As soon as I hooked this up I was impressed with the speed and range of this router. However, I am finding that any device which is constantly connected (e.g., smartphone) seems to drop the connection every 2-3 days, requiring me to renew the IP lease. I am technical and I have confirmed there is no overlap. I've even tried static IP addresses, to no avail. I'm hoping this is not permanent because it is a tremendous router, but if this continues I will return it. Next stop...Linksys customer support. If anyone has had similar issues please let me know (how you resolved it, if you were able to)!

Purchased this router to address wifi issues in our home. 2300 sqft and this router covers all of the previous dead spots with constant high speed throughput. Easy installation. Very satisfied. Router is worth the price.

I have an all in one Motorola Surfboard modem router combination that had great reviews. It did not perform as well as I had hoped so I had to buy a range extender to work in combination with the modem/router, it helped only in the short range. Although, when I purchased this Linksys router it solved all the range issues I was having in my home. It works just as advertised. The only problem I had was convincing myself the pay the price for the router, it was well above the cost of other routers on the market. In the end I got what I paid for an excellent router.

Got a new smart TV. It is located on first floor and was not receiving a strong wifi signal from my linksys wireless router located on the second floor. Seen this advertised and recommended by Consumer Report. Thought I would try it to see if would solve my problem. Purchased it and had someone who new what they were doing to hook it up for me. Checked the wifi signal to my new smart TV. Was very strong and the tv works great with. Also, found out it gives a stronger wifi signal to all areas of my house on my smart phone that I did not have before.

Setup was a breeze. I play some online games on ps4. I was pleased that NAT was open, as opposed to other cheaper models the NAT always restricted, moderate. This limits the available games you can play online. Setting up pass word was breeze too. As far as connection distance it's about as same as my old netgear ac router from 3 years ago. As far as connection speed I can't tell yet because most of my devices are g and n. Don't have any ac protocol devices yet but I am getting isp limited speed on my iPad and iPhone. That is 80-90 mbits per second with okoola speed test with Comcast cable.

Went looking for an upgrade to the AC standard. Decided on this model after talking to several associates at our local Best Buy. There was some concern that the router wouldn't work with our provider (U verse), but it all worked out ok. We have much better coverage throughout the house. Speedtest results improved by 50 % with this router, as compared to before, so quite happy with that. Dual band is nice, and the guest feature is helpful, too.

I purchased this router a few weeks ago. Previously I had a Cisco E4200 that had worked well for several years. Now with several devices streaming video simultaneously, it was becoming more then it could handle. So I decided to try a new router built to handle multiple devices. I noticed a big difference right away. The streaming video was smooth and did not stop to buffer. The range on this router was an improvement as well. With the old router, I needed a range extender in the basement. With this one, the extender is not necessary. Setup was extremely easy. So easy, that I was sure that I did something wrong. But everything worked perfectly. Overall, this was a nice upgrade at a good price. You can go cheap and get what you pay for and you can spend several hundred dollars for something very high end. This was a good middle of the road choice and has worked very well.

With up to 8 devices using WiFi in our home we constantly fought disconnections on our basic router. After buying and installing our new EA8500 AC2600 Dual-Band Gigabit Router our download speed is great along with no more disconnects. Also has parental controls for each device which is great to limit on line time for school age kids.

Nothing really special here. I needed a fast AC router to handle a modest amount of traffic from a 2 parent, 2 kid family. I can easily stream 4K Netflix on the big screen while my kids stream on their TV's at the same time, no issue at all. Range is impressive as well, I'm happy with this router.

Having had this router for a couple of months it's been enjoyable thus far.. The setup was easy and the iOS app it's been a snap to control who gains access to the router.. I can't complain about the purchase thus far.. Except maybe for the price.. But then again you pay for what get..

