It is an excellent monitor for its price-level. It has great color rendition, great refresh rate, and for office use, the document or writing is crisp and clear. Of course, it is not an OLED display, but the quality is very good, and I am not missing my other OLED monitor as much.

Coming from an older 144hz monitor this one is so much better. The fact you can switch between 4K and FHD with the push of a button is pretty nice. Very sharp and responsive.

I got this monitor as I wanted to play with my PS5, Switch 2 and Lenovo LOQ together. It was an easy setup with the provided HDMI and Displayport cables and I did not need to change the settings other than the brightness. I got it on sale for $300 and that was a steal. I would definitely recommend to get it if it's on sale.

Everything looked great until I saw the primary reason I picked it up didnt exist! IF this monitor had usb-c I would have kept it in a heartbeat otherwise. As it is I had to exchange the monitor for something that actually fit my needs but is probably worse...

Great Addition to the LG UltraGear Monitor Series

LG has a great line of 2025 gaming monitors - this 27" version of the UltraGear IPS Dual Mode line doesn't disappoint. The box includes the monitor, base, stand (connects base to monitor), HDMI cable, DP cable, 2 snap-on plastic decor pieces, power cable with transformer (split), and quick user guide/paperwork. The monitor comes with a manufacturer's 1-year warranty. PROS: ----------- * 4K at 180Hz and 1080p at 360Hz!! This is wicked fast (but not LG's overall fastest) With Dual-mode at these speeds, this monitor should fit nearly anyone's needs. The dual-mode can be adjusted within the monitor's settings menu. * Monitor can adjust physically in every possible way. up/down/left/right/rotation/tilt * Physical: Solid build, 4 rubber feet keep the monitor in place * EASY to put together with NO tools. This is a huge plus - you don't need a screwdriver or have to keep up with screws. * Lag is basically ZERO with no real noticeable screen tearing. Movements from your PC/PS5 are instant. * Versatile - great for gaming, watching 4K media, or photo/video editing * Colors are very nice - rich & vibrant * Can be mounted with 100mmx100mm VESA mount * 3 USB ports are quite useful along with 2 HDMI and 1 DP. There is an available headphones jack on the bottom of the monitor screen. The joystick/button on the bottom of the monitor makes for easy menu navigation. CONS: ----------- * There is still "some" ghosting when playing high-rate games, but it is minimal * HDR is good but isn't top-tier. This is not a deal-killer, but the black contrasts aren't the best I have seen. At this price point, it's about where it should be, but I was expecting a little better. OTHER OBSERVATIONS: ----------- * This is not one of LG's "smart" monitors, so it doesn't have its own OS. It's strictly a monitor. * There is no webcam or speakers built-in, however, there is an audio jack (out) available if HDMI input is used. * Unlike some of the other UltraGear line, there are no RGB lights on the rear of the monitor. CONCLUSION: ===================== * If you need the dual functionality of 4K and 1080p, this is a great monitor option. The high refresh rate is what gamers want, especially at 4K levels as games continue to get better and demand more from our systems. PS5 won't have any issues here, but some PC games with higher refresh rates may push the limits slightly, but this monitor should be able to handle most anything you throw at it. If you don't need the absolute best (OLED), this IPS monitor is a GREAT next-best option. I would definitely recommend - Great job on this monitor, LG!

Great Monitor For the Price!* (when on sale)

Honestly I was a little hesitant considering there weren't really any reviews out at the time of purchase, but it was hard to say no to a 27in 4k gaming monitor that was on sale for $300. And it's safe to say that I am thoroughly satisfied with this monitor! Lines are sharp, colors pop, and I've yet to see any sort of major ghosting problems while gaming on my PS5. I would say the only con with this monitor was the UI - I'm coming from a Dell monitor where I was easily able to switch between several display modes (i.e. HDR mode when gaming and then night mode when watching things at night), but the UI for this guy is a little clunky. You have to click multiple times on the knob just to access basic settings. Not a dealbreaker, though. I probably wouldn't spend $600 on this monitor, but if there is a serious markdown, I'd recommend pulling the trigger.

