The phone's tendency to overheat is another recurring negative point. Some users found the device became uncomfortably hot during use.

For a free phone, i was excited to try the Android. I had been an avoid blackberry user for years. I must say, after the first well i was quickly losing interest in my phone. Ran hot all time, died constantly it was all!!! I couldn't even get texts from people, which was not fun. No emails were coming through, pictures couldn't be taken our sent after time i was more willing to give it to my two year old instead of keep out. I didn't when've it a month and i already gave it back. Needless to say, no more lg for me.

it's the perfect phone for me considering it's my first android phone, still learning all the "bells and whistles". just getting used to the battery life adjustments that comes with a smart phone. would definitely suggest this phone to anyone.

The battery life was around two hours. Exchanged this phone for the same model and had the same problem. The phone got so hot, it nearly burned my hand. Exchanged it for an iPhone. Best move I have ever made!

the phone is pretty good but the only thing is when you're talking on it sometimes it sounds like that person is fair away than goes back to normal. other than that, worth it.

I had a Blackberry Curve for the longest and decided to upgrade to the Viper. I really like the size and how it fits in my petite hands. Also, being my first touchpad I was amazed at how easy it was to catch on. Great pics too! Really fast speeds so I can only imagine what the 4G will be like. LTE service will be in my area (Houston) this week. Yay. Great phone.

The LG Viper 4G is a very nice for a beginner getting into the smart phone pond. Nice entry point pricing. I found the android OS easy to navigate with in setting up contacts, making calls, accessing the web and Google PlayStore. Sprint's service is spotty at best at the moment so really can't get a good feel for the speed of the device. It does get rather hot on the back plate (which is plastic) when using apps. The screen is very responsive with just a little lag that I've seen. The battery life seems moderately good. I have not had any problems hearing or being heard on phone calls. I have had dropped conversations while listening. Not sure if that is due to the Sprint service.

I had this phone for a month and haven't filled it up with apps and clear out the ram alot but sometimes it gets really hot and the battery goes down. if you put it on auto LTE mode it will kill you battery.. its a nice speedy phone but it loves to lag at times ! . and i don't like lagging and i push the CPU an it kills my battery so im stuck but overall its a ok phone its a mid range not a high end so im cool with it ! Galaxy S 3 has no lag but its to expensive :/

Got the phone for my mom for only 20 bucks. For the price the screen and camera are great. All of the other specs are also above average considering the low price. For a starter android phone with lte for only $20 it can't be beat.

    Pretty Phone, but Lousy battery

I picked this phone because I have had good luck previously with LG phone products. The Viper is a good looking phone with a sharp and fast display. Call quality is not the best on calls with sone distortion on the audio. When I purchased the phone the sales person turned on the GPS. As soon as I was home the battery was almost dead, and it had to be charged. I disabled the GPS, and charged the phone. The next day the GPS was back on again and was sucking the battery dead in a matter of hours. I have fought with this for a week, and even downloaded a batery saving ap, which helps, but if the phone goes into a dead zone (like a reasturant) then it goes into search mode, and drains the battery dead. It's going back to the store and I am trading in for an iPhone, my wife picked the iPhone at the same time and hers has lasted for 2 days on one charge, with all of the features on. If LG wants this to be a "Green" phone they need to fix the battery life issue or they will end up in landfills.

Features are great and the battery life is better than our last phone, but still dies too soon. Even though these phones were "free" with our plan, we took them back and purchased the Motorola Photons - WAY better product. The Viper has VERY poor quality audio when talking. Hard to hear the person on the other end and the volume doesn't go any higher. The person on the other end also has a hard time understanding what you're saying - very raspy and muffled. The "kazoo mode" as I called it.
