I like the small size, its really light and it runs quietly although a bit on the slow side, my old laptop had a faster dvd drive than this one but considerately noisier. All in all, this drive does what it's made for, with a great price to boot.

Was looking for an external drive since my laptop drive stopped working. Looked around at Best Buy and found this. Bought it, plugged it into the laptop and put a disc in. Worked like a champ, super simple and easy to use. Great option rather than buying a new laptop just because the disc drive quit working.

Great product for the money, does everything I need to do with my new laptop and I just plug it in on demand.. Install programs, burn CDs / DVDs , watch movies. Basically anything I need to do with and drive.

My new laptop does not have a CD drive and I needed one to complete some very simple tasks and to access files I have on disks. Spoke with Geek Squad member and, for what I was going to do, recommended this drive. It is perfect, nothing fancy, plug in the USB, waited less that minute to install and went on with my work.

I needed to download something from DVD quickly and found this at Best Buy. I plugged it in and it worked right away no problems. It was relatively inexpensive so I am happy with the purchase. I am sure I will need it again sometime. I tried it on my work laptop and got the same results.

With more and more companies dumping optical drives I was concerned about having to purchase an outside one. The price was right so I bought this and haven't been disappointed. It's rock solid and dependable. Don't let the price or the plastic feel of the unit fool you. It's worth it.

The external optical drive is very useful because many of the higher end laptops don't come with CD/DVD drives. I have a Win10 tablet with no optical drives but with this I can store and /or transfer files or programs. I'm shopping for a gaming laptop and most of them do not have optical drives.

This is a fantastic external disc drive! One caution - if you want to download software to a Surface Pro 3, you may need the USB cable that allows you to splice in another USB drive (plug that into a USB charger brick because the Surface only has ONE USB port). Not this drive's fault... Surface doesn't send enough power.

I recently bought a gaming computer, and as you may or may not know, most dont come with a cd/dvd drive. I saw this at a great price by a good brand, so i bought it. Works just fine. Basically plug and play.. the disc that comes with it just contains burning software and such. Very happy with product.

Writes discs very quickly and is great for laptops.

Purchased this drive for the new Dell systems that aren't much bigger that a 2 x 5 x 7 inch book, but no way to install software except via USB drive. Purchased this drive and it runs from the USB port and works great. Haven't tried writing to the drive, but it reads CD and DVD's for software loading without a problem.

Purchased this drive because my laptop did not have cd drive. So far it has worked out easy to get laptop to set up and use will know more as I use iy longer big help to me instead of downloading drivers online I can use the disc to install equipment.

I simply needed a cheap, but effecient CD Drive to hook up to my new laptop that did not have one for a college course. I only had one college course so I did not want to spend alot of money. The associates were very helpful in pointng me into the direction of the LG. It does everything I need and did not break the bank.

I got this for the rare occasion that I might need to read an optical disk on my ultrabook, so it's not something I use often. As there isn't much to these drives they are quite inexpensive, so it doesn't hurt to have one available if needed. This LG is perfectly adequate, and gets the job done.

Easy and lightweight, slim and portable for trips.

Good product for its value but in order to work with my Surface Pro 4, I did not know and not made aware I had to download VLC media player from Google and not the one offered on the Windows Store which is not the same version and will not work. Once installed, it worked good.
