I purchased this USB DVD drive for use with my new Dell laptop that does not have a built in drive. I use it primarily to import audio CDs for use with my iPhone. The drive is well built and works great. If you have the occasional need for a DVD drive, this one is an excellent choice.

I purchased this item because the burner on my computer went out. I work a lot with pictures and I will burn a load to a cd or dvd. I also make copies for family members. I eventually plan on replacing my computer, but until then I purchased this external dvd writer. It is very thin and simple to use. It's pretty quiet too. My only problem was figuring out how to make the external drive my preferred choice when burning a dvd. It took me a few minutes, but I figured it out and it works great!

I took my pc in because the disc drawer would not open. Since I was in the middle of a project sending the pc to the mfg for repair was not an option. Geek Squad representative suggested this as an alternate fix. So glad I went with this option! The external drive is very slim, takes up no space, and although I haven't explored all the things it will do, I know that just getting thru my project is just the beginning. I'm a "zero-tech" user so installing the drive was one of my concerns - was so easy I wasn't sure it would work, but it did/does. Waiting til' the kids have time to show me all I can now do with a working drive,

If you still have a few old dusty CDs or DVDs laying around that haven't been converted to flash this will do the trick nicely. Performs almost as well as an internal of the same speed rating, is lightweight but strong enough to feel durable and not cheap. Worth the price IMO.

My original laptop cd/dvd player got stuck and I don't own any other source to play dvd's so I purchased this as an alternative and I've been very pleased with it's use and ease. If you need something on the fly, this is a great choice as opposed to expensive repairs or replacing your laptop prematurely.

I purchased this product because it was recommended to me in the event that my MacPro had issues. Well my daughter spilled water on it and it died. I was able to download all the info from my damaged MacPro to the newer one I purchased with no problem. I'm so glad that I purchased it.

Small, lightweight, low cost and worked great for loading software but cant get it play a dvd. Don't know if I am doing something wrong but looks like I am going to need help from the geek squad. I have an HP stream 13 laptop.

Purchased this because I wanted my kids to be able to watch DVDs on my computer, which no longer has a CD drive. I've also used it to download music from CDs into iTunes, and we've saved some pictures to DVD as extra backup as well. This product is simple to use and works great.

Thin laptops no longer have CD players internally, but I often do presentations in which I need to utilize a CD. This compact player hooks up easily to both my home and work laptops (different brands), and the player is lightweight and easily portable.

So many of the new laptops come without a CD/DVD drive these days. You don't NEED one if you are going to download everything but...if you do (and I do) this LG unit is a great choice. Just connect through a USB and you are ready to go!

I have always wanted a laptop for traveling which could supplement the demands I have with my home desktop computers. I needed adequate speed, online connectivity, and the power to run several major power hungry programs. This computer met all those demands with several bonus points not mentioned.

as a macbook retina owner, sometimes I need an external disc drive. i purchased this one because of the price at the time ($25). i wish it was faster when it comes to ripping cds to flac but it gets the job done at a very good price so i'd recommend it just for that.

Set up was quick and easy. I needed this because my DVD drive is bad and I needed to transfer music to iTunes from CDs. If I were to use it for playing DVDs it may be too loud. Great for what I bought it to do. Thanks Best Buy - sales tech who helped me was awesome!

The DVD Drive performs as expected and as advertised. My paralegal uses the drive to play recorded telephone calls while simultaneously reviewing documents--classic multi-tasking. The drive essentially allows her to do two jobs at once. Good for her; better for me and our client.

My laptop has no disc drive so I bought this one in order to use the instruction disc for my wireless router and to use for anything else that requires a disc drive. It's does just what it's supposed to do and was a very good price.

I've only used it a couple times. no problems. Plugged right into the usb. My only problem i have found with it so far is the top is so thin, don't set anything on it, I think it may crush. So i sit up vertically when I'm not using it to keep it out of the way.

I bought this computer in the store. My #1 need was the computer had to lightweight. After looking at all the small laptops (including Macs) I chose this one and have never regretted it. Love the feel of the keyboard, power usage is great and the display is remarkable. I appreciate its versatility.

basic unit, spins fast, does job as expected. no bells or whistles, but thats not what it promises. a bit light and potentially flimsy, so I won't play frisbee with it, hopefully when fido knocks it on the floor, it doesn't shatter. probably not, overall just fine.

I purchased this DVD drive after I bought my new 2n1 laptop that didn't come with an optical drive and this model didn't disappoint! Very easy to use and the laptop recognized it immediately which made it very easy to start using right out of the box. Highly recommend this product!

I bought this for a relative. I did the setup as well as the testing to make sure it works. We setup the disk drive on a new iMac. It was quick, easy and works just fine. The device is plastic so it doesn't have a luxurious feel, but it does what t is supposed to do.
