This baby is big but it does the job. Works better if you manually set wifi versus letting it assign network.

The router was easy to install. My range of WiFi has extended 20’-30’ further than my previous router. I don’t have drop out either! And it also has seamless WiFi which works great as well! The only thing is my other router had a modem in it. Where this is just a router! It is expensive! Especially a modem is needed as well. But it’s worth the cost!

Very easy to set up with incredible signal strength, range, and speed. I love all of the extra LAN ports to connect my whole house with only one additional switch in one room. WiFi connection is near Gigabit speed and I now have twice the speed for my WiFi connection at home to access the Internet than I do with my wired connection at work that has a dedicated T1 line.

Up front, I will say that I may have gotten a bad router. I was looking forward to upgrading my home Wi-Fi from 802.11g to a faster and more stable wireless version. I liked that this device had a lot of new features, a hefty processor, and 8 GB wired ports. I replaced my old router and did not notice any real changes for the wired connections but I did NOT expect them to change very much. I immediately noticed that the Wi-Fi had some issues. The range was less than my several year old router and the connections were not stable. At a distance of 30 feet, neither the 2.4 or 5GHz bands were maintaining a completely stable connection and performed at equal or lower bandwidth to the old G Wi-Fi. I had not had a chance to look into that too closely due to work and travel over the past few weeks. I expected that this was either a side-effect of the channel switching feature that I would need to tweak a bit or that a firmware update would be released shortly to address that. Considering the cost of the router, I did not expect that to remain a normal operational state and I was willing to blame user error in the configuration for the time being. That changed a couple of hours ago. I purchased and setup this router five weeks ago. Earlier this evening I was watching Netflix and my stream stopped. My kids began to complain a minute later that their game and YouTube connections had dropped. When I went to check on the router and cable modem, I found that I could not connect to the router at all. Upon physically looking at the router, I found it stuck in a continuous reboot loop, essentially non-responsive and unable to perform a factory reset because the router was not responding to physical or network commands and restarting every 30 or 40 seconds. I was not pleased at that point but these things happen. What did make me rather happy was that Linksys has 24 hour support. I called in at 3am Central, reviewed steps I had taken, did some of them a second time, and the gentleman in their support team started a RMA process for me. He was quite polite and is taking care of what needs to be done. For me, his performance and rapid assessment of the situation saved the reputation of this device and of the company. Bad things happen, faulty units can ship out, but when a company stands by their rep and makes things right for their customer, then I will gladly purchase their products. As an aside, I connected my old router and everything was back to the way it was a month ago in just over a minute. Linksys' tech rep and I were both satisfied that this was a problem caused by a faulty router. Once I receive the replacement through the RMA process, I may update this review as to whether or not the new one works better. Right now, I cannot really recommend this model router. The unit I bought did not perform well enough to justify the cost and it failed after five weeks of operation. I have used Linksys products before and have never had one fail; I have replaced them because they were old but they were still running. If the new one works as advertised, and seems to have a better life span, then it should be a good buy. The included documentation on the CD is really not worth the bother of reading it.

Good working unit if you live in a ranch style house. Multi level home, use the mesh wi-fi
