    Beast Router

The Linksys EA9500 max stream router is the fastest, most powerful router I have had the pleasure to own and use. It is beastly fast -- I'm pulling 160MB+ wired and over 50MB wireless on all channels. The signal is equally strong in the furthest reaches of my home, the pool and walking around my immediate neighborhood. Form follows function -- not only is this router a super performer but it looks beastly as well. Like something from an Aliens set. I am delighted with the hardware!

I bought this massive router to replace a old Linksys router. This is super easy to setup and is strong enough to push good signal to every part of my house. My wife led one would have weak signal at the furthest part of the house. I have a 100 year old house with plaster walls so it's not easy to get full strength signal everywhere. With the EA 9500 I am even able to get the 5ghz at full strength everywhere in my house (2000sq ft.). It might seem expensive but I think it's well worth it. It might seem overkill for light to medium home use but it future proofs yourself a little bit.

I bought this for a small office router and it performs very well. 8 antennas are pretty amazing. This thing puts out amazing signal quality anywhere in the space I put it in. Also has a nice cloud admin app to manage the router remotely.

Easy setup, stable, does not require reboot like Netgear R6300 did every few weeks. It is expensive but price going down quickly as competition is heating for the 5200 Mbps routers.

Great range, 5ghz frequency is not as large as 2ghz but that is to be expected. Setup is easy and works like a champ. It is a little on the big size, so you need to make space for it.

Tried 3 different routers, nighthawk x6, asus rt5300, and this linksys. Linksys out performs the others in my household. Only thing is the parental controls. Haven't been able to make them work straight out the box.

I recently upgraded to this router from a Linksys WRT1900AC router. I had no issues with the old one, I just like to buy the best tech gadgets when I can afford them. I'm very impressed with the speed on this router, I can definitely tell a difference over my old router, which was already pretty quick. Having 8 ethernet ports on the router is also a huge plus, I use most of them. If you're looking for one of the best routers you can buy, this is definitely a contender for that title.

I upgraded my Linksys AC1200 with this beast. What a difference!! I have my wireless media streaming devices connected to the dual 5ghz band. The range is very good, it covers my entire house and the backyard without adding a range extender. Setup is simple but you will get better results if you do some reading on the different wireless bands, which is easy because Linksys has good information on their site.

This Wi-Fi router is good for running lots of devices. It can prioritize your devices, so what you want to have the best connection will have it. Also l used to have a switch and no longer need it because this router has 8 ports, so less clutter and easier to use. l purchased this router because its 2.4 channel has up to 1000 mbps and most devices out there don’t do that. l would recommend this to someone that has alot of devises And don’t want to deal with lag.

This device is pricey but well worth it. I paired it with a new Motorola SB6190 and enjoy the speed on my comcast connection. I'm happy I was able to set up dedicated wifi connections on 5ghz for my nest cams, previously I was always getting dropped connections. Overall I am satisfied that the Ea9500 can manage all our devices: 4 cell phones, 4 laptops, 2 game devices, 3 nest cams, all at once. Not to mention when the kids friends come over with their phones and laptops - using the separate guest network. Just one thing, call your internet provider prior connecting a new cable modem.

I bought this router after going through two NetGear NightHawk x8 routers. Those routers died after about two weeks where they went into an infinite loop cycle. What I found with this Linksys router is unbelievable reliability. I have 24 wifi devices connected to it including 4 rokus, multiple tablets and laptops. From about 25 feet away on the 5g band I'm getting copy speeds to my qNap NAS at about 40MB per second which is incredible. I highly recommend this router.

I have owned a number of routers over the past years from a number of brands to accomodate the increasing number of Wi-Fi dependent equipment in my household. Installation was never as easy and smooth as claimed. Performance was spotty at best across my large/older house. The new Linksys Max-Stream changed all that. Remarkably simple installation. Truly outstanding performance. Not inexpensive but definitely worth it. Go for it. It's the best avilable.

I was looking for a router that could handle many (35+) devices at once, with 14 hardwired and the rest on wifi (mixed 2.4GHz and 5GHz devices). I do a lot of video streaming and have gigabit speed internet, so was looking for those specs as well. I'm not anywhere close to an IT pro, but I'm not a complete novice either when it comes to setting up tech either. After such a bad experience with this router, this was my first time buying a Linksys product and will also be my last. I'm not loyal to any particular router brand, just want a router that does what I'm looking for in a router and actually do those things without major issues. I ordered online and received this item on Sept 7th. Initial setup was okay, but a bit long compared to other routers I've set up. It was all downhill from there. From the outset, the Smart Connect option that automatically chooses which 5GHz band (1 or 2) to be on for the particular device really wasn't all that smart. It would drop the wifi connection when deciding which band was better for the device to be on. It wasn't a matter of a specific device, device brand (iPad vs Fire tablet, various brands of laptops), or device form (tablet/phone/computer) - it just wouldn't connect to the second 5GHz band. To get the 5GHz band to work at it, means going into the settings and disabling Smart Connect. Doing this automatically disables the second 5GHz band and there's no re-enabling it independently once Smart Connect is disabled. I might as well of bought a dual-band router. In addition to that, was the increasingly frequent totally dropped connections. With each passing day, the router had shorter and shorter times that it would be connected without having to be power cycled. Even after many hard resets to the router (and modem), the issue remained. Finally, on October 1st and after just 23 DAYS of initial set-up, it completely died. After doing yet another power cycle and hard reset, it would continuously reboot itself because it was unable to find/connect to the network. Contacted Linksys and asked me about the power supply that I was using with it. "Ummm.... the one came with it, when I bought it a few weeks ago." The customer service rep authorized a return and I received a replacement router several days later. Did a bit of Googling to find there is a common issue with the power supply of this router and other Linksys routers as the power supply can't provide the full power it needs to function properly. Seriously the power supply is something that would be included with a basic, no-frills laptop - roughly the same size/build as the one that came my Lenovo Ideapad 110s 11.6" - and not a very high end consumer router. The replacement router was a pain to set up and took several attempts over the course of 5 hours to finally get it set up. Still not entirely sure what made it finally connect as it would get stuck in the set-up process at different times in the failed attempts. Nonetheless, the replacement router had the same issues as the initial one and just as quickly too. So, now less than two months later both the original router and its replacement have stopped working. Out the nearly $380 I spent on (including taxes and after a 10% coupon) it, not to mention the $30 dollars to ship back the original router to Linksys and the many hours of having to set it up and hard resetting/power cycling it many times. As for a replacement, I bought a NETGEAR Nighthawk X6S AC4000 (R8000P) from another site (it isn't sold on BestBuy.com, maybe in the near future) and it arrived today. The router was only released in late August and there's very little in the of tech expert reviews for it. Set-up was a breeze and the second 5GHz band actually works, without even having to enable Smart Connect. The power supply was bulky and looks like it can handle the router, so not a negative for me. While the Netgear can handle 4000 mbps vs the Linksys' 5400 mbps across the three bands, but the Netgear has over 800mbps available due to the fact that the second 5GHz band never worked on the Linksys.
