Best buy guys can't figure out why. But time Warner is still way faster than I was getting with att so I'm enjoying faster speeds.

The behaviour of your EA8500 is not what we expected. Have you tried resetting and reinstalling your router? Do you happen to know if your router is running on its latest firmware version?
