Very easy to connect and use. I like the compact size.

I bought the LG external DVD reader/writer, because Best Buy didn't have any apple drives in stock. It works fine with my new MacBook Pro laptop. I have used the it quite a bit installing programs. It hasn't missed a beat. I used the rewards I got buying the MacBook and it only cost me $15.00. The apple drive was 70.00. Great deal!

I spend a lot of time on the road with work, and now that it's common for laptops NOT to have CD drives, I needed something to take with me. This is compact, lightweight, and works perfectly. Doesn't necessarily work with all TVs, but the instructions clearly say that. Very happy with this very affordable option!

Nice external dvd drive ,works fine, faster ,easy to use

In this day day of large solid state hard drives and super-fast internet speeds, it's easy to forget how amazing CDs and DVDs were as storage media less than 10 years ago. Chances are your new laptop doesn't even have an optical disc drive, so what do you do when you want to digitize a CD? Or watch a DVD? Or review a report archive that someone gave you for safekeeping in 2012 on a CD? How will you re-install Adobe Creative Suite 6.0 from a DVD now that your laptop no longer has an internal DVD drive? Voila! This LG unit is perfect for all of the above. It's not especially rugged, but, it isn't at all heavy either. It's very slim form factor makes it easy to slip into even the tightest laptop carrying sleeve or move from laptop to laptop as necessary. It's write-capable, but, face it, with their relatively paltry storage limits, I'm not using CDs or DVDs for mix tapes or data archiving at this point.The only shortcoming iI see is it doesn't support Blu-ray discs, but I have stand-alone smart-players that can handle that on a big-screen.

I haven't got into using it to much quite yet. But is EXTREMELY lightweight & small! Quiet. Perfect for on the go. Only thing I haven't liked thus far was that I couldn't eject by pushing the open button on the unit. I had to actually go & click eject on my computer. But for the price, NO Complaints here.

Light, good brand, nice design, really portable....

My laptop did not have a disk drive built in . With many DVDs from year past and the need to load borrowed CDs and things like Turbo tax it was a relief to be able to capture the downloads. once connected the drive loaded all my DVDs successfully without incident. Easy to use.

This device works great for what it is -- el-cheap-o. Didn't want to invest in anything expensive, but wanted to be able to put my already owned software on my new ssd laptop. Don't expect this to be high end, it is all plastic, but it worked super. Plug and play, happy day!!

The external drive links very quickly and it's performance is impressive. My laptop's internal drive failed and this option was way more economic than having someone open up my unit and maybe fix the issue. This way I was guaranteed a solution to my problem 100%. Recommend this product as a great purchase.

It is slim and really easy to use works really well.

My DVD drive on my laptop died and I needed to load new software. Purchasing an external DVD drive for $39 sounded a lot better than taking my laptop to be repaired - a lot quicker too. I purchased the drive, plugged it in and it worked immediately. I've only used it once or twice, but I have no complaints.
