plug and play works great, no hassle setting it up. I just plugged it in and started playing a dvd. Perfect for computers with no DVD installed.

Very inexpensive upgrade to laptops or other PCs without a data drive. Installed easily and is very light weight and portable. I can now easily install programs from disk versions without need to connect online to download software. Saves money, since disk versions of software can be used on multiple computers.

This DVD connects easily to the USB 3.0 ports on my windows 10 hp envy. Generating the 3 recovery disks was pretty quick. A big disappointment was no supported video playback from commercial dvds. I'm hoping mpg4 will work but it's no surprise that Microsoft want to download from their store

Got new laptop and wanted a drive to burn music CDs. This was on sale and other reviews seemed good. Does exactly as needed. No software required. Plugged into Lenovo laptop with Win10 and good to go. One tip...gets noisy when running. I placed empty box on top and no more rattle.

Needed one of these for my new laptop, which had none. Installed all my programs without a hitch. I was unable to load the contents of a disk on my laptop from the website, so I copied the files onto another computer, and then networked to copy the installation files onto the laptop. Worked fine.

I was purchasing a new laptop and was confused by so many. The gentlemen that helped me was very knowledgeable and suggested I get an external cd. I had no idea there was one. I like that better as it makes the laptop much lighter. And it is versatle to use with my tv etc.

Bought specifically to add to my Mac Mini to allow me to watch DVD movies. Brought it home, plugged it in and within minutes I was watching DVDs. Easy to install and works very well. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an easy to setup and use DVD drive!

I am using Linux Mint 18.1. I plugged the drive into my laptop USB port. I didn't need to install any drivers. I just fired up Handbrake and was able to rip a number of DVDs without any problems. Note: I have not tried the write feature on this device so I can not comment on that aspect.

I recently bought 3 of these external DVD players for my girls computers. They use them five days a week for eight hours a day. They work perfectly and we love them :) I would recommend them to all.

This drive has been reliable and has played any disk I have tried. It is very light and makes travelling a breeze. It does feel a bit flimsy, but works and what would one expect at this price!!

The LG external DVD drive is great with two laptops in my house. An ASUS and a Lenovo Yoga work easily with this drive. I wish it was USB 3.0 to make it a little faster. It works well with program and music CDs and is fast writing backups. I haven't used it to watch DVD yet so I can't comment on that feature.

Set up was difficult as I needed to find a program to allow the DVD player to work on my Mac. The included disc was of no help because it only works for Windows. Once I found an appropriate program, it worked great. It definitely makes some noise, but it's not unbearable.

I wasn't sure which product would work best for my needs, but when I went to the store, the sales person was extremely helpful in recommending this product. It is very easy to use! I purchased this in order to install some software on my MacBook Pro that does not have a DVD drive. It worked very well for the intended purpose. I was also very excited to find it on sale since it was one of those things that I didn't really want to buy but, however, found that I needed to.

My new laptop did not come with a disk drive. I needed to describe so did a little bit of research and found this one receive decent ratings and was a decent price. When I got it home it was so simple to connect and be functional on my laptop. I've had no issues with it since I connected it.

I have a PC and a Mac...and needed a reader/writer that works on both. This little jewel fits the bill perfectly, works quietly, and didn't the bank. And it's small enough to carry anywhere.

THis product was easy to unbox and actually use. No software is required to use. Just pop in a dvd or cd and use away. My daily usage for it includes watching movies on my macbook air that does not have a cd port, and also downloading cd's onto itunes using my macbook air as well.

I purchased this Disc drive for school. It was simple to install and use. I purchased a computer without an internal drive, knowing I would need an external. The person at Best Buy was great at showing me the options. I chose this one, as I did not need anything that did special tricks. I am highly satisfied!
