Linksys AC5400 GIGABIT ROUTER - easy and fast

Setting up the Linksys AC5400 was very easy, pretty much automatic. Setting SSIDs, guest SSID, passwords, and LinksysSMARTWIFIup profile pretty easy. The TROUBLE SHOOTING selection on the portal displayed the connected devices, IP and MAC addresses. This provided option to reserve the assigned IP address by device, useful for such as for a network printer. This router replaced a Linksys router that I had for 9 years. WiFi signal strength is good on main floor, lower level, garage and outside around home. I had to remove and reinstall default networked HP printer on Windows PCs. Most of time was spent on this activity. Also had to re-enter WIFI network password on all devices although the SSID and highly password had not been changed. I will endeavor to learn more about using and tuning features as time goes on.

This router is great for many reasons: Coverage - Its coverage far exceeds any previous router I have owned. I have a 3000+ sq/ft home and it reaches all areas of the home without issues. Speed - The speeds are accurate. Off my router I have seen little to no loss.

With eight ethernet ports 8 Wi-Fi antennas for $300 you can't go wrong. I have 27 Wi-Fi devices hooked up to this router and have not had to reboot it one time since I got it. I would recommend this wi-Fi router to anyone

Love everything about this router, the 8 port switch on the back, the web interface for monitoring your router from anywhere, the speed and range are the best i have ever had from a router. It is a bit pricy but worth it

I purchased this item because I needed a little more range. Thats pretty much what I got, a little more range. Speed seems to be good most of the time. Once in a while it slows to a crawl. I normally get 133mbps, but sometimes it gives me 5 or less. I think it just tries to control too many areas. I don't have a lot of things running at the same time. I almost returned it but I didn't want to disconnect it and pack it back up. It is a decent router, but not $399 decent. Thats almost $50 an antenna. My $100 router works almost as good, just a little less range. No soapbox or flag waving here.

Have a need for speed? This router can handle anything that you throw at it. Instantly doubled my range and download speeds from my prior AC1900 router! This is a MUST BUY for anyone who demands a lot out of their Wi-fi system.

This Router is a little bit better than my previous Netgear AC1750 regarding range, but for the price I was expecting more. Normally, we use internet at the same time for 3 laptops (video streaming and surfing), an Xbox One (online gaming), a 4K Roku, 3 or 4 phones and sometimes an Ipad. I live in a one story 1800 sq. feet home. I was having internet problems in the rooms located the farthest end opposite to where the Router is located. The Linkys Ea9500 somehow solved that problem. It is better, almost never drops and you can stream hd videos there, but I hardly ever get full wifi bar on my devices. Internet speed is ok. Half of what you get in the same room where the Router is. If you step out of the house it is almost unusable. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. The router is capable to handle all my devices running at once without compromising Internet speed (only If you are at a close proximity though)

      Hi, Yangarin,

The signal strength of the router is normally affected by interference. However, our Escalation Engineers would be happy to assist you with a few workarounds that could improve the performance of the router. I've been really happy with this router. Amazing coverage all over in my 1400 square foot house, including in my frontward, side yard, and finished concrete basement. The only issue I had was a 2016 MacBook Pro dropping connection and I found out it was because that older one had trouble being moved from 5 Ghz to 2.4 Ghz. The MacBook didn't know how to handle the router's prioritization. Once I changed the settings in the router to just have steady state bands of each frequency and not move devices based on network traffic, never had an issue. My 2018 MacBook Pro had no issues ever.

I had an old Linksys router that served my well for many years. The 5Ghz band was going in and out from time to time; so, I upgraded the this beast. It is huge comparted to my last router but it has 8 ethernet port, instead of 4, and it has two 5Ghz bands, old one just had one as far as I know. The guest band has a 2.4 and 5Ghz. The WIFI signal is stronger throughout my house and in my basement, than on my old router. It has a devise priority section so I can ensure the devises that I want to get the most band with will continue to perform during high traffic times.

I bought this router to replace an old Linksys Wi Fi Router, It installed super easy , setup only took a couple of minutes, it's range and signal strength seems excellent. I have not found any negatives at all.
