This monitor is great for gaming, probably not the best for creative editing as the color profile seems to be very blue/cool in tone. Wish there was faster switching between inputs as it does lag, may be mitigated by a display switch. Frames are decent via HDMI, up to 144FPS I believe to my PC. I recommend putting this on a monitor arm because the base is very low to the desk and takes up a lot of space.

I have gamed on several high end monitors in my time. Some have been said to be good, while some actually were good. When it boils down to it due to several reasons I would recommend this monitor as a go-to for all of your gaming needs. Pros: Monitor has some density to it, its not cheaply assembled or made to look nice when it really isn't. This 32" monitor is solid. The set up is very easy to complete and connect to the base stand. The monitor stand is very sturdy, the monitor does not move when typing or making other physical motions, also sliding the monitor up and down on the stand is easy. My gut was telling me due to its size that there would be some wobble to it but I didnt experience any. All inputs such as HDMI and other video cables connect to the back rather than bottom of the monitor, I do prefer this, as trying to tip a monitor on its back or face to plug in an HDMI is less than desirable. However this may be prohibitive if you wish to wall mount the monitor. The headphone jack is located on the bottom of the monitor right next to the power button, if you choose to run audio through your monitor, is easy to locate. My first test was performed on a top of the line graphics card while playing a very vivid FPS. My second test was performed with my gaming console playing the same game. Results in terms of response time we as follows: HDR enabled was observably a better look than without. Colors are beyond super vibrant - Blues, greens and reds pop noticeably. The lighting on the monitor is very impressive and really makes everything stand out too. Pairing this monitor with a top notch graphics card and a game that is rendering on a top of the line engine will assure peak performance. During my tests I did not observe pixelation issues In all games I configured max hz for a refresh rate and did not have any issues, skipping or other visual issues. Motions and animations were all very smooth as well with no lag or skipping. Tested audio functions by connecting the USB from the computer to the monitor and using my headset, jacked into the monitor. All audio sounded great, no crackling or other issues noted. Overall this monitor is amazingly impressive, the colors, refresh rate, HDR capabilities really out perform any TV or other monitor I have ever played on. If you are looking for a beast of a monitor that can handle 4k, and max hz this is the top pic for you.

I also own an Asus PG32UQX HDR1400 monitor, but was looking for a great alternative without paying a hefty price. For 1/3 of the price, my younger brother & I both agree this monitor is it. The PG32UQX HDR is better (mini-LED vs IPS), but hurts your eyes if someone is throwing a flash bang or from a bright white loading screen from Assassin's Creed. This monitor is easier on the eyes and no brightness adjustments is needed. I have HDR enabled and games look AMAZING. Even contents from YouTube 4K HDR content looks amazing. This is the best black I've seen for an IPS panel. Monitor is pretty bright. As for the "flaws", my younger brother & I both notice when loading Assassin's Creed, the load screen had some white vertical bar glow about 3" wide from top to bottom. I didn't notice it until he mentioned it and I do see that as well, which we both believe is due to dimming zones. Other than this, everything was literally perfect. I didn't see any flaws in-game day or night scene. This only has 32 dimming zones vs 1152 dimming zones on the Asus PG32UQX. While watching 4k HDR content on YouTube on dark scenes we also see these same white vertical bar glow about 1" wide from top to bottom on each side of the screen, which makes the black switch to a lighter color. I also see this same issue, but in the middle when shutting down my Win11 machine. This only affected the deep black color. This is the best black I've seen on an IPS panel. I would have loved more dimming zones for the price. Paid $999.99 for it, but I would not pay more. There is literally no blooming/halo affect you see with this monitor. Even with the flaws that I do see, I believe this monitor is a keeper for the price. The flaws do not bother me at all, as I only see it < 1% of the time I'm using the machine. Even the Asus PG32UQX has it's own flaws. There is no perfect monitor. If money is no object and I did not care for HDMI 2.1, then I'd pick the $3000 Asus PG32UQX mini-LED. But for $1000, this monitor is it. HDR is pretty darn similar to the PG32UQX if not identical. We believe this due to the content outputting HDR1000 only. PG32UQX is definitely brighter, but this monitor is pretty bright too. Plus this one has HDMI 2.1 support. This one is a keeper.

