If you need to add a few devices to your network but you only have one Ethernet jack (and you don't need a managed switch - most home or small-office users don't), look no farther! This switch is small, reliable, decently priced, and couldn't be simpler to use. Note: of course, one port plugs into the existing network, so a 5-port switch allows you to add up to 4 new devices; an 8-port switch lets you add up to 7 devices, etc. Also, plan ahead: it's a good idea to leave at least one port free for occasional use. If your accountant needs to plug in a laptop, you don't want to have to disconnect the printer!

Works just as expected, and is dead-simple to set up. Just connect to your router and you have 4 full-speed Ethernet ports where you need them. Used this to hardwire my consoles in a separate room from the router, and I’m getting zero loss in speed. (200mbps internet and gigabit between-device connection.)

Where I live, my condo association installed a corporate WiFi system. My wonderful Netgear Orbi and private Internet account became redundant. Not to fear, the new system is doing well and I miss my Orbi but it doesn't make sense to have two wireless routers and APs in the same space. I looked through several network switches and decided to pick the Linksys 5 port Gigabit Ethernet switch. The all metal switch was perfectly packaged and priced at under 40 dollars. It set up without any complication at all. Just removed it from the box, and I installed mine on the wall behind my entertainment cabinet. I removed my Orbi and connected my ethernet devices to the Linksys switch and had no problems at all. I run Sonos speakers, Xbox, Vizio smart TV, all hardwired and a dozen other smart home devices wireless. The Linksys fit right into my home network environment and chugs and chugs away without any fuss. You get what you pay for in electronics. It is nice to see quality devices at really affordable prices.

Easy setup and it works great with all the ports I need

Easy to install and one of the cheaper switches. Still works fine, no issues at all. Provides gigabit speeds to a PC, 2X PS5's and has no trouble keeping up.

An excellent 5 port switch with strong feature set. First off I like the retro Blue on Black look that matches up with our main WRT 1900acs router and Linksys SE4008 WRT 8-Port. Like that the switch uses IEEE 802.3az technology that allows for less power consumption during periods of low data activity. The switch has a good hefty feel to it due to metal construction, this I am sure will help manage heat. And what I find Great about the Solid Feel is it does not move around on the desktop like lighter switches. Easy to setup? Yes it is a switch, plug in your Network connection and wired deices and you are good to go. Nice touches are the included mounting hardware if you want to mount to a wall or mount behind a desk. Also comes with peel and stick rubber feet pads for use on the desk. The foot pads could use some attention as two of ours lost their adhesive when we peeled them off. Easy fix with a touch of superglue. We replaced an older E4200 router on my son's desk with the switch, much easier to use, no setup, far more efficient networking (fast), uses far less space and looks cooler. Have an older small footprint 5 port Linksys switch which we use with the home entertainment system, have been using it for years with no issues, but I far prefer the new edition. Highly Recommended. There typically isn't much to say about an ethernet switch--it either works or doesn't. Mine works, it was fairly priced and I prefer Linksys to other brands if given an option. In short, works great and does its job.The selling price at Best Buy was about the same as Amazon's and I didn't have to wait for it! The unit feels sturdy and has 5 ports.

Installing this is dead simple: plug it into your router, plug your devices into it, and give it AC power. I didn't even have to power-cycle my cable modem or router. This switch does have some additional nice features, but my main need was simply additional ports with enough speed to match what I'm paying for. With this switch in place, I was able to get several computers, gaming consoles, and streaming boxes off my wireless network; now both wired and wireless devices have improved performance.

Works great, needed to add one of these to the house after moving to a mesh Wi-Fi router that only had one ethernet jack for local devices. In hindsight I wish I would have realized the 5 ports on the front includes one that you need to plug in for "source" so you can essentially extend your router to 4 other devices and not 5. Fast speeds, no added latency - plug and play.
