Really love my LG Bluetooth Speaker!!
Seamless Bluetooth connection to all devices...phone, computer and even my 5 year old Lexus tablet.
Ready to listen right out the box with easy control operation and hidden charge compartment accent.
Enhanced Bass option roars out best listen to anything from Jazz to Hip Hop. So sleek compact design to know that it is waterproof a bonus. As they say LG stands for Life's Good in this case they are right.

Great sound, USB C portable bluetooth speaker

The LG PK3 is an ultra portable bluetooth speaker. What I love: Great sound. Rich, deep base and even at max volume there is not distortion or speaker rattle - which is great. This is important when the way you typically use a portable speaker is outside at full or almost full volume. Also great is that the LG Pk3 is IPX7 rated so it can withstand up to 3feet of water for 30minutes (no need to worry about using this near the pool or in the shower). A bonus of the PK3 is it charges via USB C. This is the first portable speaker I have seen to use USB C for charging which means the potential for much faster charge times. Overall, great portable bluetooth speaker and very happy with what LG have been able to pack into such a small space.

Best in Class, a STEAL at $69

It has always amazed me what people expect out of a BT speaker that costs less than $100! I see terms like "anemic" and I just do not get it. I own and LOVE Harman-Kardon Onyx Studio X speakers. Talk about clear highs, lows, in betweens! People complain about the bass being too strong, and I face plant in the palm of my hands. EQ!
The LG PK3 is solidly built, easy to control, and sounds good for the money (more on this in a minute).
Potential buyers, please test this speaker using an equalizer! I use an MP3 player called jetAudio which is free and comes with a 10 band EQ. For $3 you get a 20 band EQ. For a few more buck, you can buy other enhancements (Bonjiovi is a must) that make this speaker really shine. With the player you can modify the sound to fit any recording, as not all recordings are created equal.
WHY do people want an app that can be used to control this and other speakers? Yes, I can see WiFi speakers needing them, but BT? Really? The app is called an MP3 player with at least basic EQ capabilities.
Buy several of these if you need a very good inexpensive/value BT speakers as gifts. Buy the LG big brother speakers if you want more capability, or step up to the HK Onxy Studio X speakers.
This LG speaker will work for office, around the pool, backyard. It can be too loud if you want to talk to others and you are within 20 feet of this speaker.
This will NOT compete with my HK, I did not expect them to. I wanted something to replace my JBL Flip 2's lack of bass and short battery life. The LG PK3 does just that.
Many BT speakers in this class are tweaked to sound good in a very narrow (Bose, you listening? JBL Charge?) band of volume. Higher or lower and you lose bass, highs, lows become muddy, etc. This speaker sounds like a JBL Flip 2 played bare bones. The LG volume is about the same but not as clear as the Flip 2. The LG is a bargain and the current price. Came here to order some LG PK3s for Christmas presents to my grand children. I also bought some Amazon Fire 7" which I load G oo gle play and add a new launcher for ease of use. I also load jetAudio as the MP3 player. I also add AL Reader and load some books for them to read

My bluetooth speaker before this was a JBL Clip which was small and portable and allowed me to listen to music outdoors on the go. I was blown away by this new LG PK3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker - Black. The sound quality is crisp, clear, and loud. I was able to pair this with my Apple iPhone 6 Plus ans also my iPad without any problem. Paired quickly and efficiently. The music streamed really well and gave us the adequate music volume we wanted for our backyard gatherings. This speaker is compact, but it's not dainty. It has a nice bulk to it so you can hold it with confidence and not be gentle or delicate with it. The clarity on the music was excellent as we had it going pretty loud and you could hear it a good distance away in the backyard. My previous JBL speaker was unable to put out range of sound like this.
I feel this package looks appealing in the box and is safely packaged really well. This is an ideal gift for a wide range of age groups. Whether it's a young middle school aged student that wants some music to have in a bedroom or a college age student for dorm parties or outdoor gatherings. I feel any adult could utilize this in just about any indoor or outdoor environment due to the portability and sound quality.
Very impressed by this LG product and would gladly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality bluetooth speaker without having to spend a fortune. LG really delivers on this and I'm so pleased with it.