Overall a fantastic panel. I use this for both gaming and my day job (developer). Panel uniformity is generally very good compared to other IPS panels and the polarizer really does reduce IPS glow. Response times are fast, there is no ghosting to be seen. HDR on this panel is actually surprisingly good, though dark areas don’t look as good as what you would find on an oled panel I found that in games like horizon zero dawn and god of war it was very good. I do, however generally use side mode because it looks better in windows and has better visibility in multiplayer games. 160hz mileage may very, it seems to work well, however I have had a few times where tabbing out of games causes a black screen for 5 seconds or so. This does not occur when using 144hz. I tried m32u and Samsung neo g8. This panel is better than both

Gamers, this is a top notch offering from LG. For us gamers, it matters to have a 4k panel, fast refresh rates of 144hz with an overclock option to 160hz, and the best IPS display that LG has out. The only thing better might be a OLED option but that is at a premium and has drawbacks. It is a heavy monitor. It's good to have the stand that it comes with although it looks a bit plasticy. The stand is solid enough and the monitor has a decent tilt to it. The included back lighting is a nice touch as well. G-Sync compatibility built in and AMD FreeSync premium is always great to have. If you have the video card and/or games that take advantage of these options then you have a better smooth quality to your game play. With the ps5, it is a great display to play a multitude of titles that also benefit from the high refresh rates and HDR. For the price, you cannot beat this monitor. Especially when on a sale. It has all the bells and whistles a higher tier monitor would have at a very good price point. New generation console gaming or mid to high end gaming monitors are what will take full advantage of this monitor.

Upgraded to this monitor after using a 4k 27in panel and the 32in panel is just far better imo. The Backlight Polarizer seemed like a bit of a nice to have but wow does it actually make a difference after using other IPS panels. It is a really heavy display though clocking in around 21 lbs without the stand, so if you're going to be monitor it to a monitor arm, make sure it's a strong one.

I really thought I'd like this one, but there were some undeniable shortcomings for the large price. In short, I coudn't stop messing with the settings to get the color and contrast right and that was super annoying/ frustrating. Good 4K HDR needs brightness AND contrast to look good, among other things like a true 10 bit panel of which this is not. It's only 8bit+FRC, which means fake and bake 10 bit. I saw banding, noise and posterization. It was also very gray! That's to be expected since it's an IPS panel, but for a thousand dollars, I thought maybe they gave it some extra juice to look better. Nope. I coudn't stop messing with all the settings, fidgeting like I need a fix, a true HDR fix, so I returned it quick. I even tried some 4k streaming on Netflix and even 4k HDR content didn't look crispy and contrast-y. Aside from that, gaming was good, especially since it has a high refresh rate and is G-Sync Compatible. I just didn't like the lack luster contrast at all. It is heavy and built solid, even the stand was solid. It adjusted in every direction but it doesn't pan left and right - meaning if you wanted to swivel it for someone on your right or left to see better, you'd have to pick the whole thing up and swing it a little. BTW there are NO SPEAKERS. BB shows that it has integrated speakers, but this is big false. Negative ghost rider, no speakers. I do not recomend this one unless you don't need or care about a fantastic image, but at that point there are much cheaper options. So no, don't get this one. For a thousand bucks, I expected crispy, but I instead got gray.

Hard to find a monitor this size with all of the features you get. You do end up paying a premium but that’s up to you to justify it. Works great with the newer consoles but like other reviewers said not all titles support the higher refresh rate. If you do us it with a PC or Mac you should be fine. Color accuracy out of the box is great. No real cable management but that’s just me finding a flaw to point out.

Great monitor. My only issue so far is occasionally it starts to shut off as if it's idle, even when it's in use; not sure why that is. But that's not such a big deal. I'm happy with its performance.

    Minor Quality Control Issues

Overall I really liked this monitor, but I ultimately ended up returning it after several exchanges due to minor quality control issues. The color quality was wonderful and the HDR was really impressive for an edge-lit screen. The screen felt really responsive and I liked the ATW polarizer, which made IPS glow much better than other IPS monitors I’ve tried. However, I had a few panel defects including a mark behind the screen on one sample and two samples that had a small dark area in the center of the screen on certain grey colors causing a dirty screen effect. If I was using it for gaming primarily I likely wouldn’t notice it, but I also do some photography work and the darkened centered bothered me. It could have been a bad batch that had this uniformity issue though.

