I needed something to connect to my iMac and this seems to fulfill my needs. It's not as pretty but it's half the price of the Apple Superdrive. Basically just plugged in the USB and it was ready to go. Works great, very slim & compact and easy to use. What more can you say? It does what it's supposed to.

Plug and start using right away. Price was good! So far it has even worked on a 2&1/2 inch cd which my iMac won't accept!

I wanted a cheap drive to use with my Macbook 15". And something that was easy to use, cheap, and nice. Worth the $$$, runs great.

I have a mac mini so I checked reviews to make sure it works with it. It's plug and play so I was happy with that. I had a couple issues with it in the beginning because the apple dvd player kept saying unexpected error. They must have done an update because that stopped after about a month and I have never had an issue since. Very seamless and works perfectly on Mac. I only chose this over the apple drive because I like the force eject option and the apple drive does not have that.

I found this DVD writer so very easy to use! The hardest thing to do with this DVD writer is to take the DVD writer out of the box! You can start burning DVD's or CD's right out of the box. If your computer does not have a DVD writer built into it, get this one. This recommendation comes from someone who teach computer challenged people to use computers, printers, usb drives, and DVD writers for a living.

Works with both Macs and PCs. It is simple to use and a lot cheaper than buying the Apple version with no downside.

DVD drive installs very easy physically and Windows 10 recognizes the drive immediately. The major shortfall is the worthless software and the adds contained in the software. I am not impressed or did I desire the advertisements - pure junk. This is a major shortfall with Windows based components, since the components work very well - yet the "extra" junk software just degrades the computers performance. Overall I am stil very satisfied

Device worked great and was discovered by Win8, win7, and win10 by plug and play function. Device worked flawlessly and am totally happy with the purchase. The only drawback was the cost which was a little high, but this drive will work for the next 10 years. LG is a mainstream brand and I would prefer LG vice something half the price that would have marginal performance.. No manual for the drive and I found the manual was not necessary at all. Would buy again. c

This DVD drive works great and is easy to use. It is small, lightweight and easy to pack in your laptop case.

I do a lot of traveling and am always forgetting my expensive apple external disc drive because I don't want to damage it. When I'm away, I don't always have internet but will rent a redox movie, so i bought this more affordable drive as a travel one and it works just as well as my expensive one! If it accidentally gets flipped upside down while playing, an error incurs, but that doesn't happen often. I'd buy it again!

I tried HP, Dell, and few others 2-3 times the price 60-80 dollars, but they stopped working after a month or so. LG is the cheapest and smoothest with least noise and still working after 3 months. The only reason I'm using it to convert my very large number of music cd's to iTunes, safest place to store music.My entire Radiohead, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Chris Cornell, Nirvana, and too many others that I've saved.

I recently purchased a new lap top. As in most new laptops there is no built in CD/DVD drive. I'm old fashioned. I want to reach out to that software disc and have it present in case of emergencies. With this easy to use inexpensive external drive you always are able to reload that valuable piece of software. Of course it is also useful for music as well prerecorded DVDs as well. The drive is also flat enough to fit into an average laptop bag.

My fairly new computer's media drive quit working so I headed to Best Buy to find my options. Very friendly staff explained what was available and found several options for me to choose from. I chose this model and am very happy with it. Easy to install and use, no problems and now I am not fighting my computer's media drive, trying to keep it running. Very happy with the service and the advice I received.

It's compact and at a great price. The drive is fast and quite and just overall excellent product.
