Router works great and very fast. Guest network is great because it's separate from the main network.

I received this product for free as part of Belkin's Friends + Family Program First of all, I found this router to be one of the easiest to setup that I've tried so far. I have a non-standard configuration - I have a Windows domain controller which provides DNS and DHCP so I don't want the router to do this for me. I also use a subnet that's different from this router's default. And I have several ports forwarded for servers. Even given this non-standard configuration, I had the router swapped with my old router (Netgear r6300v2) within 30 minutes. I also have another router that is setup in bridging mode to provide wired Ethernet as well as wireless to another area of my house - no problem getting this setup connected to the Linksys. The speed and range are good. I have a 150mb connection to Comcast and I'm easily able to get 100mb+ speeds on my phone and the computers in my house. I'm also able to reliably use the 5ghz wireless on the second floor of my house which was spotty at best with my Netgear r6300v2. My son's a gamer and I would sometimes get complaints from him about lag with our old router - haven't heard one complaint from him since installing this guy. He's connected to the router that's in bridging mode that I mentioned above - maybe this connection is more stable with the Linksys? This router also supports IPV6 which is great if you need it. For me, it caused issues for some clients so I had to disable it on those clients. There's also an Android app that you can use to change the configuration and check on the status - pretty nice but not as full featured as the browser based page. And it's pretty cool looking too :-)

I received this product for free as part of Belkin's Friends + Family Program. I was excited to try out a new router specifically for media as my older Belkin was slow when it came to watching Roku. Out of the box it was a little bulky - my Belkin is sleeker and stood vertically instead of flat like this Linksys does. Setup was easy. I just changed the name and password of the Wifi network to match my old one, and everything just worked. I like that you can set the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks to the same name and password and then your devices will connect to the one that's supported. There's a menu item for Speedtest which didn't work for me on my Chrome browser, so I couldn't use that. I'm looking forward to setting up the external storage so my family can share pictures and videos easily. There's a guest network feature with no WPA2 security, so I won't be using that feature. Overall it does a much better job when it comes to watching media - Amazon on the Roku used to stop often in the middle of watching with my Belkin, but with this Linksys I haven't experienced that at all. Some of my other components have experienced some occasional drops in connectivity, but lately it appears to be better. Not sure if it was related to this router, but I'll be keeping an eye on that to see if it recurs. My Wemo, Nest and husband's laptop had those issues. I have Media Prioritization set up for the Roku and my laptop, so I'll be playing with those settings if it happens again.
