Positives: Because the computer is optimized for Microsoft software, the speed of processing is amazing, since there is not a ton of bloat-ware installed to make it work. The screen has sharp definition and a lot of features have been rethought, like the sleek magnetic power plug that practically leaps into position. Same with the keyboard, which is incredibly easy to attach and dis-attach, and again, attaches magnetically. The size is darn near perfect - it's as big as you can get and still count as a tablet, so even though I use it as my every day laptop, I don't have to take it out when I go through airport screening. The attachable keyboard is "Chiclet" style and I found it to be easier to type on than either my old laptop or a standard desktop keyboard. Negatives: They really screwed up with the touch pad. There are not separate left and right buttons, and it is very difficult to click the left and right hand corners at the bottom of the pad without simultaneously inadvertently moving the cursor, meaning, I end up clicking on a lot of things I didn't intend to. I guess they were trying to copy the I-pad but it just doesn't work properly. The problem is solved with a blue-tooth mouse, but when I travel, I hate to have to bring that along, and on an airplane tray, it's virtually impossible to maneuver. The other negative is the Microsoft App store is pretty pathetic. There are so many apps I used to use that don't show up as available. Hopefully over time they will expand that inventory, but my fear is Microsoft is purposefully filtering out apps. All in all, I am very happy with it, and I guess if they ever figure out a better touch pad on the detachable keyboard, I can always replace just that.

Our business is in a rural area and Internet is pretty darn slow. I had to get a new Quickbooks Pro 2015 program for my Surface 3, because of Windows 10. Getting the external disc drive made life so much easier.

Bought this to replace my DVD/CD drive on my computer and it does just want I need it to do and more. I can now rip my cd's to the computer and backup hard files for safe keeping. Easy to setup too.

I had previously purchased a different brand that said it didn't need software, etc., but could never get it to work. This one worked great and was not difficult to figure out how to write a CD.

I recommend the drive for anyone who has limited hard-drive space but wishes to save documents. Also it is portable so you can retirve data after plugging into any computer or laptop.

I just bought a new computer that didn't have a CD/DVD read writer. This reasonably priced one fit the bill and came highly recommended by the Best Buy guy.

I don't need a CD/DVD drive very often. I suppose that's why they stopped including one in many laptops. Found this one really easy to use - just plugged it in and it was ready to use.

The LG Ultra Slim DVD drive is a great value for the money. The drive worked with my Windows 7 Dell laptop without installing drivers and I was burning DVDs within minutes. This drive is NOT USB 3.0 compatible.

After purchasing my new Asus laptop computer, and realizing that it had no DVD player, I purchased this DVD player. I am thrilled with how easy it is to use and how lightweight and portable it is.

This touch-screen Asus is amazing and after trying the Mac-Pro Computer, this one has me connected with the rest of the world way better than Apple and its quirky exceptions. Microsoft vs. Apple is what it came down to; PC vs. Mac and so on. I'm really, really pleased. Also, Best Buy honored their policy on returns (no questions asked) when the Mac-Pro didn't work out for me. This computer also was WAY less expensive then Apple and I feel like I got mucho more bang for my limited bucks!

It's sleek design and light weight make it ideal for travel. It doesn't take much time to install and works very well.

I don't need to use a CD/DVD drive often, but this is good one to have around for when you need one. You can't beat the price. My local Best Buy did a price match to Amazon when i bought this one.

This external disc drive helps with my laptop that has no internal drive. I'm always on the go so to have the light weight laptop with the option of having a disc drive if needed is excellent.

Received a DD as part of a project that I had to review, enhance and and deliver it in 24 hours... Need a payer and thankfully it installed and worked ! What more could I ask for?

I purchased this external DVD drive with an HP all-in-one computer, which I had to return because of a hardware problem. The new computer, a Lenova Ideacentre, came with a built-in DVD drive.

I took the salesman's suggestion and bought this one. The price was right and, I must say, it's pretty easy to use. I hate that my laptop doesn't have a disc drive, but this does the trick!

Great to have the latest and greatest technology in a laptop, but when you need to access CD or DVD , its nice to have the option to plug in an external unit and have the best of both worlds.. :)
