I went to find out about my DVD/CD Writer in my computer. The Geek squad recommended to buy a new writer. The Best Buy associate said that the Slim Writer was easy to use and would be a great replacement. I brought it home, plugged into my USB and have ha no problems whatsoever. It is perfect for me because I am not that tech savvy.

Works as intended, slim design. Does not make much noise.

I would prefer if the DVD writer would be in the computer. So many gadgets to keep up with but I understand the reason for it. So many programs are now downloads. However I still have several things that I needed the DVD drive to access them. So I am glad there was a gadget for that purpose. It is very easy to use.

I bought this external drive for my 13" macbook air. I was debating between this and the apple usb superdrive. Needless to say this product is more than capable of delivering all of your needs at a competitive price. Glad I didn't blow the money on the superdrive.

Great external DVD drive that's slim & light for travel.

I needed an external drive and was limited on money, so when I saw this I was excited. It's simple, easy to use, and priced right!! It's light weight and takes up very little space. I highly recommend it.

my lg external slim dvdwr/cdwr drive is just what the doctor ordered.it is a valuable tool for i make many dvd and music cd's for my later viewing and listening pleasure.this writer is what i come to expect from the brand LG,and was very happy with my purchase.would buy more from LG and recommend it to others

Fast simple optical drive. Easy to use. Very portable .

Picked this up because my new laptop doesn't have a built-in disc drive. Works great for burning and downloads. Doesn't feel like an external devise. Little to no lag.

This burner drive is the perfect size and price. It takes up very little space and all parts required are inside the box. The drive does exactly what it is supposed to do, simple and easy.

Im just glad it brought some extras. The cyberlink CD includes like 4 different application. From backup to CD ripping software, it really makes it a great buy. I basically got it free after using the visa checkout promo ($25 off $100). Bought it with a 2tb portable hardrive, perfect for my brand new ultrabook.

very slim and portable easy to connect and inexpensive

I bought this external drive DVD player soley to play movies on my laptop when traveling. The employee at time of purchased assured me that this work for that purpose. The DVD player worked great until the 30th day when I received a message that my 30 day trial period had expired. I didn't realize I had a 30 day trial period to play movies. And they wanted to charge me a minimum of $59.95 to download the required software. Prior to making this purchase I had to call my IT guy and he downloaded a free software program. The DVD player now works fine. This purchase was very misleading.

My newest 2 in 1 Yogo Pro doesn't have a disc drive so I purchased this LG DVD Writer after the best buy computer clerk recommended it. He said it was a good value and worked well. He was right. However, if you want to play Blue-Ray's, you will need to buy a more expensive DVD player. He told me that as well!

It is slim and light, fits in my laptop bag just great

This DVD drive is very functional and a must have for a newer laptop that no longer have internal CD drives. The drive is a little noisy but is very compact. It would be nice if more brands of portable DVD drives were available in the store but this one will work very well when needed.
