When plugged in with the cable that came with the case and the wall adapter that came with the iPhone it should first charge the iPhone and then charge the case. It's waterproof, which rules - and perhaps the best feature: I can now charger my iphone with a micro USB connector, instead of having to worry that Apple is going to change their charging cable yet again. They case is heavy but I like it because I remember it's in my hand and I drop it less. The only negative comment I have on it is that I can not plug my sons headphones in with out the connector. I am not organized enough to keep the connector with me at all times. Other than that I really like the case.
