This is a great monitor for the money. Sure the AW has better build quality, and true gsync. However it has lower refresh rate, lower response times, is a tad older, and has no HDR to boot. In my opinion FreeSync works just fine! Just get the geek squad insurance to cover the warranty period that everyone get with the AW. Plus an extra year. You will definitely ascend with this monitor!

Good monitor if IPS glow isn't an issue for you

Overall it's a nice product, lots of features, great colour reproduction, nice contrast and G-Sync works great with a RTX 2080 Ti. My monitor is free of dead/stuck pixels and for my surprise I could get it to run at 3440x1440 120Hz using HDMI which is great. Why use it at 120Hz via HDMI? I have it connected to two different computers and unfortunately this monitor has only a single DisplayPort connection, so I have to use HDMI for one of the computers. The other is connected via DP and the monitor works great at 160Hz with 8-bit color. The biggest downside in my opinion is the IPS glow on the top left and right corners, it bothers me some times when the screen is predominantly dark... but I guess it is what it is.

Bottom line- this is a very nice monitor for both gaming and productivity. I know it's not cheap and if you are not going to use the game-centric features (144Hz refresh, Gsync/Freesync, HDR, etc), there are more budget friendly alternative that will serve you just fine. I have owned this monitor for about 6 months and use it for both PC gaming and productivity (work from home). First off the ultrawide format is just great- when I'm in the office, I use a dual 16:9 screen setup. Technically, that is more screen real estate than this monitor, but I actually prefer using this single 21:9 monitor at home and not having the annoying bezel gap in the middle of my work. It is excellent for video editing software and large spreadsheets. On the gaming side, the screen is very bright and clear and very fast. The built-in crosshair option is handy. The wide field of view is very immersive without distorting images at the sides like I've seen with 49" super-ultrawides. Originally I REALLY wanted the 38" version of this monitor, but at nearly double the price, I couldn't justify it . Honestly, I am totally satisfied with the 34" size and have no complaints. One note- if you are thinking of mounting this on an adjustable monitor arm, make sure it can handle the size/weight of the screen, you may have to upgrade your mount

I've had this monitor for a few days now and needless to say, i'm glad i spent the extra cash. The picture is fantastic. I've hooked this up to multiple sources (PC, Laptop, Xbox One X) and the picture is phenomenal. This was a solid choice. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to ditch the dual monitor setup.

ordered it love it and still think of returning it. Paying 1200$ with warranty feels really expensive for what it is. Good gaming experience loved it playing Battlefield 4 and 5. I Don't like that it doesn't have full gsync. The alienware that cost about the same price is only 120hz and has full gsync and works with freesync and has better build quality, it also has 3yr warranty and this lg only has 1 year. One of the reason why im thinking of returning it 1 yr warranty and people not in the USA, gets 2 -3 yrs warranty. Picture looks awesome Gaming is so smooth still waiting for nvidia 3000 series. Brightness is nice, hdr 400 is bad.

DisplayPort 1.4, 144Hz, HDR, ultra wide, what more can you ask for? Check out the Hardware Unboxed reviews.. and google the other well known sites that do reviews. LG makes a REALLY good display. Not dead or stuck pixels. No backlight bleed.. Truly and excellent monitor. Couldnt want anything more. IF you have the money to burn on this then I think you will be pleased with it. If this was $800 it would be a bargain. I paid just over $900 for mine and theres no buyers remorse.

First the stand holds the monitor, does a great job cause I don't want to hold the monitor all day. The pixels, let me tell ya, they are good, if I bring my face really really close to the screen i can see them but then my eyes hurt. I bought this to play minesweeper, i now have have a new record. my dad thinks its a dumb purchase and that I should have bought bitcoin instead. well he is wrong. this is the greatest monitor.

Loving it! Paired it with a monitor desk mount for the size. Updated from a 1st gen lg ultra wide monitor. The hdr color is great, the size is great. The shipping even arrived two days early! Feels great for the price. I don’t update monitors often and feels like it will last a long time.

So far I've been using this display for 4 days and it is pretty incredible. The stand, while large and quite deep, provides a really solid mount that seems to keep vibrations from moving the monitor better than previous monitors and adjusts up and down very easily as well as provides tilt, which I had not been expecting. The display itself is bright and provides pretty amazing color depth. I'm seeing things in some of the games I play that I never saw before. It also works really well for work, providing plenty of space to have any combination of IDE, browser, terminal, or whatever. The only reason I'm not giving this a 5 star rating is that I use this display with both a Windows 10 gaming laptop and a Mac Pro laptop. With the Windows 10 machine everything works great every time with no exceptions. With the Mac though it _never_ recognizes the built-in USB hub when the first time conncting. I always have to reseat the USB cable when I switch to that machine. I thought the issue might be with the dock I'm using but I tried 2 other docks and had the exact same issue. Over-all it has been a great purchase so far.

This is really an amazing monitor overall with exception to the fact that there are some areas right toward the edges that seem like the brightness falls off the tiniest bit. I edit AV and still image on it and I have very sensitive vision so it is a little annoying when I'm pixel peeping but let's just say it's 95% perfect if you're paying close attention. The average person will probably say 100% but again, due to my line of work I am much more apt to spot problems.

Best gaming monitor for it's price

When it comes to gaming monitors, not much gets better than this. To get started with what it should have for the price: better contrast, more PPI, and a more premium build quality. What you do get: excellent picture quality, perfect motion, and stunning responsiveness. 5 stars is for a perfect monitor, and I feel for the price it could have more features. But, those features are overkill, and when it comes to essentials and nice perks, this has them all.

I decided to replace my 27" 144hz (1440p) Acer monitor with this one. The difference between the Acer's TN and the LG's IPS displays is night and day. I'm also impressed with the extra screen real-estate of the LG, even just browsing the web let alone gaming/editing/etc.. I don't think I could go back to 16:9!

A great monitor. In all honesty it took some getting used to, what with the huge expansion in work space it affords me. I haven't updated a monitor in (hate to say this) the better part of a decade or more. So it's been something of a "holy MOLY" experience. My eyes had to adjust. ;-) If I have one quibble it's that the monitor doesn't really "do" dual machine inputs very well. You have to download additional software to run on each machine you plug into the monitor. Not elegant...but a minor quibble since the bulk of my usage is via one platform, one that runs AMD's 3950x CPU and concomitant hardware along with a RTX 2080 Super GPU. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase. Especially since this is the SECOND monitor. The first one I received had a vertical band of destroyed pixels down the left side of the monitor. To Best Buy's credit they quickly arranged a replacement, which is the one I'm now using. So far, so good. I'm pleased.

I like to game, but I also like photography. There are plenty of 1440p 144hz monitors out there, but very few that have a great panel for content creation. Although a little on the expensive side, this monitor does basically everything right.

Love this thing. It's the perfect size with the perfect curve. No dead pixels, and it runs well at 144 Hz. I wouldn't bring it up to overclocked at 160 Hz because it'd provide lots of ghosting.
