Old router was apple it was very good but needed an upgrade this router is top of the line. If you have a lot of devices on your network l recommend this router. Also has an app where you can prioritize 3 things. Before l had to use a switch but this router has 8 Ethernet ports so l no longer use the switch. Overall this upgrade was worth it.

I was having trouble with pixilation on my TV satellite box. I knew I was not getting the full MB's per second that I should have been. I was getting 20 to 25 mbps with my other Linksys router. I bought this new router and now I am getting just over 60 MBPS. No more pixilation and great coverage all over my home. I can even sit in my backyard and get over 50 mbps.

I purchased this router to handle all of the Wi-Fi devices and Ethernet connections I have on my network. Took an inventory and I had 32 Wi-Fi devices and 22 Ethernet devices on the network with just a router and no extenders. Had items dropping the connection or they were just plain slow and should have upgraded the router sooner. Have been a fan of Linksys routers for many years. This router I bought was the easiest to install and did not require a disk to install. It connected to the internet and installed the software. I love the network map it creates as items are added to the network. You can see how the items are connected, 2.4 or 5.0, Ethernet or Wi-Fil connections or devices not connected at all. When I installed the new router, I disconnected all devices and turned them back-on one at a time so I could properly name each device. Some devices came over with the prior names since I had a Linksys router previously. The network has settled down and it has eliminated the connections dropping, response time on devices is faster and I was thinking today it is nice not to troubleshoot these devices anymore. I know this is not the cheapest router, but you get what you pay for and I am satisfied with my purchase.

After reviewing many comments decided to go with this model. Disappointed that my "2 bar house" is still a 2 bar house. Internet seems faster but no improvement in bars.

Not having the time to be tech savvy, I looked for a router that was 1-easy to set up, 2-has good coverage. This router has both. I have a large home and quite a few devices and the Max-Stream 5400 handles all with ease. Probably overkill for what I needed, but the ease of set-up was worth it. It guides you through each step. It even has a separate "Guest Network"!

This router is great. Signal strength is good for single story house. You can position antenna for multiple story but I have not tried since my home is single story. Multiple connections doesn't slow down unless I noticed multiple 4k streams it slows down a bit. Only complaint is you get random disconnects once In a while that last that last for few seconds. Firmware is up to date so could not tell why it's doing that.

Our original router left us with unreliable service at the far ends of our home. The new Linksys EA9500 has been s huge improvement. Good signal throughout our home.

Really impressed with the router. I didn't get good coverage throughout the house with the old router, this router has no issue on coverage. I have 300 MBS download internet speeds and this router makes for great streaming and gaming. Make sure to look at the dimensions as it is much larger than older routers.

We have had to restart the router a few times which we never had to do with the old one. However, the range and the number of devices it supports is pretty good.

Easy to setup, easy to use, not too concerned about writing reviews. Eight ports for my wires and all of my toys, the signal is great for my girls and my boys. I've always liked Linksys, it's them that I trust. I have no doubts this won't be a bust. The price was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but I'm happy it all worked well in the end.

This router is extremely fast and has been very stable. I went through several routers trying to solve my gaming/smart home addiction. The 2 or 3 others routers I tried failed me because of range or not being able to handle several devices at the same time. This router surpasses all my expectations and has excellent range.

Recently replaced our old router with the EA 9500 and haven't had a problem, haven't had to reboot and haven't had any complaints from my teenagers who are streaming movies while playing x-box. Very easy setup, solid reliability, convenient mobile app to help keep and eye on things and setup new devices - you really couldn't ask for more.

I have owned Linksys products for over 15 years so I downgraded the router 1 star because it required a Linksys Account to access the router. Normally i would just plug a network cord from the laptop to the router and access it directly to configure. This seems to be missing from today's procedure. Otherwise it is a very good router and increased my coverage and reliability over my old 1900AC.

We have had Cisco then post-merger Linksys routers for about 20 years. Our most recent was the Linksys AC3200. We were very happy with it, but it died of old age and hard use. Because we have so much network activity and a complexity of types of activity (home management system, multiple streaming TV's, phones and several computers as well as gaming) Decided to make the big step up to the EA 9500 as we are a streaming family. The 8 connection ports in the back of the router almost got me out of needing a separate 8 port switch in the home office. We have five TV's and at any given time as many as three of them are streaming, and there is video gaming, two computers in the home office, an entire networked home management system all driving off this router. It has been in for a week now, and so far it is handling everything perfectly. The ease of setup was really the killer for me. I had the entire home network back up and running within 15 minutes of when I took the router out of the box. I set up the same SSID's as I had with the previous router, and everything in my home connected to it within a few minutes.

    Not So Great

I read as many reviews as possible about this router and the Asus RT-AC3200. I settled for this one and decided that it would replace my Netgear R6300. Setup was extremely easy. So easy that one may think there should be more to the router based on the price. I'm using the Arris SB6190 cable modem with comcast high speed internet. Speeds are great for my hard-wired desktop. 240 Mbps download and 12 Mbps upload. The 5ghz (combined) is fast as well. 185 Mbps download and 12 Mbps upload. The 2.4ghz is decent. 88 Mbps download and 12 Mbps upload. Now, for the disappointment. One word. Disconnects. When my devices are connected wireless to the 5ghz bands, they disconnect often. The 2.4ghz works great. The 5ghz band does not have great range either. I still have to use my Netgear wifi extender when I am upstairs if i want to use the 5ghz band. My home is roughly 1500sqft. I called Linksys and they told me that the 5ghz is for speed and the 2.4ghz is for range. Basically, you can't go far fast. If that makes sense. More disappointment. After trying a few things independently to correct the dropping of the 5ghz band, I called Linksys again. After 3 minutes of troubleshooting (reading from a script), the lady put me on hold for about 5 minutes. She came back and asked me if i had a wireless microwave. I told her I did not. she proceeded to tell me that my brand new router was defective and that I should send it back. I have smart bulbs, smart switches and security cameras all setup with this router. It will be a royal PITA to have to reconfigure them. Please do your research. Everyone will have a different experience but you should be prepared to deal with subpar support and if you fail to buy the protection plan from Best Buy, you will have to go through Linksys to have your router replaced. I have not decided whether I will replace it or not. My apologies on the long review.

Had a very good Asus N router but it had some range issues in my large house. Before and after testing showed about 30% overall improvement in range and less lag issues for kids gaming. So far very stable after several weeks of use. Setup was easy and interface is about as good as before. Device is big so plan for the footprint.

As of mid 2018, this router IS the best you can buy on a consumer level for a big home. The wireless is flawless and fast. No weak spots in the house whereas the last router's wireless signal wouldnt even reach the other side of the house. The price is high but you do get what what pay for. Id buy another one of these and I'd sure recommend this to anyone else who is looking for connecting many many devices with a fast internet connection to each of those devices. We have 2-3 Netflix streams going all the time, 3 gamers in the house who care about their ping being as low as possible and i dont, like 12 different mobile devices on and updating and doing whatever they do. At the most busy times in the house, not a single person lags. Netflix always loads fast, the online gaming is always enjoyable and lagless. This router is basically like the big pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Theres enough for everyone to enjoy and its all top quality internet connections. I might even take a picture with it for Christmas cards this year.
