Very good value and portability

Sometimes I bring the drive along on trips for viewing dvd's or playing cds from my MacBook Air. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because sometimes I have to access finder to manage the disk drive, but that is really a minor inconvenience.

Portable, Quiet, and Affordable

I was looking for a light weight and nothing fancy. This one fit under our budget and does the job. It was very quiet and didn't get too warm when we watched two full length movies in a row. Graphics is just fine. We had to download a movie player, but it was easy to install and easy to use.

Great DVD drive for your basic needs.

And her tablet didn't have a DVD drive for her DVDs. So we purchased the drive. Downloaded a media player, and away it went. Smooth sailings, plus easy instructions. Not a super mobile friendly item but great to set down and use stationary wise. Worked well on the plane :)

Seems like a decent DVD drive

It works fine and it's quite inexpensive compared to other brands in the market. It is very lightweight. It seems a bit flimsy.....I don't use it very much, so it's fine for me, but I don't know how well it will perform or how long it will last for a heavy user.

My criteria was to plug it in to a Linux Mint desktop running on a 2TB USB and see if it could write a DVD. It worked right away. I then plugged it to a Windows desktop and again successfully wrote a DVD and CD with it successfully. The one from Amazon hung my system and I could not boot.
