Love the speed and the range on this router. I always keep it in a cool place and it hasn't gone bad like past routers have.

I bought this router to replace the older Linksys router we had. Setup was easy. The admin windows are beautiful to work in. Signal strength downstairs is great now. Used to have dropped connections and locked up router issues constantly and now they are all gone. This is a great router for the price...a real value.

This router works MUCH better than my previous one. I live in a home with many added-on living areas at different levels, and I have a strong signal everywhere. I've had it for a month, and the dropped signals I used to get on my media streamer have stopped completely. I might give it 5 stars, but I only have experience with one other router to compare it to.

I purchased this unit a month ago to upgrade from a five year old Linksys. The game play and data speed is faster although it plays within the house set up by my IP so it is probably not reaching its full potential. To speaker to those who experienced sudden shut down with this unit (and I have once) it seems to be the IP and not the AC2600. In the past I experienced many such incidents, thinking at first that it was the router, but then later suspecting the IP. With this new unit, shutdown (that is NOT to say power off) has happened only once. With the old unit, it was a semi-weekly occurrence. So here is the theory; My old unit was dropping signal every time there was a slowdown in the data stream (often). With the 2600 if there is a slowdown it can maintain the data steam, albeit at a slower speed, and keep all my devices connected, even the one in the kitchen, which is a floor and two rooms over from the router. So my problem was both the router and the IP. My new AC 2600 has overcome a shifty service and made my internet more dependable.

Finally getting full 150mbps download speeds from Comcast. Had a N600 class router that just wasn't cutting it. I haven't had to restart it once since I bought it (a couple months ago). I also get a solid signal a full block from my house and I live in a Minneapolis suburb. Can't recommend this enough.

I upgraded my E3000 Linksys to the EA8500 as there are a growing number of newer WiFi devices in the house (2 smart TVs, and XboxOne and 4 smart phones). Migration went smoothly for me though I have worked with electronics for 50 years, so I am not your average user. Since my router is in basement ceiling to be central to entire house, I did not use the 4 antennas that can be attached. Even without them in my case signal is good and strong throughout house 1600 sq ft.

This unit provides great wifi coverage within the entire house ( two floor, 3,000+ sq ft). The tools and utilities that come with the unit are great and provide the ability to assign priorities to the wireless eq that you want to have the strongest signal. they also allow you to set up guess account access to your wifi without providing your mail security password. also the IPhone app also lets you monitor the network.

With up to 10 devices at home I should have changed routers a long time ago. We have increased range, speed and the ability to use 5Ghz for some devices/users and slower speeds for others. Looks a little intimidating, but easy to install and love the performance!

As along time user of an Asus Router I was never really happy with, I decided to try this new Linksys MU-MIMO Router. I can say that I am extremely pleased with the performance and quality of this product. Most routers have a multitude of settings with no real explanation what they do. Although you can find sites with recommended settings, it is still extremely complicated to get everything 'just right'. This router does not have any of those settings available other than the typical channel, a few QoS settings, and basic NAT passthrough stuff. I can actually say in this instance that this is a good thing to elimate those settings from the config page. Ladies and gentlemen let me just say that this router works and works very well without all of those sophisticated and most of the time not needed settings available to the end user. I set the SSID, password, and preferred channel, and haven't looked back at trying to figure out the best settings for my router. This router has not missed a beat since day one and the wireless speed through 5GHz is as fast as wired. Don't believe me, just try it. Heck if you don't like it, you can just return it in a few days.

Having bought a Netgear Ac2600 7800 dual band router and spending hours on the phone with Netgear tech support resetting and reprogramming I wasn't getting the speed I was paying for through my provider not to mention the 5ghz was non existent. I gave up because who would have thought that buying a router would be this difficult. So I went online and did some research and discovered this router and decided to give it shot. OMG this router is AMAZING! Was SUPER easy to set up and the speed is faster than I've ever gotten. Automatically programmed both my 2.4ghz and 5ghz so didn't have to deal with switching channels. With a house full of 13 smart devices haven't experienced any buffering or lagging. Wish I had bought this router before it would have saved me so much time. Not to mention the interface on the app is user friendly. Glad I bought this router ! Happy customer :)

Consumer Reports rated this as a top router. I just kept trying to get around the $260.00 price tag. By the time I learned again,'that you get what you pay for', two months had passed and the price dropped by half at Best Buy and then all over the net. I run several devices simultaneously and have no speed problems. I will be looking for its big brother in a couple of years.
