I got this router to replace an older one due to a larger number of devices connecting to and using it. This has a far better range than my previous one and it can support four phones, four tablets, two PCs, two smart TVs, and 2 smart Bluray players. The range extends to the back of my backyard, which is larger than most AZ properties have, and my router is upstairs at the very front of my house.

We felt this would be a great upgrade to our older out-of-date unit by the same company. It has held its own! It handles the many devices for a family of 6. My disappointment lies with parental controls - you can have the device block up to 7 websites - great! But you can't block an entire subject of inappropriate material, only 7 websites. That is not really helpful.

This router is the best I've owned. I finally stepped it up to a better router. I was used to the $45 routers and those were fine and dandy when I had slow speeds and lived in an apartment. When I moved to a house, I realized that the basic router you get from your ISP is junk. I finally just bought my own Modem as well the Surfboard 6183 to go with this router to save $10/mo off my internet bill.

I received this product for free as part of Belkin's Friends + Family Program. I have been using this router for about three weeks, and have been very pleased with its range and speed. We previously had to use 3 separate routers in order to get adequate coverage/signal strength throughout our 4400 square foot home. The Linksys EA8500 router reaches most areas of our house, except for parts of the basement, where the signal strength is either weak or non-existent, so we still need to use a separate router (or a range extender) there. Upload and download speeds are noticeably faster than they were with our previous routers, and streaming HD video is greatly improved (no more buffering issues). No matter how many devices are connected to our network at any point in time, there is plenty of bandwidth and performance is always speedy. The set-up of the router was very easy, despite minimal documentation. The only performance problem that I have noticed so far is that my printer occasionally loses its wireless connection. I have not had an issue with any of my other connected devices. The only other negative is that this router is quite bulky and takes up a lot more space than either of the routers that it replaces, but that is a minor drawback for me, and the router’s performance more than makes up for its large size.

I received this product for free as part of Belkin's Friends + Family Program and I definitely recommend it. I've never had a dual-band router before and was very surprised at the performance that I am getting with this router. My laptop is getting more than triple the speed on WiFi with this new router. All of our streaming is so much better with no more buffering. We have so many devices connected and they can now all perform to peak performance at the same time. You are even able to do media prioritization to make sure certain devices get prioritization in connecting. With the four large antennas you get great coverage, even to hard reach spots and you can move the antennas and aim them where you might need better coverage. Works very well and we no longer have drop off in WiFi connectivity with any of our devices. Set-up was so easy and took much less time than I thought it would. Would even be easy for a novice setting up for the first time. Quick start guide gets you up and running quickly and you go to the Linksys Smart WiFi setup website and can customize and see everything you have connected. You can make changes and do a speed test, see your Network Map, Guest & Parental Controls are right on the dashboard plus more I am more than pleased and satisfied with this router with the speed, range of coverage and how many devices can be connected with no loss of WiFi. I am recommending it to all my friends it is so good.

Fast & furious , little thought to do the set up, specially the help desk at the Linksys is routed to abroad, and they are not too helpful, trying to get you to call your cable company, I tried three times and finally I had a very good tech support in US, and helped us and was running perfect.
