      Hey there!

      We're sad to hear about the issues you're running into with FaceID while using your FRĒ case! Thankfully, we have some tips that should help to fix this!

      Step 1: Open your case and remove your device.

      Step 2: Lay the front of the case down on a flat hard surface with the screen protector surface facing down (the Silence Switch will be on your right).

      Step 3: Centered near the top of the inside of the screen protector, you’ll see two small clear stickers. Using your fingernail, remove the sticker on the right (leave the left sticker in place).

      Step 4: You may need to use some isopropol or rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip to remove glue residue left by the sticker you removed.

    Great case for construction or dirty jobs...

    I wasn’t worried reading the reviews that this case was gonna give me issues with face recognition ... it unlocks perfect every time. Maybe the others just got a bad batch... There are these little particles of glitter in grid form that you can notice... and if ocd will drive got crazy... but honestly doesn’t effect me much... my only complaint is... $90... if I didn’t absolutely need this case for work ... I would shop for something a bit cheaper... especially when you know they use 60% recycled plastic to make these... it should be marketed at $36 instead and it would be totally worth the money, especially because the screen eventually gets beat up from normal ware and tare... I really don’t want to spend $90 every couple of months.

    I cannot hear

    My phone case only had the one sticker that was covering the front camera, that was causing the same face recognition issues just like others on here. But it seems like after I removed the sticker, that I cannot hear conversations as well as before. It’s at the point that I need to wear ear buds when taking important calls. And yes I have the phone turned up all the way.

    I specifically made this account to write this review. After reading through all of negative comments I was skeptical about buying this case. But today I decided to head to Bestbuy and pick one up. Im not sure if others weren't installing correctly or just had defective products. But out the box this case was flawless. After doing my own inspection and cleaning. I did a water test. Passed. Put the phone in and ZERO problems with Face ID. It works just as if there is no case on. The little dots on the case everyone talks about. I don't notice it. With that being said, I'm glad I took my chance even after reading the bad reviews. I love that my phone now has 360 protection from everything. If you're on the fence about it like I was because of the reviews. Id say go for it.

    Quality of the built is good feels strong. But the face ID. Really kills the case, ive tried everything they recommend to do clean this do that jump 5 times blah blah. And nothing. You would think with all their engineers they would gotten it right or even try to go back to the drawing board and fix it. Only reason i went with this case. Seems like the only one the protects the back cameras. COME ON LIFEPROOF YOU GOT TO FIX THIS. ITS $100 WERE DROPPING FOR THE CASE

    Poor build quality....

    I have used the Lifeproof Fre for years on all my iPhones, and have always found the cases to be simple to use and reliable. I use them when I go on snorkeling trips so it is important to have a case that is watertight. Unfortunately, the Fre for the 12 pro max has not performed like my previous cases. The rubber gasket keeps coming off, which is incredibly annoying. And no matter how many times I try to put it on my phone, it does not seal correctly. I found that out the hard way this week on a snorkeling excursion in Aruba :-( Upon looking at it more closely, I am seeing that there are several places where the plastic appears uneven, causing gaps between the two pieces when the case is on. Im so disappointed. What happened to Lifeproof? Their cases used to be so reliable. For an $80 case, I expect much better.

    Needs to be like the older models

    Disappointed. Thought this would be like my xs max. The small wheel you have to turn silent mode on and off is a huge inconvenience compared to the switch you would have with the old one. And I can already tell the cover for my charging is going to rip off eventually and also an inconvenience compared to the simple swivel style.

    Terrible. Face ID does not work. Not going to remove two dots because at almost $100, I shouldn't have to. Sigh. They seemed to have fixed the audio issues back from the iPhone 7 days, but now, eck. Won't be buying another Lifeproof case. Honestly, just purchased this because the Catalyst case wasn't the full-body. Regretting it now.
