Needed replacing after 30 days

Called Linksys support and they determined it was faulty and to send the old back and they will send new one, which they did. I had to pay return shipping which I felt was bad customer relations especially after such a short period. The replacement router is holding up, but it hasn't been a month yet. If this fails I will no longer consider Linksys. I also will not recommend because of the return shipping I had to pay.

Upgrade Your Wi-Fi!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up: I diligently followed the written set up instructions, but found myself in a loop that didn’t get me to the point where it could be completed. So, after several failed attempts, I called tech support for help. After a very short hold time, I was connected with Geri, who made my day. When I explained the problem, she assured me she could help. She asked me to make a wired connection between my laptop and the router (not mentioned in the written instruction). This immediately brought up the online set up process. Since I was now connected, I presumed that was the end of her help. Not the case: she took me through every step in the set up process. When that was done, she had me unplug to ensure Wi-Fi was fully operational, and it was. That was 5 Star service: short hold time; courteous, knowledgeable, and well-spoken service tech! Product: This is a big router, and it delivers a big punch! Immediately after setup, I started connecting my myriad of Wi-Fi devices and had no issues. Range is excellent, but what really has impressed is how much faster I can connect my TVs (on the other side of the house) to streaming services (Netflix, Pandora, etc.), and the connection holds. With my old router, connecting and staying connected without start/restarts ranged from very good to abysmal. If your TVs are 4K UHD, upgrade to the EA9500 as it is designed to be compatible. The EA9500 is an excellent product! That combined with excellent tech service makes a winning combination.

Although, I had some trouble maintaining a gaming connection at the farthest point in the house from the router. Granted, it is a 3,000 SQFT home with a lot of walls between the downstairs and the bonus room. I bought a linksys extender and it settled my issue. I would recommend this product.

Falls short of expectations

Good in theory but works good in Ideal straight point of sight reception target. Will not give strong RSS or band width, when walls, long hallways or longer distances are required to reach outside camera's. Would only use in smaller home with LIMITED walls to cross to provide WIFI inside only.

It is higher in price, but I truly believe the phrase :you get what you pay for". Right before I purchased this one, I purchased a lower model Linksys and returned it two days later. Being that we are living in the age of technology, most things run off of WIFI, so it's important to have a good router. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to deal with slow wifi issues.
