Decided to upgrade my OLD wireless router. This unit was on sale and hade good reviews. Installation was easy. So far no problems.

I like that you can move the small antennas to get a better range. Have this in living room and get to the furthest corner of house.

Always had this brand. Never any problems. .Have to write 50 words? Has a security code and does what it's intended for.

I read on Consumer Reports saying it was the best wireless router and so did the Best Buy Associate so I bought it.

Bought this thinking it was going to be easy to set up. Wrong. Connected unit to my modem and tried to initiate the setup of the router. Unit would not connect to the internet to setup. Could not connect to the unit directly even after screwing with the host file to try to log into the unit directly. BS. I took it back and bought a Netgear Nighthawk 4x. I had that set up in 10 minutes.

We received this product for free as part of Belkin's Friends + Family Program. Upon opening the box, we were greeted by a very well-packaged device and accessories. This router is much larger than expected. There are 4 equally large antenna that attach to the router, which creates a very big footprint, so if you have limited space where you plan to install this, there could be some challenges. We had to lay all of the antennae flat to make this fit in our A/V enclosure. The included power supply is also very large. It took a lot of rearranging of electrical cords to create a spot on the surge protector to plug this into. After we managed to squeeze the router and power supply into their final resting spot, we used the quick start guide to connect to and configure the router. The steps were very clear, and setup only took about 10-15 minutes to complete and get connected to the internet. The menu system is very intuitive and easy to follow and use. You can remotely access the router via Linksys' 'smart wi-fi app, or via web browser. There is a speed test ‘app’ built-in to do a quick check on the connection to your ISP that gives results that match the common internet-based speed-test sites. The range on both wireless bands is EXCELLENT which is why we switched to a new router. Our old one had terrible coverage outside of our home and to the lower floor. My yeard is slightly under 1/4 acre, and the AC2600 covers everywhere on the property and downstairs the old one didn't, even with the antennae laying down flat! We tried to use the priority feature to give preference to our Playstation, but after enabling this, all other devices slowed down significantly. We had to turn this feature off, and, afterward, full-speed was restored to all connected devices. We would recommend this router for anyone looking to upgrade, update, and extend the range on their current setup. This router could be a difficult to install physically due to its large body, large antenna, and large power supply, but is well worth the headache!

This Linksys-AC2600dual band wifi router performs superbly. We now have strong signal in the furthest part of the house.

I received this product for free as part of Belkin's Friends + Family Program. I thought I was getting the best signal possible from our existing, pricey, router, even in the far corners of the house, but clearly I was wrong! With the Linksys EA8500 I’m seeing 3/3 bars two floors away and on the opposite side of the house. I even get a strong signal sitting in the car parked on the street outside! Not something I require, but a nice perk when waiting for a family member to catch up. With the previous router I occasionally had to reboot it to restore service – so far, that has not been a problem! All of our 20+ devices are connected at all times and no one in the family has complained since the day after setup. Notice I said, “the day after setup.” I did have two small issues. After completing the setup and configuration, which was straightforward, I think the router must have gone into an auto-update cycle as connectivity kept dropping for short periods. The router status page said that there weren’t any updates, but this is my best explanation for what was happening because since then it has been smooth sailing. The other minor issue is the mobile app. Navigation isn’t the most intuitive, but does pretty much everything you’d probably want to do. My guess is that 95% of people will never need the app at all anyway. It does allow you to check status and change settings, but there is rarely reason to do so. So, five people in the house with a wide variety of devices and we’re all connected, all the time, from anywhere on the property, with multiple streams going at any given time – audio and video. Setup will probably take 10-15 mins and even though most will download the app, most will never use it again. Pros: speed, range, configurable, handles many devices at once, set it and forget it! Cons: possibly too many options for some, physically large (needs some space on the shelf), LEDs might be too bright for a bedroom, navigation in the mobile app could, and probably will, be improved

This is a good router but we needed more power for our setting so returned it for a higher capacity unit.

This router is good for minimal devices. The more devices we used the slower it got. But pretty good for what we have.

I got it at a very good price. It was recommended by a national conssumer magazine and has lived up to its rating.

I was so hopeful when I purchased this product after seeing the reviews and CR recommendation on it. Unfortunately it does not live up to those reviews. The product was much more difficult to set up than my previous Apple routers and after engaging tech support to finally manual configure it we got it working. That was only the start of the issues. The range of this device is really poor, it couldn't even make it to the other side of my small 1,200 sq ft two story home. It didn't even have the same range as my previous Apple Timecapsule router. After messing with it for a few days I packed it up and returned it. Pruchasing another Apple product which works well.

I have purchase 4 units in the last few months. They work great for sending the signal through the walls and floors.

Let me start by saying I have always liked linksys and have used them for many years. They have always been the easiest to install DD-WRT on and have been very reliable. That said I was very disappointed with this router. I have a hard wire from modem to router to desktop and after installing this router I was getting no more than 35mbps on my internet speed test and I pay for 150mbps. I trouble shot the issue and determined it was the router. I read some reviews online and many people were stating that the issue was the media preference and that things needed tweaked in router to get the full potential out of the router. I did not try to tweak the router. It should not be limited straight out of the box. Instead I purchased a Netgear router and plug and play right out of the box 150+mbps.

I have not had any trouble with this router. I used it to replace an older model and it seems to be good quality.

Works really well. Only issue I have us that you have to keep logging in when you use the guest access.