Good sound from a portable speaker

The LG - LG PK3 has a good look and feel with a great sound. For the size, this speaker can pump out some good volume without distorting the sound. The speaker has a solid construction that looks great where every you decide to take it. The Bluetooth is quick and easy to set up. When powered off and powered back on, it automatically reconnects flawlessly and in seconds to the device you had connected to it. Buttons on top of the device are intuitive, with the exception of skip functionality. It is a little hit or miss, but a double tap on the Play/Pause button will skip to the next song, but no back button to replay the track. Fortunately you can use the microphone on the speaker to use Siri or Google Now commands. I am really excited that this speaker has a solid waterproofing specs, however I am yet to find myself putting it to the test.
Now for some cons. Although this device is portable, it still has some decent weight to it along with some girth. For a person with small hands, gripping the unit can feel a bit awkward. Some of the photo advertisements of people holding onto the unit with one hand, speaking into the unit or listening to music doesn't really feel like a how one would use this speaker. I am more inclined to say that this speaker is a great portable speaker, but only to place it in different locations as needed. It is not a slim device to be holding for a period of time. Although if feels like a good quality built, there is some weight to it. I am not sure this thing can handle much of a fall as the casing does not have any protection whatsoever. For me, this one fits the bill. It is decently priced and I can move my music to any room around the house including out on the porch and patio and not have to worry about constant charging or getting it wet.

Great Bluetooth speaker for the money

I have a large collection of various Bluetooth speakers. Several were $250-$300. Some were less than $30. The LG PK3 is closer in performance to the expensive models. In comparison it is only lacking in bass output. However it is by far the best-sounding sub-$100 BT speaker I have heard. And is super easy to use.
I also like the water-resistant feature. I use mine out by my pool and like that it won't be ruined if splashed.
Not sure how I feel about the "enhanced bass" feature. To me, engaging that mode actually reduces the bass output, but also cleans up the highs quite a bit and definitely sounds more clear and balanced. Obviously for a speaker of this size it is physically impossible to create a large amount of bass. In general it sounds good especially compared to others in its price class, most of which in my opinion sound pretty terrible.
If you are looking for a Bluetooth speaker in this price range the LG PK3 is a great choice.

The LG PK3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a sleek, compact solution for anyone that is looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker that can produce great sound quality and looks great while doing it. The battery life on the LG PK3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker is amazing and easily last through a full work day and has enough battery power for use after work (or before if you prefer). The LG PK3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker can be charged with a simple USB cable (no power adapter is included) either through a USB port on a computer or with an available power adapter that can connect via USB.
The LG PK3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker is water resistant, so don’t be afraid to use the speaker around water. Just make sure to pull it out of the water if it does fall in. The LG PK3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker can last for about 30 minutes under one meter of water. Overall, the LG PK3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a great option for people looking to play music for several hours throughout the day and have a speaker that blends in well with the environment that it is in. Whether it is in an office, in the car, lounging on a boat, or wherever else you can think of.

I will not base this review on all on larger portable speakers, small speakers will just not compare to thier big brothers. However this little guy for the size and cost is a great package. No pounding bass of course but for the size it puts out some decent mids. Has a nice solid feel and heft to it. Comes with a USB cable but no wall plug, which is fine these days with a USB outlet pretty much everywhere you look. Speaker connects right up to Bluetooth as expected. Sound is clear and crisp, mic works flawless and battery is very powerful. I have about 10 hours of listening and hands free so far and it's still going. I have attached a lanyard to it (has the loop built in) and it's now permanently in the shower. Great little speaker.

I was interested in this speaker because I do LOTS of presentations in my job and the 12 hour speaker time seemed ideal. When I took it out of the box, I was a bit dismayed to see the USB cord was only about 17 inches long! I would think they would have a bit longer cord, say 3 feet? After all, a portable speaker has to be charged! The instruction booklet I would rate a '1' because the type was small and faint. Even with reading glasses, I could not figure it out. Fortunately, the speaker itself was rather intuitive. They should include a better booklet!!! There is no diagram of what the little loop is on a corner. I assume it is for attaching a cord to secure the speaker, but they didn't tell me.
Once charged, it was a snap to connect the speaker to my laptop. The sound is clear and crisp, but I could not tell any difference in the bass between regular and enhanced. For my intended use in presentations and meetings, that is fine! For music lovers, they might want to try something different.

