Amazing speed and range. I have no reception problems across a large 2 floors home and the worst I get is about 50% for my ISP speed

Let's start by saying your router is only as good as the internet being brought into your home. This router is AWESOME! For starters it has 8 ports for wired connections and 8 antennas for Wi-Fi connections. We are running wired connections to a PS4, XBOX1S, 3 Smart TV's. Wireless to 3 cell phones, 3 tablets, 2 laptops and 7 SONOS speakers. No lag on anything with room to ad. Most running independent signals which I can assign priorities to, manage usage and have parental control. As well assign guest access codes and manage those. what more do you need from a router, yes I love my Linksys - Ea9500 Max-stream Ac5400 Tri-band Wi-fi Router.

I was a bit skeptical at first when deciding on this router, since using it for the past month, I've really noticed how fast it's been. My only complaint is its size.

This router was received free as part of the Tech Insiders program. It replaced my Linksys EA7500 router. My rating is 4.5 but I rounded up as it is closer to a 5 star then a 4 star. The Linksys EA9500 is equipped with MU-MIMO and Tri-Band technologies. MU-MIMO (Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output) is a Wi-Fi technology designed for multiple users using multiple devices without lagging or buffering. Some specs: Tri-Band with speeds up to 5.3 Gbps Band 1 – 2.4 GHz (up to 1000 Mbps) – works with old N and G network devices Band 2 – 5 GHz (up to 2166 Mbps) Band 3 – 5 GHz (up to 2166 Mbps) Smart Wi-Fi allows you to control your Wi-Fi devices remotely. Using your browser or the mobile app, you can: • Prioritize devices or websites for video streaming and online gaming • Control content • Monitor network activity and speed • Turn Wi-Fi access on or off for any connected device • Create a separate guest network (go to www.linksyssmartwifi.com) Dual Core CPU (1.4GHz) Four simultaneous streams of data for faster performance. Ports: USB 3.0 USB 2.0 Eight Gigabit Ethernet ports (LAN) plus 1 WAN 8 adjustable antennas 4x4 AC – four simultaneous streams of data Advanced security with WPA/WPA2 encryption and an SPI firewall. Beamforming technology directs Wi-Fi signals to each of your mobile devices. Setup was much easier than with the EA7500, with the exception of the printer which had to be manually setup and then it connected to the Wi-Fi. The install menu walks you through the process pretty well but you need to first connect to the network using the provided password. The glitch here is that the initial password in the Quick Start Guide didn’t match the password on the bottom of the router – use the one on the bottom of the router. Then you go the Linksys website and configure the network. You create a name for the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks and then create passwords. Then you have to connect your computer to the new network name. Begin connecting all of your devices to the network. Don't forget phones, computers, DVD players, TV’s, notebooks, printers, etc... We have both old and newer devices of those and multiple brands. Very simple since I chose my own password. I tested with the Linksys MaxStream RE7000 range extender and also without it. At one point we were connected and operating 16 devices. With the range extender nothing dropped off and signal quality was excellent throughout our entire house. Without the extender the signal quality was excellent in most areas although I had to reboot a desktop where the network connection kept dropping. After reboot, the desktop was fine. The only issue was that on a few devices the speed dropped slightly (i.e. my desktop from 134.42 Mbps to 131.19). Not a huge difference but I would have thought the speed would go up and not down. Range was good (without the extender) as my neighbor was able to access my guest network with her tablet and had great speed (our service is faster). The router is a large size; with all of the antennas it measures 13”w x 10”d. If you have gamers and/or a lot of devices being used at the same time I would recommend this router. Otherwise the Linksys EA7500 would be a less expensive, quality choice.

I have been using this router for a couple of months now. When the router works, it works very well - great speeds and great coverage. Not sure why, but every so ofter it will just drop eh internet. If you are using a wifi device you have to disconnect and reconnect and if you are using it via LAN you need to close your browser and reopen it in order to reconnect to the internet. The other issue I have with it is the parental controls. If you are looking for a router that you want to control what your kids are allow to do, I would not depend on this router. No matter how many times I set up the parental controls, they some how either change, get removed, or just plain don't work. Also, just to note, the original AC5400 I purchased had to be replaced because it was defective. I spend over 2 hours on the phone with Linksys tech support trying to figure out why we could not access the router. The tech representative said that the device was defective and had to be replaced.

Lighting struck our house and fried our Linksys AC router. Read multiple reviews and the Nighthawk line seemed to have the highest marks. Went all out for the best one available and have not been disappointed. The linksys was about a year old and would hang up regularly. It was set to autoupdate too. This has never once gone down on us. We cut the cord on cable and only use the internet for media. We regularly have 2 MacBooks, 4 iPhones, a roku, 1-2 chrome casts, and 1 pc (wi-fi) all on it simultaneously without any issues. I also have a ubiquiti ac pro (extension for outbuilding) on it as well with no issues whatsoever.

I first purchased the netgear nighthawk x6s ac4000 router. That router was terrible. Constantly lost connection and had to restart the router for it to reacquire the ip address. Took the netgear back and paid $50 more for the linksys router and have not had to reset it once after a month. Even if you lose power or the internet provider makes changes in the ip address this router seems to be able to automatically sync. I have only noticed the connection breaking once late at night during a winter storm, but was back up within 30 seconds. I liked this router so much i bought 2.

GREAT WIRELESS ROUTER, WHAT I LIKE IS THE 2 CHANNEL YOU GET WITH IT, THE 5G CHANNEL IS USED FOR VIDEO, THE 2.4 IS USE FOR EVERYDAY AND THE OTHER CHANNEL IS USED FOR GUEST. THERE IS NO MORE BUFFERING FOR STREAMING VIDEO, NO MORE HARD TIME FOR ACCESSING WEB SITE

I have always been a Linksys guy and before I purchased the AC5400 I almost purchased the Netgear nighthawk x8. I am so glad I waited. This router has eliminated all the dead spots in my house and has allowed me to connect all 5 of my tvs, 3 laptops, 5 cell phones, and countless tablets floating around the house not to mention any additional brought in by our guests. Set up was easy and the GUI was very interactive. We no longer have video lag issues while streaming to our tvs. Best of all is that this router is future proof and has a built in switch for hard wiring in multiple items. I highly recommend this product.
