOME tone when the clothes are done.

This washer replaced our previous front-loader, which, due to the high cost of water in our area, paid for itself within three years (literally). I am hopeful that the direct-drive, instead of a belt-drive, will mean longer service than the last washer: I had to do several repairs over those nine years of ownership, until the spin bearing (I think) bit the dust. We have not tried out all of the features on this new washer, but it has done a good job so far and has fascinated our children in the process. One minor issue to keep in mind--not a deal-breaker, mind you--is that you have to clean a little plastic filter periodically (twice a month?), which means a little water spilled onto the floor. You are supposed to drain the water first, via a tube (which I did), but there was still some in there. Again, nothing more than an annoyance. Overall, I just hope that the washer lives up to the LG reputation for reliability.

Cleans close very well. They come out fresh and so soft. We washed a load of stained newborn baby clothes and it got every stain out.
