This product was very easy ti install and it certainly did the trick. No need to have WiFi dead spots in your house. It worked so well, I got a second one to use in another part of the house where the connection was so-so.

Previously I bought 2 other extenders and could not get them to work so I returned them. After a few months I decided to go into Best Buy and see what other extenders were available. This one was recommended for what my needs are remembering that the research I did on extenders said that extenders might reduce wifi signal over all. NOT what I need to happen. Decided to try again and bought this one expecting to go through the same dissappointment as before. Plugged it in and it went through the boot up process white light blinking then yellow then steady white. This thing was up running on it own before I had a chance to finish reading the quick start guide. No button pushed either. Before set up I moved my AT&T Gateway closer to my stairs and had low signal strength on upstairs Fire sticks... lots of buffering. I set up extender in different rooms and found the sweet spot with good to excellant signal when located in the upstairs hall way. My phone shows my AT&T Gateway ID and same AT&T Gateway ID with .EXT after. My streaming devices set up is ATT Gateway ID for downstairs and AT&T Gateway ID.EXT for upstairs Now no buffering because of low signal.

Works great, i was using Powerline to tie some equipment upstairs to downstairs network for internet access powerline worked, but never gave the performance i expected based what their claims were. This gives me 2-3x what i was getting with powerline and has 4 wired ports i use for some servers with no wireless cards. exxellent

This was very easy to setup, and quickly extended my wi-fi range in and around my home. It takes on the name of your main router or you can alter the name so that you will know to which device you are attached.

We have a big house and this extender does help us get wireless connection in rooms where we previously could not. However, I did have to call Linksys in order to figure out how to set the thing up. The directions, although simple, left out key steps. I would still buy it again and Best Buy was very convenient.

Easy to use, picked up enough signal from about 35 yards through the house into the pole barn. We were able to Line of Sight through glass windows though, which will add signal strength over metal or wood walls. I’m getting faster speeds from the router with lower latency. Not sure if that’s normal, but looking to upgrade the house router as well eventually.

Good directions; easy to set up. Did what we wanted it to do, which was make our wifi accessible in remote parts of our house. We just didn't know in advance how an extender worked -- it actually sets up a separate wireless network to choose

As I write this I'm sitting on my boat around 200 feet away from my wifi router inside my lake home. So I appreciate the coverage. I like the clean simplicity of the router's single status light but it is not consistently lit when I have multiple devices actively using it. The Linksys app that I downloaded to my iPhone was easy to set up. The network map is not accurate nor consistent showing devices on the map that are not present and not showing devices that are. The app could do so much more to help me "see" the coverage of the two bands and how much bandwidth each device is using to help me administer my wifi network.

After installation of the Range Extender, the coverage in my house was definitely improved. My router was in one corner of my house which created limited signal in certain areas and rooms. I currently use a router provided by my Internet service provider which probably does not provide the signal strength required. The extender solved the problem, but I probably will look at purchasing a better router in the future to replace the one provided by TWC.

Purchased for home. To correct issues with current router. Issue ended up being in other equipment. Resolved without need of range extender. Returned to the store. But it worked as expected .. so no problems there.

Easy, simple setup. Works as advertised. I purchased two covering all weak areas in my home. No speed loss, no matter where I am.

This small device was easy to install and provides coverage for the entire house. It simply extends the coverage so there is no new password trquiring devices to swap signals.

I needed my Wi-Fi to reach through out the yard. I spend a lot of time outside enjoying the short summer and always spent more time trying to keep connected to the internet to listen to music. This solved the problem. I can even walk down the street and still be connected.

I live in a big house and had some dead spots but as soon as I connected this up I had full bars everywhere in my house. The installation was super quick and easy. Love it

Worked great- automatically sets IP and automatically changes it so there are no conflicts with the router. The problem is when you want to install more than 1. You can do it but it requires advanced setup. The plugj/play approach shuts down internet completely.

I had a need to enhance the Wifi signal in our house for a Wii U in the basement and my daughter's new laptop on the second floor. Both being on the other side of where the current router was located. I went in to get another model, but the store associate that was in the area helped me with a question and pointed us to another model that would provide a stronger and better coverage. We bought it and it has covered our house excellently. Along with the security WPA feature, our house is covered and secure. This model was worth the few extra dollars and we have been happy with it so far.

The range extender works well, after a somewhat rocky start-up period. It was not straightforward to get it connected to our network and workout security, etc. Once that hassle was over, the performance has been much better than the Netgear predecessor.

Sure there are better, more powerful and full featured extenders out there, but this is a reasonably priced option with simple setup. Perfomed exactly as needed, wasn't looking for anything other than extending my signal further throughout the house.

Easy to set up. Decent looking product. Following the instructions was a breeze. I do wish it reached a little further. Even with this Wi-Fi Extender, I still only have 2 bars in some places in my house and my house is not that big.

Hi, matt,
The location where you plugged in your RE6500 Extender would impact the range that it can provide. We recommend taking advantage of its Spot Finder Technology feature to guide you where to properly relocate the extender for an optimal coverage. Should you need a hand, we're just an email away at LinksysCares@linksys.com.
Best regards,

I’m am pleased with the performance of this Wi-Fi extender. I initially purchased as an adapter for my hard wired audio video receiver and it worked great. But then I got a bit of a surprise it actually improved my wireless connection to my other devices.
