I bought this to upgrade from an old Netgear router. I have a gamer in the house and we have several gadgets that use WiFi....so far it works great. The only thing is I can't use my Google Chromecast any more. It won't recognize the WiFi. I read it will only work with the 2.4 band (router is a dual band one)...I tried that to no avail. I'm not all that tech savy so I gave up.

Highly disappointed! I bought this to replace my Linksys E4200 which I have had for a few years and it has always worked fine but was intrigued by all the added features this newer more expensive model offered. Boy was I disappointed. Only had 2 issues but they to me were big ones. First one was the router rebooted on its own twice in the 24 hour period I had it and secondly only the phone app for the Linksys smart wifi actually works to allow you to make any changes to the device. If you try logging in on the pc web based version the log in doesn't work right and once you do manage to get logged in most of the features you select only get you a "waiting for page" to load message so I decided this was not the device for me and hooked back up my Linksys E4200 and returned this one to Best Buy.

I've been using it for 6 months with no problems whatsoever.

Thankfully thus far the router is performing up to par.

On line setup is fairly easy. Range is excellent!!

Purchased on BlackFriday for a great price. Fantastic router for the first week. . . easy setup, plenty of functionality, fast with decent App to control. After a week, router did NOT broadcast any signals without a reboot. Yesterday, it DIED. Linksys may consider Quality Control and test products before launch and yes, the Firmware was updated. I would NOT recommend and stay away from Linksys AC2600. Replaced w/ Netgear Nighthawk R7000; hopefully, with better success.

Should have read more reviews, without much effort you will start to see the number of defective units out there. The product required a technical support call to even install - and yes directions were followed exactly - there was an advanced setting that needed correction, then my next call to technical support ended with a firmware corruption, followed by a second firmware corruption 2 weeks later followed by multiple resets a week later etc - leading to the unit being deemed defective. Just be aware - this is one case where you might not get what you paid for because I expected more based on the price

This router is great , linksys customer service skills are awesome with helping walk through easy setup!! Highly recommend this product if you have multiple gamers and movie streamers in the household

Painful setup, abysmal tech support that ultimately resulted in them telling me the router was defective out of the box. Very disappointed! This router would have been a $300 brick had I not taken it back to Best Buy within the 14 day time frame. Poor set up and overall a bad experience tying to get this thing to work. It never did. Returned it and got the Netgear Nighthawk AC-1900 7000 that was super easy to set up and has great range. Forget Linksys!

This router have solved our WiFi weak signal problem in our home. Every body can get on line now with no problem. Thanks to Linksys for the EA8500.

I am very happy with this purchase. It was the most highly rated on consumer reports and Best Buy had the best price I found.

Fast. Gbit. Easy to set up. 2 and 5 GHz Great signal coverage. Works direct and bridge mode with cable modem.

Very Slow Router Drops Connection All The time not stable 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz....Worst Router I have ever seen and used...Don't buy it, you will be very regret. Specially if you know how to SpeedTest.net your internet, you will see how bad router this is..

I purchased this router after seeing that it got good reviews however it was broken out of the box. After numerous attempts to get it working and working with Linksys support, they determined that the router was broken. It is ridiculous that they ship broken hardware to retail locations.

Has great coverage. The wifi reaches even upstairs.

This is a solid router with nice features and app!

I discovered that this model has a known issue that causes the WiFi to lock up and require a reset. I have had to reset it now 5 times in 2 months, once it dropped all programming and went back to default. I am still waiting for a solution from Linksys.

I bought this router because I kept having issue with my other brand of router. It worked for about a month, then one day it apparently went into an infinite reboot loop. I was not able to get an internet connection after that, even after factory reset. It has been returned. On to the next brand.

If parental controls are an important feature, than stay away from Linksys. The controls are well laid out, but a struggle to get them to work Check support boards regarding parents having issues and dealing with 2nd tier support. The router works fine, nice features, but stay away if you want to control access for your kids.
