I was looking for an external dvd player for my niece because the laptop I purchased for her did not have a dvd drive. This one is perfect, it was on sale & allows her to watch movies in her dorm room. I am pleased with my purchase.

Current computing devices have moved beyond the CD/DVD format, but there are still a few applications that rely on a removable disk. The LG Slim External Drive is an economical, reliable companion to the newer generation computers.

I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of this dvd player. Best Buy pricing is competitive with online retailers and I found that the extended warranty is a good option and worth the investment on a high-use portable product.

I purchased the external DVD/CD RW device as none of my laptops have a DVD/CD device. I have used it a handful of times and so far it has performed very well. It has a small footprint so it would be easy to take with me for business.

Computers seem to be getting smaller and thinner and even smaller yet. Even though I had to buy an external disc reader to use on my super small and thin computer, this was a great product to choose. No problems, gets the job done.

Bought this with my MacBook since it doesn't come with a disk drive. Much cheaper then the apple version, works on windows as well and if your TV has a USB port, it'll work as a DVD player!

With most laptops coming without a built in cd/dvd this is a decent choice for times when you need one. It looks nice but is a bit noisy and the drawer feels rough to open and close, It does do what you need it it to.

This is my second portable DVD/CD reader/writer. I use it for making CDs for client handouts as well as watching movies. It's a great way to make multiple copies of the CDs and the gentle whirring lets you know it is writing. CDs with documents are a great way to save paper too. Just don't let it sit out when not in use as dropping it can cause it to mess up sooner and break. A lot cheaper than buying a laptop with DVD/CD drive!

These drives are becoming more and more obsolete, and me new PC didn't have one installed so I made this my first external writer. It did the trick. I would give it 5 stars, but it operates louder than I would like.

After years without having a reason to burn a DVD, I finally needed to. I picked up this DVD Burner and plugged it into my Apple laptop. It was instantly recognized and burned right away without having to install any software.

These come in handy considering not a lot of laptops come with disc drives now and serves its purpose for those custom built PCs that have huge water cooling system and do not allow for a disc drive to be installed.

This product has worked very well especially for its price. The only complaint is that I could not find the correct code to download the software that came with the product.

Small, easy to carry with you when you don't have a cd rom on you laptop. Allows you to play disc as well as as save information to a disc.

I am surprised how well this external disk drive works. I only wish I had gotten it sooner as its way better then the CDROM my laptop came w. I highly recommend this product. 5 stars.

"Never had a problem loading it for use. Win 10 made it easy to install. I did not use the install disc that came with it. So far no problems and it's been over a month of hard use and even being banged around in my laptop case.

I got this for my new 2 in 1 laptop. It didn't have a CD/DVD drive as it is so thin so getting one of these was a must. It works fine but is a little loud. The price was right though and I'm happy with it as it works just fine!

Pleased with this purchase. I didn't think I would like having this separate from the dvd drive on previous computer. Sales gentleman encouraged me in this, as he felt I would be pleased after I got used to it. Now, I believe I like it better.