This little unit packs high quality sound in a compact unit. It is rugged enough to take to the pool, camping or on hiking trips. It stays charged long enough to provide all day music enjoyment. I had no problems getting it connected via bluetooth to my iPhone.

I love the size and quality that comes from this "Nice" speaker! The speaker easily connects to my phone and the sound is very clear. The bass is awesome. I listen to speaker in my back yard while sitting outside and enjoying the evening. I also used to listen to TV on my phone.

I've had plenty of Bluetooth portable speakers as I go through them a lot, and they're relatively inexpensive, looking for that one I really liked.
The search has ended - not only does it have great sound quality, but the battery lasts for a really long time. I play music off this in the afternoons for a couple of hours, then I play music *all night* while I sleep, and it is still on/playing when I wake up.
I haven't taken it outside near a pool or in the water, but this is great for small indoor rooms.

The LG PK3 (with MERIDIAN Technology) was surprisingly hefty and bigger than what I was expecting. Expectations were high!
It's packaged well, cradled between 2 formed shells of Styrofoam, and wrapped in the ubiquitous plastic bag. Inside the box are the speaker, simple manual, warranty info, and USB charging cable (Wall AC adapter not included).
The speaker is rectangular with beveled edges, and the 4 long sides are all made to look like speaker grilles. There is a little texture for grip purposes on the sides that don't have the speakers, but I can see a wet or sweaty hand easily drop it due to the slick plastic, texture or not. The ends have the "bass" ports; you can move the surrounds by pressing on the plastic dust covers, but I wouldn't recommend it as that will shorten the life of the speaker. The cover on the back for the charger plug-in is extremely hard to open. I had to resort to the old car-keys trick to get it to pop out.
Syncing the unit via Bluetooth to my Samsung S9+ was quick and painless; the phone found it right away. The unit can be controlled via the buttons on the top, or through the phone controls. There is the power on/off, Bluetooth sync, volume up/down, play/pause, microphone, and "enhanced bass." The only feature I haven't tried is the microphone, but everything else responds quickly except for the power button as it takes several seconds to turn on and off.
Sound is very good. The lyrics are clear, and the volume can be adjusted over a very wide range. However, despite being advertised with "enhanced bass", there is absolutely no low end. I ran through several genres of music including rap and rock, and the beat just wasn't dropped.
Overall, my only 2 complaints are the fact that the wall AC adapter wasn't included, so now I have to find a spare charger to use, and there isn't any bass. However, due to size constraints, it's understandable why it's almost impossible to get a big enough speaker in that small of a unit. I plan on using it in my garage where I don't have a radio already. It's protected, but still exposed to heat, humidity, dust, etc., so I'm curious to see how it holds up.

Ive been buying speakers from best buy for a couple of years now and this has been my only let down. I bought it because it was on special for 49.00 usd. I usually go with Sony Srs line and tbh they are better than JBL or LG. This speaker sounds good but IT IS NOT LOUD AT ALL. If you have the dough.. go with the SONY SRS XB-20. Hope this helps.

I am a huge fan of bluetooth speaker systems so was anxious to try out the LG speaker. Very attractive unit with well lit controls. On the positive side this little speaker provides clear sound at any volume desired without distortion. On the negative, even with the enhance base feature activated, the unit does not reproduce base or mid-range well at all. Reminds me of the old battery operated AM radios but with much better highs. Probably would not recommend this if you like good sound from your wireless speakers.

The sound quality of this speaker isn't great. It's certainly better than your standard cell phone speaker, but also not as good as many other portable speakers.
The main problem that I have with the sound is that it has very little low-end (even with "enhanced bass" turned on). The mid-range is also fairly non-existent.
I do appreciate that it doesn't require a special app to pair with a phone, but I'd gladly have to install an app to get better sound.

I have a decent collection of Bluetooth speakers and this is at the bottom of my list. While the price is less than $100, I would recommend spending at least $100 on a speaker to get better quality sound. If buying for a child this is probably a good choice. But for teenagers and adults, I’d go for better quality than what this speaker offers.
