I bought this product because the laptop I purchased does not have a CD/DVD port. I was told this would play and CD/DVD i wanted. However, it would not play a DVD (not the products fault because the man did not inform me I needed additional software. After they downloaded it and explained it worked great. However, it now does not play every CD or DVD's only specific ones. I would still suggest this product.

All in all this device does its job and for the price who can complain. The extra noise isn't so bad so long as you are not working in class or at the library.

The Geek Squad was very helpful figuring out the problem. Sales person did not mention that software needed to be installed first before the product would work sufficiently.

This is a great External USB Dvd±rw/CD-RW Drive for the price. It works well so far and is very nice and slim. Recommend for anyone who has a laptop without a CD-RW Drive.

Must have for my new laptop, and most new laptops on the market, as they are streamlining them. Plugs in and connects right away. Small and fits into the corner of my backpack if needed.

The 2 in 1 I purchased did not have a built in DVD. I bought this one at the recommendation of the sales person. It plugged right in and worked. I didn't even have to use the manual.

I bought it because it was the only one they had. I have bought others before for less money and they did not work. This WORKS so I'm very happy. Did not need as many cables as some.

This inexpensive external unit does what is required, and I did not detect any problem during use of it. Recommended if you don't have an optical drive in your computer and need one.

Same capacity as other products on the shelves at best buy but a better buy than the other products. The design and product value was my incentive to purchase.

I needed this for my work laptop and it meets my needs. Would have prefered work laptop had it internal like older models but if tgis is only option then it works fine.

Works perfectly with my Surface Pro. I know that I can count on help to find just what I need with the help at Best Buy. I got what I needed not what was more expensive.

I purchased this to replace an external drive that froze after less than 3 years and the saved info on it was irretrievable. Hoping this does not happen again. But so far, all is well

This was a gift for my sister since her Surfacebook didn't have a cd/dvd drive and she needed it for school/work. Good item just a tad expensive in my opinion.

I am a teacher and my work laptop doesn't have a dvd player. It was simple to install and allows me to show documentaries to my classes.

This specific item we needed to is for our MAC and everything worked well. Then after a couple of times after the initial it starts making this loud noise.

My Disc Drive on my computer quit working so I went to best Buy and purchased the the LG Ultra Slim 8X Max Drive. It works great and takes up very little spac3e on my desk.

Had to purchase this external DVD Writer since my laptops don't have internal ones any longer. Very nice product for the price. Connected right away and gets the job down.

This device will do more than most of will probably use. So far I have only used it for music CDs and movie DVDs. It did everything I asked of it without any hesitation or hangups.
