The 1st was on an earlier iPhone model and that phone still looks new. This one isn't fully enclosed, but with a screen protector, I do like I can get it off much easier than the enclosed one if needed. So far, it has protected my phone from a couple of drops, including one in the snow.

Let’s just say the case took a beating; my phone however is intact. The only downside is you can’t change the ring/silent switch unless you take the entire case off.
