Great 3440x1440 gaming monitor
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG 34GN850 is a top notch gaming monitor for those who like the 21:9 aspect ratio. A color accurate 160hz IPS Display, what's not to like? I even found the contrast to be better than anticipated. The only way it could be better is with local dimming and HDR1000 certification, but monitors with those features are twice the price of this. Still, $999 is a little high. For that price I would have preferred it have a full G-Sync module, instead of G-Sync compatibility.

Beautiful and powerful monitor!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loving this new monitor! Pricey but the quality is what you pay for! All that's left is to buy a new and more powerful GPU to maximize this monitor!

Worth the buy.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it "open boxed" and it still had plastic on it making it practically new. The monitor is great and is a significant upgrade from the older 1080p of the same size. The color is great and once you figure out the menu, the UI is relatively intuitive. I dont use the 1 ms refresh speed as it causes some blurr artifacts (see LinusTechTips review in it) but the setting before that (3ms I think) is still great at 144 hz.

So far so good
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this ultrawide for about 2 weeks now. I'm enjoying it, however,I did notice some issue with my laptop. The screen flickers at times, but a simple power cycle fixes the issue. I also noticed an issue where the monitor will not auto detect the input. For example, if I turn on my PC after using my Mac laptop, it would not auto detect the input, and sometimes it would not even display anything on screen. Power cycling will fix it. However, I am enjoying using this monitor. It's probably the best one I've owned.

Best UltraWide by far
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor has everything. 1440p UltraWide, 144 hz refresh rate, a perfect curve that’s not too aggressive, g-sync, and it even has great control software if you don’t feel like using the single settings button built on the bottom of the monitor. The picture is fantastic and it has great HDR support. The only thing that could possibly make this monitor better is an OLED screen.

First Ultrawide
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this monitor! I just built my first PC and this has gotten really good reviews so I bought it. So far so good, I'm not super technical with the colors and the dynamic contrast, but it's playing my video games with great quality. Can't wait to start overclocking to see this monitor in action. I would recommend a desk that can hold a monitor stand, cause the stand is a little bulky.

Expensive for what you get
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely the best ultrawide ips monitor for gaming on the market but was not impressed enough for the price especially since LG just re released this monitor with a different model number at about $200 cheaper on average. Definitely didn’t leave me going “wow that was worth $1000.” I can see this being a good dual use monitor for a semi-professional however.
