Notebooks these days do not come with a CD/DVD player. U still have to access the good ol disks once in a while. This drive is small, light and fast. Great accessory to have.

The LG Ultra slim 8x max is as its name implies slim and compact and works wonderfully. I am extremely happy with the product and the price I paid. It's a great deal.

Was looking for a DVD Player / Burner. While browsing the store I came upon the Lg - Ultra Slim 8x Max. Dvd Write Speed External Usb Dvd±rw/cd-rw DVD players and thought I'd try this one. The price was fair. So far, I have not had any issues. Very lite and It runs quite. The trial software program is a 30 day trial. Would like a more permanent software that is used since you do pay for the DVD player. Overall the product is good, as well as portable.

It is easy to use: Just plug it in and it is quickly ready to use. It is inexpensive, very light weight, and about as compact as these could ever get.

This gets used with my laptop/tablet, a desk top, and our in-home server. No problems. Lightweight. Easily fits in a small laptop case.

I wanted an optical reader for my ultralight laptop that wouldn't add a lot of bulk to my briefcase when traveling. I have had no trouble with skipping when viewing DVDs and listening to books on CD from the library. The unit is slim and fits into my briefcase easily; the connection cord is short, which reduces bulk as well. The rubber foot pads on the bottom does a good job of keeping the lightweight unit in place on any surface including my granite counter top in the kitchen. No complaints, works as expected.

this light weight external dvd drive is perfect for my mac and windows computers. it's easy to handle and priced reasonably. i'm happy with it.

I purchased this DVD drive as the Gaming PC I purchased did not have a drive bay. I have to say it is nice and compact. Portable and works great.

This DVD/CD unit is extremely practical as it's small, usb powered and works fine. Do not expect a fast performance on reading because it's slow, like most internal optical drives found in notebooks, but it's the best option if you just use a dvd/cd not on regular basis, the price is around $25/30 and it'll do the same job of the $80 Apple Superdrive. If you plan to keep it on your desktop the look and feel of Apple drive is a lot better, but if you need it for a casual usage go with the cheaper LG.

My new laptop computer didn't have a CD/DVD RW built -in. This external drive seems to be working well and it was inexpensive.

My laptop did not come with a built in CD drive. At first I wasn't too worried, but as time went on, I realized I needed one. Using a MAC, the first thing I thought of was going with another MAC product. Once at the store, I was faced with many items at a range of prices. After speaking with a store associate and explaining what I needed, I decided on this drive. Installation is simple, plug and play. The drive is quiet and fast. I'm very happy.

Imagine my surprise when I bought a new laptop, got home and couldn't load a disc. I hadn't bought a new laptop in over a decade, a lot has changed. I needed an external optical drive that wasn't expensive. This is the little gem I bought. It's pretty quiet and transfer speed is great. Aesthetically it is simple and elegant. It had every thing I needed to basically plug and play. I may have had to run software, but it was sinple; no muss, no fuss. Stored it back in its box when finished.

I'm one of those apparent dinosaurs who still prefer physical cd's over mp3 albums when available. Interestingly enough I will then take the cd's and convert them to mp3's to be able to listen to on a variety of devices. A lot of computers no longer come with cd drives, so I needed to get this to do my mp3 conversions. Looks great. Works great. Great price. So far, so good. I bought this because the disk drive in my all-in-one PC went out on me. I was looking for something that was plug and play and would be able to download some CD's onto my PC. This really did a nice job. It was very easy to set up, seriously just plug and play! I used it to download about 50 CD's, and it worked like a champ. it feels kinda cheap, so I had my concerns, but it had held up to the workload so far. I think I paid about $40, so I am very happy with the purchase.

My CD burner on my laptop went out so I had to get a new one but I didn't wanna wait & order the wrong kind since every laptop is different so I went to best buy and found the Lg portable burner. It works great plus I can take it anywhere & even watch movies on it when I connect it to my Lg smart TV. It's a great tool to have handy
