Had to buy this after realizing my new laptop did not have a CD/DVD player. Works fine. Easy to use, small and thin enough to pack and travel with. Haven't used in a while, but I don't think there's any light indicator to show its on/connected/working. Thus 4 not 5 stars.

Bought it for my macbook. Much cheaper than Apple.

No problems. Just plug and use. It would be nice if they added networking capability to a low cost unit like this one. I tried attaching it to USB ports on my printer but it was not visible. Hence, it's only available to the unit to which it is directly plugged into unless I've missed a unique case.

Great product that's lightweight and very portable

Needed to view DVD for class and Apple note book didn't have one. Instead of spending extra for an apple product decided to use The LG from Best Buy. So far no problems

Not much to say beyond the headline. I bought this for use with a new laptop (ultrabook) that did not include a built-in optical drive. It replaced an old external optical drive that I frankly did not take good care of. I've used this to install software that I only have available on DVDs, and I did so without issue.

When I received it even though I had read the specs, was amazed at how thin it is. Plugged it in and was up and running! Files started flying! I spot checked the files and didn't find any errors.

I gave this DVD drive a 4 out of 5 stars mainly because even though the drive works as expected it is pretty slow, however for the price you cant beat the deal. This drive is great to use if you have a table with a USB port and you need to install a disc or something. It was used on a MS Surface tablet and it worked without a hitch. I would recommend this to a friend since is practical, inexpensive and a good bargain for the money.

Purchased a new laptop that did not have a disk drive. Purchased this one for when installing programs that I have on disk and to use for watching dvd or writing disks. Nice and small, easy to store.

Ill be honest, I wanted the Dell version that was supposedly in stock, but the employee seemed uninterested in searching for it elsewhere besides the shelf & although I was aware of this one & sale price, I wanted to stay within Dell as I have a new Dell 2-in-1. Well I wasn;t disappointed! Great device!

I bought this so that k could show movies in my class. It connected easily and started working immediately. I have had zero issues with the device and the price point was perfect for what I needed.

I have a lot of sewing design disc that i needed to copy onto a hard drive. Since newer laptops do not come with cd drives anymore I had to buy this, It works well, fast, portable, does the job.

I bought this in conjunction with an HP Slim for my daughter. The HP does not have a DVD/CD driver included. The only issue thus far, is that it won't work with the software included with the HP Slim; one must download VLC Media Player program to open the CD driver. Once that is done you are go to go.
