This is a classic "screwball comedy" with the stars of "The Thin Man" films (playing different roles)--as well as Spencer Tracy! That's a fine pedigree for any movie. When Spencer Tracy's newspaper accidentally libels the richest girl in America (Myrna Loy) with a false story about her romantic life, Tracy hires a smooth-talking cad (William Powell) to make the libelous accusations seem true, so the rich girl can't sue their paper into bankruptcy.

Perhaps the best romantic comedy of the 1930's. William Powell and Myrna Loy display the same screen chemistry that helped make The Thin Man movies popular to this day. Spencer Tracy and Jean Harlow round out the stellar cast in a stellar movie.

I'm a fan of the screwball comedies of the 30s and this id one of my favorites, featuring Myrna Loy, William Powell, Jean Harlow, and Spencer Tracy. The transfer work from Warner Archive is Sublime as usual. I always love that it feels like an afternoon at the movies. You get a classic MGM or WB cartoon short, a trailer, and a news reel of sorts, and then you watch the movie (or that's how I do it.) Anyway, if you love classic movies, support WAC, and buy with confidence.

This is a classic comedy with a star-studded cast. The movie is great and now viewing it is great with this Warner Archive Collection blu-ray. Highly recommended!

This is a great oldies ensemble movie. Jean Harlow is always great, and the other 3 main characters aren’t too shabby either.
