Plug in via USB and you have a no fuss CD DVD R/W add on. You don't think you need a CD/DVD drive when buying new slim laptops or notebooks, but then you do! Great price and product.

The drive is functional and easy to use but was a bit cumbersome to set up. It's also noisy. But not bad for the price. I like it.

Great product as expected. Have been a PC user for a number of years. After switching to the MacBook, I do not regret the decision. I just regret not making the switch sooner. It is very user friendly and being able to use the same system throughout all of my devices is an added bonus.

We have many mini video cassettes of our kids growing up that we were afraid we wouldn't be able to play anymore once the camera died. This little unit did a wonderful job of converting them to video files that I saved to an external drive. Was worth every penny to save those memories. Thanks, LG!

I still believe it is important to import those old CDs into music libraries as well as have a drive available to watch an older movie or that random piece of software. One of these in the house and you got that covered for all your computing needs - and don't need to have drives in each device.

I first tried to read the instructions. Got muddled in installing stuff I new nothing about. Took it to Geek Squad and they told me I didn't need any of the software in the package (all I do is play CD and DVD). So I de-installed the extra stuff and it is serving my needs very well.

Good price on this useful accessory. My household had 3 smaller notebooks that don't have optical drives, so this has been very handy for our family. Very lightweight and easy to use.

I like this because I prefer to have a disc backup of a program rather it all being online. This device allows me to easily plug it into my computer and it'll load the disc I put into it and eject it. Easy and reassuring.

This is simply a good basic drive that I can throw in my briefcase with my mac air to have a drive if needed. It is light but has a large footprint. I can live with the larger size at half the price of an Apple brand.

I bought this trying to save money and avoid the hassle of installing software to my mac. You can plug in and just go. The drive is very portable and doesn't take up much space.

Our laptop doesn't have a DVD player/writer and I wanted to add some music on old DVD's to iTunes, so I bought this unit. Reasonably priced, easy to hook up and use---love it!!

I'm very, very disappointed in my new Apple iMac. Not so much the computer, but the stupid updated and believe me, NOT improved. Pages is now complicated to the point I feel like I have a Microsoft computer with their horrible programs. If I wanted a Microsoft computer, I would have bought one. The iPhoto program is another program that is horrible now, too. I would love to be able to get the old Pages program from my old iMac onto this new iMac, and the same with iPhoto. I can't even figure out how to set up an iPages page without pulling my hair out. I'm still getting the 'circle-of-slowness' on this iMac - that's the reason I got a new iMac - my old one was doing that constantly. Feel free to share my opinion with Apple as I don't know how to reach anyone there.

This thing is awesome it works perfectly for all of my Mac computers and all of my windows computers. I haven't had one issue yet! Totally awesome how it can burn and play DVD+R DL

Considering the price, this is basic external CD/DVD drive that works. For some who use external drive extensively, might want to consider higher end product that will endure wear & tear of the drive. Others who use infrequently (once in a while), this LG might fit the bill.

Needed an external DVD drive because the one on my laptop is broken. This is compact, easy to install, user friendly. Fits in my laptop case so portable. So far works great!

I did some research on this product and was pretty happy to receive it for Christmas. It's great with blu-rays and dvds. Only complaint is the premium content is a small selection and either doesn't have option for more or I can't figure it out. Otherwise great though!

Very pleased with this battery charger. I purchased it for my husband because he is a truck driver and always on the road. If he leaves his car charger at home he has this in his backpack now! It holds its charge for 3-5 days when he uses it and longer when he does not use it!

The LG - Ultra Slim 8x Max is a low cost portable CD drive that connects through the USB port and support CD use. Since many of the tablets and "skinny laptops" do not provide an onboard CD dive, the Ultra Slim is an ideal options. This CD dive has worked just fine for me.

I bought this drive to use with my laptop since the onboard drive stopped working. I found the USB drive light weight plug and play. I would recommend this drive to others.

I bought a new laptop that doesn't have a CD drive. I needed something to get programs on to my new computer. This is small and lightweight and fits nicely in my travel bag.