A great 4k monitor, if you can utilize it

To disclose immediately, I ended up returning the LG UltraGear 27inch monitor. My decision to do so ties into my review. So let me just say, if this is strictly your work or multimedia monitor, you can't go wrong here. The visual clarity you get at the specifications of 27inches with 4k resolution are really something you have to see to believe. If you are just used to 1440p or 1080p at those sizes it will really blow you away. Now lets discuss why that is a great thing and also a troubling thing. At this price point, it is a nice, mid-tier monitor that I think would fit most medium tier builds but with one catch. If the monitor is going to be gamed on, you are going to need some serious horsepower in your pc. Hitting 4k, even with DLSS, can be a struggle for the vast majority of graphics cards and even if you could push 60 frames on modern games (4k low 60 fps with frame gen) on your mid-tier machine, it just isn't going to be a graphically pleasant exchange. The monitor will be great, but you can see the low settings, especially in the lighting and textures and that can be a frustrating battle that makes you wonder if you aren't giving it the power it needs to be properly utilized. I have a 4070 and I should have done my due diligence before committing to 4k gaming. The 1080p mode (or optionally selecting a 1440p resolution) does work but native resolution is really what you want to target. Old CRT televisions are gamed on to this day because they don't rely on native resolution targets to display a clean image. The 1080p mode is fast. You really need to try 360hz at some point, but most games won't utilize that frame rate anytime soon and the visual clarity tradeoff is not worth it in my opinion. I wanted to love this monitor for what it was, but it was a story of me not being able to match the rhythm of what it needs for it to be an optimal 4k machine now. For console gamers, I think you will enjoy playing at 4k as consoles tend to have really decent upscaling techniques and are optimized to limit visual bugs that we tend to see on lower settings on pc. I found that to be my preferred use with the monitor in my short time with it. But the big takeaway, this goes down to a decent price when it's on sale, but it feels a few years too early. Eventually, 360hz will be easy to hit and 4k gaming will be more manageable on even lower tier cards but we aren't there yet, and I think you may be better off saving up for an OLED monitor instead, of which LG has options for. Pros: Great screen quality with great video playback (4k videos just look insanely good on here) and crisp clear text, Simple setup and worry free design (took like 5 minutes to get up and running), 27 inches is an ideal desk space compromise (good blend for work/gaming without going one way or the other), Dual mode functionality (more niche but for esports gamers that are okay with visual loss this is a nice boost in refresh rate) Cons: Dual Mode frustrations (1080p mode is blurry and its noticeable on a screen of this size) and adaptive sync seemed forced to be used in the 360hz mode. I found that frustrating given I would have preferred the choice to use it or not. Final thoughts: A great monitor that only asks you if you have what it needs to properly utilize it and if you do, I think you are really going to like it.

I picked this up on sale during Christmas time and am more than content with my purchase. Upgrading to this from a 1080p monitor is like night and day. It works well and looks amazing. HDR is okay considering the price, but the 4k capability makes up for it.

So I'll preface this by saying I got an amazing price leading up to Christmas. However all the price did was lead me to making the purchase. I had been struggling with what to buy for a monitor for a balance of video production/gaming. I am nit disappointed to sat the least. The build quality of this monitor is top notch. The mount is very sturdy and versatile. It does not have speakers but I had a sound solution so this did not effect my purchase. I did assume it had RGB based off some other reviews i saw online, but this particular unit does not. The picture quality is amazing. It does have a few of the typical issues that IPS panels have, such as the bleed through, but appears to be very minor IMO. Overall I'm very pleased with this monitor.

Overall, the LG UltraGear 27″ Dual Mode monitor is an excellent choice for gamers who want both high-resolution visuals and blistering refresh-rate performance without breaking the bank (paid $349.99). It’s versatile enough for competitive gamers and immersive enough for story-driven titles or media consumption. If you value smooth motion and stunning 4K detail side-by-side, this model delivers great value. Sturdy, adjustable stand with height, swivel, pivot, and tilt support.

Go to Rratings to find the best calibration settings for this monitor. The image quality is so good and the level of HDR is so good that it may fool someone that it might be an OLED monitor. There are big differences but this is hands down the best gaming monitor for the price.

This monitor is great! The color and the smoothness rivals my 240hz LG 27gr95 OLED. The 180hz refresh rate is noticeably easier on the eyes while still feeling quick and looking smooth. I returned this monitor due to some pixels going dead about a week in, and opted for the Alienware aw2725q.

I like this monitor. So far there is no problems. Coming from a 24 inch asus 1080p 144hz monitor, the lg is a nice upgrade. Tested with my ps5, xbox x, switch 2 ,and pc it looks great. This will be my main monitor and the asus be the secondary from now on. My only issue is the monitor doesn't have built in speakers but i got headphones for the consoles and tv speakers i can connect with the headphone jack.Grab it once it's on sale, I bought it while it was 299.99.The mount is nice, sturdy, and adjustable. The picture quality is amazing.I do recommended this monitor.

I was pretty anti-LG for a long time due to some quality issues they had in the early 2010s but I decided to give them a shot again because I've about had it with ASUS's quality control and plethora of issues on their premium line displays. The screen looks sharp and gorgeous, premium build feel, and very easy to set up. I'll definitely be getting a few more of these soon to replace my other displays.

This monitor was good but not great. 4k pictures looked good, colors were also good for an IPS panel. At least no issues of burn-in for this type of display compared to the ultra expensive OLED offerings. I just didn’t like the matte finish on it. Plus, the black colors looked too grayish for me. This made some games looked kind of washed out. I used it to play on my Xbox Series X and as an external display for my MacBook. I could see it possibly giving me eye strain. For $350 on sale it could be a great deal for the right person, but for reasons above I returned it.

Luckily I bought this during the Black Friday sale for about $330 or $350 I can't remember. But the quality is great the 4k 180hz looks amazing. I was gaming on a 2k 165 for awhile and I can tell the difference. I can also drop the resolution to hd and 360hz. I tried it and it works awesome. Extremely satisfied. I remember when 4k monitor entry used to cost 1500+
