Haven't used it once yet, but am glad I got it so as to be able to load from cds or dvds. It did make my laptop lighter not having it in it. It is only needed when you have a cd or dvd to load.

This works fantastic! Exactly as described, have used it in my personal MacBook as well as my work computer, which is windows. Also works great inside of a vehicle, no skipping.

I bought the Apple external drive first but it scratched the discs. This one was much less expensive and did not scratch the discs.

Bought this computer at the recommendation of a best buy sales person. Went home and read the reviews and waited for it to go on sale. It's a great computer: fast and easy to use.

Had a external hard drive that went bad and it couldn't be repaired. This is a cheap perfect fix without having to buy a new tower.

The external Drive worked as I would have expected it to. It didn't take 15 min's to load SW and go on to a web site to down load anything else. From box to using it in less than a minute.

It powers itself off the USB so you don't have to fool with extra cords. It worked great right out of the box.

Needed this external drive to load some items on my parent's computer. It took care of what we needed and I suspect will never be used again as they are in their 80's.

More and more laptops are coming with no cd/dvd drives and I had to install software. This proved a great idea. It's light and portable though I really didn't need to carry it around with me.

With the newer notebooks not having CD/DVD drives, this is a necessary peripheral at least for the time being. Has worked well so far, and the price was great. No concerns so far!

Didn't read any reviews on this, we needed one, so I drove to the store and grabbed whatever they had in stock. It does what it is supposed to do and it has worked every time...

This drive has worked brilliantly. We use it to watch dvd movies and play pc games (Sims 3). You can't beat the price, so highly recommended.

While attempting to install Windows on a friend's PC it occurred to me that he did not have a disc drive or a bootable usb. This came in handy and will be used for future installs

CD/DVD read write drives are becoming less needed all the time. However, we need one at various times and this is a great and useful device with a great price.

The computer I bought did not have a built in and at first I was not going to purchase it, With the addition of this external DVD R/W it made sense to go with a much lighter weight computer.

Needed an optical drive to go with my Surface Pro. Walked into Best Buy, asked a sales rep, he took me to the product, said it would work and it does very well with no fuss setting it up.

I needed this when I bought my new laptop because I like to be able to import dvds, cds, etc. It does the job and no problems so far (I've had less than a month)

I do like the LG disc drive. I bought it because of the price. I preferred the Apple one but the price is too high. This was a great deal for the money. Works fine.

I have been upgrading these units for years and this one I plan to keep for awhile. Enough memory and high speed for my back office docs and pictures... It's worthy of spending the money...

Very light weight as the description says. So far no problems with copying my old CDs. Great for the price and definitely beats buying the much more expensive apple SuperDrive.
