They are both efficient in terms of water and gas. They perform very well with any load of clothes. Each machine is very quite, powerful and great looking too. The only thing you need to be aware of is due to a front loader the washer likes to "walk" meaning during a spin cycle it can vibrate so much it moves itself.

It does a great job with all of the loads we have given it, everything from towels to baby clothes. It required a flip of the comforter we put in it to dry out the center, but that's to be expected.