I was fortunate to buy this when it was only $829 a few weeks ago. I had previously tried the comparable 4K UHD Samsung monitor purchased online from "another" company and it had some glitchy issues which Samsung customer service was unable to fix. For example, the monitor would not turn on when the computer turned on snd I had to press the monitor power button each time. It also would not report as having the full 144 Hertz resolution in Windows display settings despite using a DisplayPort provided cable. It would show a maximum of 120 hz. So I had to return it. I tried the 27-in UHD model by LG and it was great, but I knew immediately that 32 inch was the correct size for gaming. Best Buy staff was terrific about the exchange and the purchase was easy and trouble-free at the Mission Valley store. This monitor allows you to easily change a menu setting to overclock it from 144 hz to 160 hz and I have been running it consistently at 160 hz without issues. So it's basically like getting a 165 Hertz monitor. This monitor has g-sync and freesync compatibility, but I found that my Nvidia 3080 video card kicks into high gear with full fans when using the g-sync as opposed to just letting the game use vertical sync options. There are lots of fine-tuning features including the ability to change the lighting colors on the back side that illuminate the wall behind the monitor. The contrast and blacks and uniform lighting are terrific across the entire screen. I strongly suggest that you only buy a 4K UHD monitor if you are going with 32 in. A 32-in QHD 1440 may show small square pixels which are noticeable when only a few feet from the screen. Would definitely buy from Best Buy again and even if you have to pay a higher price than I did, this is still a great monitor. One more thing is that it comes with both a display port and HDMI cable capable of the highest 4K UHD resolution. The Samsung I had previously returned came only with a DisplayPort cable. HDMI cables are pretty expensive in the high resolution.

So far I have had this item for almost 10 months. It gets a bit warm, but it should. It accomplishes so much compared to items peers in pricing. The synchronizing services provide a very smooth experience. Even at full chat for hours, the monitor has failed to falter. I couldn't be happier, even given the large price tag. 100% I'd buy again and recommend. Only flaw is the limitation of customization. But it's not a deal breaker. It's presets are amazing and fill the void.

Excellent monitor picture out of the box with numerous menu screen options, but does need to be calibrated to get the best experience. The stand is solid and has a decent range of motion, but I would recommend a vesa mount. There are two HDMI ports and one display port which is adequate for my needs. I would wait for this monitor to go on sale, because it is way over priced. I did a lot of research before I got this monitor, and would definitely recommend you get this monitor.

*FANTASTIC Monitor* I tried a M32U (Almost as good) & about 4 1440p Monitors before landing on this one. The image is SO CRISP @ 32inchs Lets be clear, @ 27inch you DONT need 4k, @ 32inch you DO NEED 4K IMO. Cons- No auto input switch is the ONLY thing I can complain about. Wait for a sale because OVER $899 I think its a bit pricey but I paid $796 because they matched Amazon! I love LG & I LOVE BB

Ill lead with the grain of salt, i JUST got this so I cannot speak to the longevity of the product. It was shipped directly to my house in a massive box that did a great job of protecting the monitor. Be careful. It is a bit heavy, but I got it installed and placed and attached all the wires attached relatively easily. I turned it on and have not seen any dead pixels, but what I have seen is amazing quality. I connected my computer with a good quality DP cable adjusted the settings which you will need to do and it has been phenomenal. I started with a game with a lot of darkness and while you do get some blooming, the colors turned out fantastic. (Lies of P) I needed a computer that would also function for work, and while the brightness is a little more present, and while the colors are not perfect it functions very well as a productivity screen. If I did some tweaking, it would probably perform better, but I have not gotten around to setting up different profiles ( a great feature). The real determination of quality will be how long it lasts and ensuring it performs at the level. It’s at now but out of the box. It has been phenomenal especially because I got it almost 50% off on a Black Friday sale. Keep an eye out awesome sales do exist at $700 monitor for sure. Not quite sure I’d pay retail price. at that point I would probably look for an OLED. I have been debating between this and the Samsung G7 but after using this one I’m glad I got it. if I had one complaint it would be not having a remote. you have a button at the bottom that’s a single button so it’s easy to use. I would’ve enjoyed being able to control it with the remote.

    LG's Answer to the Market

I give this 4 stars for a few reasons. First, this is not true HDR because it doesn't have FALD. Understandably, the monitor market is slowly moving that way (and OLEDs have already since satisfied 'real' HDR). Next, I am disappointed a USB-C port isn't part of the monitor. Several other noteworthy 2021 flagships like the MPG321 have such a port, and that was released last year. A 2022 monitor like this LG should have this feature by default. My initial impressions of the monitor otherwise are great. I use it primarily for productivity, and the text clarity is phenomenal. I'm using it for 4K gaming in my off time and have tested a few titles. I concede that SDR has looked phenomenal in every game I've tried out (Hitman 3, COD, etc.). Not necessarily a con, but be aware this monitor can output a fair amount of heat because of its size and especially when 1000 nits are being hit. Combined with the power output of a 3090 TI and an intel chip, it genuinely feels like a space heater in my room. I occasionally even have to take breaks in the midst of summer here in Vegas (where 105 is a 'cool' day). You can put your hand in front of it and feel it dissipating. I purchased this monitor while it was on sale for $999 which in my opinion is far, far more reasonable compared to its normal $1299 price tag. I couldn't have justified the purchase at the original price because of what it's missing. With all things said, I'm confident this monitor will serve its purpose until more full array local dimming monitors / OLED monitors become more widely available and are cheaper.
