This DVD/CD drive works well as an external device. The price was good and as expected for this type of device. Older data CDs are read/written well. Music CDs are also read without delays. I am pleased with this unit for home use and have no criticisms of it at this time.

I recently upgraded to a MacBook Pro 2016 with no cd/dvd drive and I bought this to install my older applications that don't have online installers. It looks great, very compact and definitely does the job well. It's a great alternative than buying the apple super drive.

My inexpensive laptop came withiut a DVD player or recorder. This external drive allows me to view DVDs and record in DVD formats. It worked instantly on my daughter's Mac Book. It requires some software for PCs. Very happy to have purchased this useful product!

I recently bought an iMac. They don't have built-in disc drives, so I had to buy this basically for occasionally burning a music cd or to install software programs or whatever. It works like it's supposed to and was relatively inexpensive. Not much else you can say.

This CD/DVD Drive is very portable and fits perfectly into a laptop case. It is really useful to burn CDs or install programs onto a laptop. Today many laptops no longer have a CD Drive, and this Drive is a great solution to that problem and it works without issue.

I really love the size of this dvd drive. I recently purchased a computer without a drive and needed this to install some programs to get the computer up and working. Very simple install and easy to use. Only drawback is the length of the USB cord.

This is a great DVD player. All I had to do was plug it into the computer. No downloads, no uploads, no hassles. It worked the first time and every time since. My grandson watches movies and I can burn files with ease. This is a great buy and one I'd make again.

Like many reviews mention, I have a newer 2-in-1 laptop w/out any drive. I bought this realizing it wouldn't be fantastic quality, because it's a very low price, but I liked that it was so slim & light! I travel and ton & that is crucial. But, I plugged it into my usb & nothing. I couldn't get anything to play. BUT, a visit to my local Best Buy to ask if I was missing something before I returned it, & voila! Best Buy recommends VLC Media Player, a free download. I downloaded, and now every disk just automatically plays when I insert. I think Best Buy should post that w/ the product on their website, so we don't all have to rely on finding the answer in the reviews!

Super easy-to-use external DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive. Can be used for up to 8x DVD±R write speeds. Great for people who need a drive to connect to a computer that does not have an internal DVD/CD Drive. I connected mine to my MacBook Pro easily and fast. Great playback quality.

I bought this because my laptop, like most laptops anymore, doesn't have a disc drive built in. It does a good job in all of the tasks I bought it for, the one downside is that it can be a little loud, but that's too be expected with it being so small.

Great price and performance I was looking for an inexpensive way to solve the problem of downloading older software on the new technology that is not equipped with a DVD device. I would recommend this to anyone that finds himself in the same situation I was

I purchased this product so I could install software and watch movies on my new Surface Pro 4. It was on sale, very compact/light weight, and works great! I only gave it 4 stars because it is a little fragile and may not last a long time.

Since manufactures have decided we no lomger need a dvd player on our computers we have to buy a stand alone. This one is great, small and lightweight. I use it to watch movies where ever I want. Easy to use and works perfect so far.

There isn't anything too tricky about this USB drive, but it was plug-and-play like one would expect and worked very well. It is nice that it can be totally powered via the USB port so an external power supply and outlet isn't required. It seemed pretty fast as well.

Plug and play in Windows 10 (no driver to install), fast and works as described. I basically purchased this to install software that I had on cd since most of the newer laptops do not come with a CDRW drive, I'm assuming to save cost as well as save battery power.

I purchased this to use on a MacBook Pro (have to get an adapter, I already had one) and we also use it on a secondary PC sometimes. Cheap and flimsy but fully functional and easy to use. It's not much larger than a hard CD case.

The installation of the external CD drive was easy to do and works great! I am so glad I made the purchase. Now I can pop my photo cds in and enjoy looking at my photos. It was very affordable and I have been using it more than I thought I would.

I didn't have high hopes due to past experiences with another brand and I was pleasantly surprised! I've had no issues at all and I use it daily! Also fits in every laptop sleeve I own right along with my laptop. This is nicely priced and preforms very well.

I like this CD drive as it is very thin and takes up only a little space. I bought it because my new computer does not have a CD drive which I use periodically. It seems to be slightly noisy but that does not affect its efficiency.

While DVDs have disappeared from PCs they still in coming as a handy item when trying to transfer data; And this is a reasonably priced unit not only for loading programs by DVD but transferring by DVD burner at a great price with the bonus of being portable.
