I needed something not expensive and that could get the job don. I have a notebook, so I don't have the cd reader. I needed to download our family pictures from the disk we received. It was easy to use which I liked. It hooked up to my notebook very fast and I was downloading in no time.

Basically plug and play. Bought a laptop which didn't come with an optical drive so I bought this along with it. Literally took 5 minutes to install from the moment you open the box to the point of ready for use. Highly recommend. Nice and light weight!

easy to hook up. Worked right away when I plugged it in. It was a little noisier than I thought it would be but not horrible. It seems to be fragile but have been careful with it so not an issue. I don't use it to watch movies so I don't have the issues some have complained of.

I got this as part of the laptop graduation package for my son, in preparation for college. The laptop he chose is very lightweight - and part of that deal is no DVD drive. That's where this product comes in. I was amazed at the price (on sale) so much, I bought another one just for me.

Buying my first laptop without a CD Drive required me to purchase this drive to load some prior material. I've used it a few times and it has been flawless. I noticed it comes with some software but I skipped that and have used it with my Mac without any issues. Small, thin, and lightweight.

This DVD optical drive works well for those who are on the go. The drive is small enough that it is easily portable. Its noise pollution is what to expect from a portable optical drive. All around it is a good optical drive for those who are on the go with a computer without a built in drive.

Most computers today don't include a cdrom drive. I knew when I went looking for a pc I wanted to be able to attach a drive if not included. I have attached an added turbo tax to my new pc. I will also be adding some files from my old pc so I am happy with this purchase. Reasonable price also.

We picked the ASUS brand based on competitive price, the features we wanted, and our son's favorable earlier experience with an ASUS laptop. Our laptop is working well now, but I had some weird difficulties with online installation of the Microsoft Office suite of programs. The process bombed off many times, but finally succeeded. Then, the sound had problems which was fortunately fixed by downloading an updated driver. As for the physical layout, I really don't like the power button being on the side where I would normally grab the laptop to pick it up and move it. And, I'm not sure I've figured out what the machine is doing when I try to switch from laptop mode to tablet mode. It appears to automatically switch to a tablet mode that changes the appearance and the touch sensitivity. I'm sure if I flipped to tablet mode more often, I would get accustomed to the changes and how to change it back, but I normally just use it in laptop mode.

This works well and is worth the price. I have a mac and debated between this and the MAC one for a lot more money. So far it works great. The only issue I have had is ejecting the disk, I am not able to do it manually with the button, but versus moving the disc drive to the eject icon.

The external CD burner is fast and very user friendly. Plug into any standard USB drive and it automatically connects to the computer and is ready within mins. The drive writes information to CD/DVDs very quickly, I can't imagine anything else writing items any quicker.. It is a great buy for the money.

I needed a CD drive so that I could play movies and games on my laptop and this fits the bill. It is small enough that it isn't awkward to use, but effective enough that I don't have any issues with playing my computer games or movies.

This unit is lightweight, thin and very portable. I used it on a laptop and 2-in-1 and it worked great. No setup required, just connect to PC with included cable and your ready to go. Write speeds are not superfast but reasonable and at this price point that's to be expected. Overall a very nice unit.

Had to get this because the new computer I bought did not come with a DVD-drive. I guess the new computers are trying to make their computers sleeker as opposed to focusing on functionality. Anyways, this external DVD-drive works fine as a replacement, very fast, easy-to-use.

As usual, the LG Brand did not let me down. This DVD works great with my Macbook Pro which was also purchased at Best Buy. It truly is ultra slim and is a great accessory to have on hand. Easy to use and convenient to store. Thanks to the Best Buy Sales Rep for the suggestion.

I needed something to be able to play CDs on my MacBook Air for college. This works great! It is small and light, very easy to transport with my laptop with school.

I found this portable dvd rom drive great for installing software on my laptops that lacked the actual cd rom drive, its size and agility is great and the price point is good if not better than online stores. any one who needs a usb dvd/cd rom drive should consider it.

Have only used it a few times, but so far so good. Since new Macbooks don't come with a dvd drive, we wanted to have one for those few times that we need to load software, want to watch a movie or burn a dvd. This fits the bill for all of those things, and at a great price!

I have an iMac with no dvd/cd drive. This LG External USB DVD/CD-RW Drive allows me to move all my family digital archives on DVD & CD to my iMac for viewing and re-archiving. No problems so far and I have moved a lot of material. At a very good price.

After my DVD drive gave out on my computer I went to Best Buy and bought this one. The price was reasonable at around $35. My computer can be finicky with installing and running USB things, but this worked great and I was able to install things from discs and watch movies again. Good buy!