    Overpriced and Reboots at Random

I received this product for free as part of Belkin's Friends + Family Program. Now you might think after disclosing that I was sent the router to test and review that I would mention all the pluses and gloss over the blemishes. But I don’t work that way and when it was sent to me it was only for an honest review nothing more. The router is very large to start with so make sure you look at the dimensions about 9x13 inches, there are 4 large antennas that provide really great range and signal strength, I have a large house and was able to get a really strong signal on 2.4 GHz and even on 5GHz AC which if you don’t know 5GHz is fast but does not do walls as well as 2.4GHz. The Large Antennas tended to fall over if I tried to angle them as it seems the pivots are made more for a smaller antenna than these monsters. On the back of the router you will find the standard all GB ports 4 out and one to connect to your modem, there are also buttons to turn off the Wi-Fi and to do a warm boot of the router reset power and a USB 3.0 port that I used for my Seagate 5GB hard drive and I had no issues and the speed was very good. There is also a USB 2.0/ESata port to round out the back. The front unfortunately has nothing zip nada no lights at all, no lights showing you are connected to your modem, that the 2.4 or 5 GHz bands are in use nothing. There is a white light on the top that stays on if the unit is connected and flashes if not connected. Speaking of not connected the major issue I had with the router and a firmware update did not fix it is that it would reboot at random. Along with the random reboots my phone would not always reconnect now I never had an issue when I came home having it connect to the network but when it rebooted it didn’t all the time, this caused me to burn thru more than 1 GB on my data plan one night watching Netflix when I did not realize my Wi-Fi had dropped. After that I would turn on mobile data when home to avoid the issue since I hit 90% of my plan halfway into the month. The firewall and logs are pretty much useless and puzzling, the firewall logs only shows outgoing traffic not incoming which is more useful, there is also no timestamp on the logs so if you are trying to figure out an issue it is much more difficult to do without times. The logs also clear on reboot so a random reboot and you have lost everything. Here is the link to the logs/firewall from Linksys http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=143693. Also the uptime and other interesting information can be found by going here on your network 192.168.1.1/sysinfo.cgi change 192.168.1.1 for whatever the address is for your router. The router does all the stuff you would expect higher end router to do port forwarding and a DMZ for gaming. It also includes the ability to do QOS (Quality of Service) to give priority to certain devices so you can make sure you can watch Netflix and your son will have less bandwidth for YouTube Videos. Or you can make sure your video games won’t pause while your wife is watching reruns on Netflix pick any scenario. The only problem I had with 18 devices was that I never had an issue with bandwidth one of the pluses of the Router. The other issue I had was that the Router has a map page that is not a map but a circle of systems with the router in the middle I have a 2nd router hard wired to the Linksys and it did not see that some devices were connected thru that. The Map also was not able to identify most of my devices even though my basic phone app saw all of them with no issues, My Nest Devices, Ooma Telo, Dish receivers, Android phone. The map also does not resize so my 18 devices took up 2 pages with 4 devices on a second page that was not obvious was there, The Network Map did identify all the IPs and MAC addresses if you went to the page to lock down MAC addresses you had to enter them manually even though on another page they were all connected. The Guest network works like no guest network I have seen before on a home router it creates a web page that requires a logon but the connection is not secure, this puts your guests in an unsecure network as well as making it difficult to put your smart devices on your guest network so that you can keep them separate in case of security issues since the guest network does not have access to your own network. To sum it up the router has great range and speed but reboots at random and is lacking in many areas that a premium priced router should have.

Enjoying the new router, I have seen a dramatic change in my network performance since switching to this new router. Far better performance then my previous $80 router. I can say the price tag is pretty steep, but if you have a lot of devices like my house hold does definitely worth the investment.

good signal strength, stable connection, good speed... only negative is when I turn off dhcp (and configure wiring properly) to use as access point only, it seems web config interface goes away and won't be accessible without factory reset.

I love how fast I can stream video. This thing replaced an older linksys-n router, so i needed more speed to handle updated devices. Had to call customer service for the initial setup, but once i was going it works very well. Good purchase for the money.
