Silence button does not work

BUT, I went through 3 cases trying to get the silence button to work. Never got it to work. its got to be a defect or I am the most unlucky SOB I know.

I do have some issues with the case already falling apart though. The silence button is already falling off and the warranty policy and website is very complex and a big hassle.
